So if gamestops do get wave 3 the 23rd, will the battle pack be there as well or is it 100% going to be released January 1st no matter wave 3 or not

It's currently speculated that the Jan. 1st date is a tentative placeholder date. However, it falls on a Tuesday (which is new release day in the US) and stores may be open on the 1st. So, until then, we won't know for sure because no one is going to be able to give 100% verifiable proof of anything. We're only 2 weeks away, so it really doesn't matter at this point.

100% confirmed. They have online ads with the date on them and in store tv ads stating they will be released jan 1st. Also that noone else will have the pack til 30 days later.

My guy at TRU said they were getting the Battle Packs as well on the 23rd.

I got a vaccine against Giant Pocs when I was a child...sorry.

This just in, I think it was Vortimous that was saying his TRU was showing opening up at 6am on Sunday the 23rd and then my stores all showed that as well..........guess what? They have changed the store hours on the website when you look up for your store. The hours for the week now go along with what the press release earlier had stated, that it will be 24hrs starting the 21st and going through the 24th. So for anybody that thought they might actually get to go to bed Saturday night, not happening

So i guess i'll be at my gamestop at 10am or whenever they open sunday. *fingers crossed for finding ALL of wave 3 there sunday*

^ I'm with you. Pics would have surfaced by now. The idea of a wave without Giants is not preposterous at all. These guys are just a mini-wave stopgap centered around Hot Dog (a highly anticipated character) finally coming out. I'm relatively convinced that the Battle Pack is supposed to be the big-ticket item this time and not any Giant.

The whole world doesn't just walk around without cameras. Ten-year-olds have cameraphones these days. You better believe anyone maintaining steady employment (like the people leaking photos) has some kind of phone plan, and cameras usually come standard. Sure, it's possible the boxes simply haven't arrived, but I don't know why they'd even bother shipping them asynchronously.

Nevertheless, we'll see. But pics or it didn't happen till then.

I stick around to keep up with info so I can find out when I can get the ones my kids want and have a few laughs in the meantime. At the end of the day, all the info I present is true to the best of my knowledge and ability to prove. And I have even doubted my own information when I haven't been able to get verifiable proof.

Where is your proof that GS will have it exclusively?
And what happened to TRU's "exclusive" wave 2?
I don't think anything has gone exactly as speculated or predicted at this point, so I will believe when I see first hand.

Yes, that was me... thanks for the info... Yes I see that they did update the hours (DAMN).... I was gonna work that night and get off that morning and go... now I wonder if I will go to work at all. I guess the one thing that has me really wondering about if any Giants will be released is there has been NO advertising at all from TRU about this event... nothing showing what they will get, even an ad. All this is talk from managers that people just claim to have talked to. Even if they did, managers and store employees have been wrong before. I got into an arguement with a TRU manager back when Legendary Trigger Happy was coming out. We knew the day and she insisted that there was only one legendary and it was a three pack and trigger happy was not one of them. After explaining that they would be there that day, she insisted that only three legendaries exsisted. The next day I went because I knew he was being released and low and behold, they had about 100 of them (and still do have a ton). I just wish I could have seen her that day when she got them in. She argued and argued with me like I didnt know what I was talking about.... so sometimes they dont even know....

Once again... I would like to hear about an advertisment before we can be sure anything new is coming out....

It's called the day after D-Day (Monday). If you were one of the lucky ones, you got Hot Head on day 2 of release at TRU. Weeks before any other store.

I don't believe tru had ads claiming they'd be exclusive there.

I was told by one of my local GameStop managers that wave 2 was going to be a 30 day exclusive to TRU weeks before Skylanders Giants was released. How he knew or if he was simply telling me a "rumor" he heard I have no clue.

Weeks later...

I Went to TRU on Sunday to buy all of wave 1. I went home and relaxed for a while when all of a sudden my phone went BING!
TRU sent me an e-mail on sunday afternoon telling me about a "hot toy alert". This is when I had confirmation of wave 2 being released on monday.
No clue if they sent out an paper ad in the paper or not.

Indeed we all seen wave 2 in lots of stores within 2-3 weeks of TRU having wave 2 so maybe it was only a 2 weeks exclusive?....

I went to Gamestop today, they PULLED a scorpion striker back from the back and asked me if that was what i wanted to pre order. They told me that the battle pack was a thirty day exclusive. None of you knew how bad i wanted to snatch that from his hand and run out.
