A buddy of mine called to tell me there was a Granite Crusher on the shelf at Target tonight. I wasn't worried about picking one up, so I told him I wasn't worried about it. However, I ended up at that Target later this evening. It was still there. Looking all sad because someone had opened the package and it was taped shut. I went to the register in electronics and asked if that was the only one they had. The guy checked the system and it was one of two in the system. (Meaning, yes, it's the last one.) We opened it up and made sure there was a card and sticker. Everything was there. Another employee came by and said that it shouldn't have been put on the shelf like that and should be defected out. That would mean he'd be sent back to the vendor and who knows what could happen from there. Poor Granite Crusher...we couldn't let that happen, now could we?
No. Of course not.
So I said I would take it and went around to do more shopping. When we get to the check-out, the girl ringing us up took him off the counter to scan him and the package fell open. She asked if I knew it was open and if it was the last one. I told her "yes, last one and looks like someone returned it". She marked it down 15% for damaged packaging.
A discontinued figure at a discounted price? I'd say it was a good find...

I doubt he's discontinued for the long haul. He will probably make appearances at Targets again within the next month or two, just like the Legendaries popped back up at Toys R Us throughout the year, after going missing for a while.

Either way, I didn't pay full price and there hasn't been one on the shelf at any of the Targets within 20 miles of me since Thanksgiving.

On a side-note, someone had returned a 360 starter pack with a GITD Cynder to Target. I was amused.

I'll never get one anyways. *shrugs

Nice, that's awesome ^.^ I don't really like Crusher but if I see a granite one I'll be sure to try getting a closed one Does it say it's a Granite Crusher on the packaging or do you have to look at the figure to find out?

I'm glad to have found him. I wanted to get one when they first came out (and the stores had tons of them) but I figured they would be as easy to find as the Legendary figures. But they seemed to disappear as soon as I had the money for one. Ah well, we have one now and the kids are happy.

For those still looking, there are some on Ebay going for around $20...

I found 2 's on Christmas Eve. My mom bought me one for Christmas. I'm very happy to own one. I don't think he will be discontinued because two weeks earlier I called and talked with the manager, she said that they would get some shipments before and after Christmas. Good look finding one though.

On a second note, I did find two Flaswing triple packs, and two Sprocket triple packs. Didn't get one yesterday because I'm going to TRU tonight. Hope I can get them for the BOGO 40% deal, because Target had no sales. So there is hope for "rare" figures after the holidays. Hope I can get some S:SA triple packs at TRU today.

Granite Crusher I saw on launch day, and there was one left in the store by the time I got there (less than a half hour after the stores opened)

After that, I didn't see ANY until the ad that came out a few weeks ago with Granite Crusher in it. I picked up a second to keep in the box. I haven't been to the stores recently, but I remember seeing like 2-3 at one Target not too long ago.

For my G.Crusher I just had to ask ((Couple weeks ago though...))

My Target has such a tiny section for Skylanders when they put out an add with G.Crusher they had around 6 boxes in the back but no where to unload them.
