My store in Cleveland OH had S2 Prism Break and Eruptor but that was it. (this was at about 3PM or so) I decided to pass on the both of them because I can just wait until I find them somewhere else for cheaper.

It's funny that all this Wave 3 commotion is what's got me lurking forums for answers now. I should have been doing this a long time ago, just so I wouldn't appear so caught-off-guard when people were asking me about "Wave 3" characters I'd had no information on.

So does anyone have anything resembling an official list of what's supposed to be out Sunday at all stores? I can pretty much tell you not to expect anything from TRU beyond what was released Friday morning (for some of you; I don't know why some managers blatantly went against corporate instruction). I've gathered that Gamestop will, at some point, have their timed-exclusive Scorpion Striker, but does anywhere else have anything special I should know about?

P.S. I also want to say I'm a bit tickled someone called the Alpharetta TRU "the good one". I don't know if it was sincere or sarcastic, but I should hope it was well-meant.

No one really knows other than what you typed Higginjoe. It does appear that the Gamestop Scorpion battle pack has been pushed back to 1-9-13. Other than that, nothing else is confirmed.

I've been reading the forums for a while now and decided to post and ask, how do I go about signing up for the Toys R Us hot toys email? I put my email in on their website but I only get coupons and stuff like that.

I got an email from TRU tonight that now says "Skylanders Giants Wave 3 character figures - 5 to choose from!" Definitely an error statement going to be posted in the window for the Sunday advert claiming "8 to choose from" I would expect.

Went to tru at 530 this am, the guy cracked open 5 boxes in front of me, nothing new. No variants either..

None of the 18 boxes we had at my store had variants, either. Then again, out of all the Skylanders we've ever had (Spyro's Adventure and Giants combined), I've heard of us having maybe 4 variants total. I'm not sure what the distribution is supposed to be.

Someone in a post said they are supposed to be about 1 in every 50 boxes. It almost seems that they are making the stone and glitter variants a lot more rare this time round.

I know the GITD ones from S:SA were somewhat easy to find. I think the stone and glitter variants are supposed to be like the gold and silver ones from S:SA. The guy at my TRU said he saw a Glitter Hot Head. I wish he wouldn't have told me that because now I have to stop and check everyday on my way to work to see if they have one.

I hate to break the bad news...
But, since Glitter Hot Head is rarer than rare, chances are the store you got it from will not see another one.

I was calling TRU's this AM about the wave 3 releases to secure a final figure and one of the TRU drones that I spoke to was telling me that there was no new giant in this wave, but he said that both Hot Heat *AND* Eye Brawl came out in wave 2... I questioned him extensively about this and he claimed that he saw the Eye Brawl giant figure at his store. I honestly think that he is smoking something. I was at a TRU (not the same one I was calling) the morning of wave 2 release. I was the first person in the door and there was only Hot Head on the table with the other regular figures. No one on DS has gotten an Eye Brawl and I do not see any on EvilBay so he *has* to be smokin' something or just mistaken. He was thoroughly convinced that he saw it though. Very strange.

Wave 2 gaints case does not have eyebrawl

I would say maybe he got Eye-Brawl mixed up with someone else, but he's rather hard to confuse. As stated, Hot Head was the only Wave 2 Giant. I honestly cannot think of a reasonable explanation for his confusion.

I apologize, if I'd known I needed to, I would have mentioned you have to have a physical ad to price-match at TRU. I think they stopped taking online ads relatively recently. And was the B2G1 sale at Target or TRU? I don't remember a sale like that recently at TRU, but I've seen so many I can hardly keep track. My wife had no issues with price match at our TRU. Just showing them the online prices from other stores when she went for the LC Shroom Boom they gave us the 11.99 price everyone's else has for LC's. I guess each store has it's own rules.

Not quite its own rules, just... a failure in consistency, probably. Not everybody gets every message. Goodness knows I've gotten instructions too late for them to matter.

It didn't come out on 12/21/12 at Toys R Us, I went there on 12/21/12 here in Arizona, and they knew nothing of it. They said it was impossible to be releasing them that day because they just got a shippment of wave 2 they don't even know anything about wave 3...=/ so yeah

Does anyone know if Lightning Rod is shortpacked in this wave? I've been to a few TRU locations and 1 Bestbuy, and all of them are sitting on multiples of Stealth Elf, Cynder, Eruptor, and Prism Break, but I have yet to see Lightning Rod. As of right now, he's all that I'm missing.

L-Rod is the rarest of Wave 3 so far.

Also, Walmart has gotten in Wave 3, I saw Prism Break, Stealth Elf, Eruptor, and 1 Lightning Rod. No Shroomboom yet.

ALL Series 2 figures only come 1 to a box for Giants, while new figures, minus Pop Fizz in wave 3, is 2 to a box.

So, L-Rod only feel shortpacked, because apparently, people want him more than P. Break, Eruptor, and Stealth Elf.

Not shortpacked - in fact there are just as many LRs as Stealth Elfs.
Thing is he's the only one there isn't another version of. So he's selling the fastest.
I had 17 boxes of W3 ((ALL boxes are the same...so each one had a LR)) and 4 boxes of LightCores
Sold out of Lc Shroomie and S2 LR faster than anything else. Hell I even had some scalpers hiding LRs to come get later...stupid scalpers...

This is the only readily available version of Lightning Rod, so he'll be popular. Even the first wasn't distributed consistently, so a lot of the folks who never found him are picking up the new one. Expect this rarity to continue.

Good point about the fact that he is the only one of his kind from wave 3 released so far. That probably does explain it. But on a related note, my mom was able to find him in the TRU by her in North NJ. So now my kids' collection is up-to-date, but I am still on the lookout for any variants.
