TRU's ad today has..something I..honestly have no idea what it even is.
The Tree Rex is obviously the $49.99 plush thing, but then that leaves us with the Legendary colored Spyro and Trigger Happy. Take a good look at that Triggs. Make no mistake- it's NOT a plush. It's very clearly sculpted and actually looks like a standalone figure. The Spyro as well has too much of a sheen on him to be a "plush".
So that begs the question...just what the heck are these things? We saw figures appear before in a Walmart ad so did they scrap the standalone figure line? If so, why?

DERP REX
And, YAAAY! LEGENDARY SQUISHIES (They're little squishy figures that.. well.. are basically soft figures.) I've seen the Tree Rex, and the voice actor sound more like Stump Smash..

Indeed. The figure doesn't seem complete, though. It needs to have a voice bubble over his head ("I can playz Skylanders now?") while holding something like a Crystal Wham-Shell in his left hand. |

Too bad the only one I've seen is the Tree Rex at my store.
I received a bunch of normal colored Spyro, Trigger, and Eruptor in Small, Medium, and Large plushes for this sale as well as a box of those Tree Rexs ((4x)) which were almost already gone by opening Today. |

Well here is L-Spyro and L-Trigger Happy on TRU.com
They look like the Squishy toy things, but how could a voice box fit in one of them then? Can someone please try and get these or one for research?

I've seen Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy in the stores. They are actually kind of cute, but I really wouldn't buy one.

The voice boxes are not very loud at all. Brand New out of box you can barely hear them. Thus they're very tiny. Quote: Shroomy_Boomy
Sadness - I don't even think they count as part of the sale |

Any chance of getting some real life photos/video of these Legendary talking squishies? I wouldn't see these in the UK until March, my stores have only just got the regular 7", key clip and Portal action plushes in :/

I saw that the other day. I do not get the high price, particularly for Tree Rex. $50 is absurd, but of course all Skylanders offshoot merchandise seems to be overprice. The Castle Case is cool, and would be fun for my youngest, but $40 for a plastic case that doesn't even hold many figures? Nope.
Tree Rex seemed to be made of really thin, cheap material. He may have lights and speak, but come on. I just don't see him holding up for play with a younger kid (who would be the ones mainly interested in it). |

The squishies are like the Eruptor/Gill/Triggs/Spyro squishies from other stores. My son actually really loves his Eruptor one, but they're definitely for a younger crowd. If you're not entertained by stretching and squishing things, you may not need apply for these.

Snapped a pic of Trigger Happy, these things feel really gross lol. They remind me of those squishy stress balls. His guns are removable, which was a neat touch.
