The plot thickens........

Never posted before. My wife has (her account) to find out about a ghost roaster bug that was annoying me greatly. These forums have helped me A LOT. So, I thought I would pass along some info I got. I phoned my local TRU to see if they were releasing wave 3 at midnight or later in the day on the 23rd. I was informed that there is NO HARD STREET DATE. They will most likely release them tomorrow. I asked about LC Shroom, he said they put him out yesterday and sold out already. Then I asked if he knew about any new giants. He said they have not received any new giant figures yet, just the normal sized singles. So, make what you will of this. I have no pic. I have yet to figure a way to take a pic of phone call. This is just one store, others may be holding to the 20th and 23rd dates. Hope this helps some of you get your wave 3 'landers.

I called Target while i was typing, they are releasing LC shroom tomorrow, good luck and may your wallets not suffer too much longer!

Hmmm......without reading the other posts I have this to say - The manager at my Gamestop told me yesterday that the 1-1-13 date was a strict street date and it didn't matter when they get the battle pack in, it isn't being released before then.

ace4557 - here's my problem. You said you only saw Thumpback, and that makes no sense. Why on Earth would your friend only show you Thumpback, and nothing else? And then why would you not take a pic? Saying "you'll see, when Thumpback comes out, that will show you" doesn't fly either. We all suspect that Thumpback will be out with Wave 3, based on past evidence. No proof, but a strong suspicion. So if we see Thumpback, it won't prove that you were telling the truth, just that you were playing the probabilities.

defpally - you need to go back and reread some things. NO ONE said the next wave would be out on Dec 2, for the record. I said that they were going to replace Barbie at the front with Skylanders (and we have multiple reports that did happen), and that I was told that events such as new figure releases often accompany such changes, but that it was still just speculation. I went out of my way to make that point.

Alot of people said it was coming out on the second.

Cool your jets, I also said speculation is harmless, as long as it is just that and indicated as that. That whole debate was over whether you had confirmed information from your inside source at Activision, which you eventually said it was not. You know I also said in that thread my own speculation was wrong about a pre-Christmas Wave 3, if you choose to go back and re-read.

Had ace come back and said "You know, my friend actually told me this and I didn't see it" or said he mis-typed, then it would have been different. But he doubled down, played off the details and tried to play the offended card. Then we find out he is likely an Ebay scammer and downhill we go. I'm not a fan of the offended play, it is a classic response when you are busted fibbing or exaggerating - and besides, it's the Internet, put on your big boy pants, no one should expect to be trusted just because they say so.

defpally do you really think someone is going to risk their job to let people in the back room to see whats in the boxes my friend showed me thumpback out the door there was no time for a picture or to see anything else that's why I cant find out anything until now when someone picks up the damn phone been on hold for over an hour sent back to main menu 7 times now crazy

Like I said, if I am wrong:

a) I get to post that my lack of absolute faith in your un-provable, suspect account of holding a Thumpback was misplaced.
b) My sons and I get to enjoy playing with Thumpback on Christmas morning.

However, if I am right:

a) It reinforces everything that has been said by myself and others here, and lends even more credit that you are lying about being the Ebayer scammer.

However, I think you have bigger fish to fry than being right on the Internet. Even if we all get to enjoy Thumpback this weekend, you have someone that is using your user name on Ebay to scam Skylanders from people. The odds of someone randomly choosing "ace" and "4557" are astronomical, so if it isn't you they probably stole your name from somewhere you use it to impersonate you. Given this is a Skylanders forum and Skylanders are involved in the auction, it happened prior to this thread and a user name list is not available - you may want to figure out who you have interacted with previously. That is, if it isn't you, of course.

BTW the Hot Dog Battlepack was confirmed by the GameStop Facebook page to be released Jan. 1st 2013. The. It will be exclusive to GameStop for one month. If you are gonna lie at least have correct information.

Nope. Unless they are in a mall that is closed, Gamestop is open on New Year's Day (with shortened hours). Always have been.

And that "placeholder date" is mentioned in graphic image ads and on several commercials displayed on the store TV channel. They specifically say January 1st. It isn't just a field that is just populated in a non-NULL field in the database for the website.

Ace, problem with you saying TRU employees would be putting their jobs on the line, is they won't be.

A TRU employee let me take a pic of him holding the single pack Ignitor with my cellphone, on March 20th, 2012 - the day before wave 4 went on sale at TRU - only showing his hands, and he let me take the pic with the security room door open (in R Zone where they keep new Skylander street date merch).

She could have held it down by her stomach, where only her hands were displayed.

By the way, I talked with a local TRU employee today, who confirmed NO GIANTS were coming with this wave, or at least during this release. This employee stated Lightcore and new Series 2.

Ebay posters would have posted Thumpback by now (employees), like they have LC Shroom and the new Series 2. Yet, he's still absent.

Tell ya what, Ace. How about a bet? If you're so right, you have nothing to fear from this bet. I will give you two free games of your choice, from my personal video game collection of 1357 games. Yeah, but that's because come Sunday, there will be no Thumpback... let alone Eye-Brawl or Ninjini.

That's why I am so confident in my bet that goes 100% his way from the onset. If he wins, he wins 2 games of his choice. If I win, he's out nothing.

I won't lose, though.

I have plenty of popcorn for everyone... all the fixings with it too. Keep this going, it will give me entertainment for the next 48 hours while I wait out this effing blizzard that is starting tonight.
