I agree with all except for smilie. Bird Blaster was fun, but very useless, especially for PvP. The Super Shot needs other enemies for ammo, which aren't in PvP. The Piercing Wind and Vac Master-Blaster 20X only increase 5 damage, so they're both useless unless there's a group of weak enemies like Chompies.

S2 Trigger Happy is one of the last I'd go for, honestly. There are some pretty amazing reposes out there. Granted, he gets more from his power than, say, Zook or Double Trouble, but that's not saying much. It does improve the character; all Wow Pows do--it's just that he's one of those reposes where you have to consider cash on-hand versus functionality. Get the three-pack if you're missing the other two, but maybe pick up a different re-pose if you're choosing how to spend $10.

I suggest the Bird Blaster path for Jet-Vac if you are focusing on Story Mode since you can suck in enemies and shoot them out through a Super Suction Air Blast, taking out a large number of enemies, but Vac-Packateer is better for PVP because the Super Suction Air Blaster is useless against your opponent and you are hopeless trying to defeat your opponent by using the Vac-Blaster. And I recommend the Pyromancer path for Flameslinger.

This exactly. Bird Blaster is leagues better in PVE, while the same could be said of Packeteer in PVP. Difference being, you don't have anything to vacuum for super blasts (Jet-Vac's best attack overall) against other players. Even Sonic Boom is going to stop throwing babies and start just roaring at you when she sees what you can do with the fodder, so don't expect to be able to vacuum ammo ever against a decent opponent.

Pyromancer is superior all around though, so yes, do that.

I saw in an upgrade path recommendations thread that you recommended Marksman at first, you said that in this case plain and powerful beats amusing and unique. Is Flameslinger the only character you have changed opinions on for paths?

Marksman was better in S:SA, which I believe is when I made the recommendation. Pyromancer didn't have the Wow Pow to make him a complete character back then. I haven't changed my stance; the game itself has changed and made Pyromancer better than it used to be.

But yes, I have changed opinions. I won't admit it often, but I picked Blademaster on Ignitor initially like everyone else. Vhraina was the one who taught me what SotF can do, and I haven't looked back, but I fell into the Blademaster trap at first too. And let's see... other instances... I used to prefer Melon Master Camo, but I can admit I was wrong there too. Vine Virtuoso has always been better. I used to like Barrier Boost for Shroom Boom, but was way wrong on that, and revised once I had played Paramushroom for more than a few seconds. EDIT: Oh, and I initially thought that Lightning Lord was better than Typhoon Titan, but now consider the paths equally good overall and very opponent-dependent.

So yes, I do revise my evaluations when I'm wrong. Not the case with Flameslinger, though. The game revised Flameslinger for me. However, I can't stress highly enough the importance of trying suggestions people give you. True understanding isn't about being right the first time and defending yourself to the grave, it's about knowing enough to make an informed conclusion. That usually means listening to others.

Super Spinner is way more fun! You spin around shooting light and deflecting shots all while causing massive damage.

^ VERY slowly I will add, it heals her slowly. Not to mention she has to remain STATIONARY to do it. It's more fun, but Super Spinner is stronger by a landslide.

dont listen to lightspyro. you can repetitively shoot the shards into the wall, and then they will repetitively heal you. i can cheap my way out of most arena battles with that effect. you can heal 50 health in under 10 seconds!

@joerox123 yes, i have tried both paths. shards is more fun and useful.

Don't listen to Thumpterra. You can't heal 50 health in under 10 seconds, without getting clobbered in PvP. Not to mention she's vulnerable in close-quarters on this path and she doesn't move very fast (her spin only lasts for 2.5 seconds).

Super Shards is better for PvE, but not PvP.

I have her on super shards right now and I can heal fifteen every second and a half. Just when standing next to them. Not shooting new ones. That makes her heal much faster.

Yes, she heals fast like this. It's a big advantage in PVP, because you have no choice but to follow her if you're going to keep her health decreasing. There are a lot of tactics this seriously ruins as an opponent.

Sorry to interrupt your Flashwing argument, but my Secret Santa (It's not a secret anymore 😋) got me Swarm! I am really excited to use him in Giants, but I was wondering what path I should take him on. Most people say his Flying Path, which I completely understand since flying is great for his speed and armor, but I am a bit more appealed to his Bee Swarming path since he can summon a huge swarm and axe. What do you think?

Wasp Stormer (bee path) may seem like a better choice, and I had him on that first, but the damage on Barbarous Avenger makes it the superior path. It really makes him a powerful character.

Shadowdancer is Ok, its just that the nerf really hurt her. Nether welder is now awesome, as you can use all her attacks to do nice dmg. I like her nether welder better.

Swarm - Wasp Stormer : it's more versatile than the other path

Bouncer - Robot : it's really strong plus the other path can be difficult to use

Fright Rider - Joust Jockey : lance a lot is good but this path is way better

Shroomboom - Barrier Boost : the other path does more damage but the parashrooms are pointless while this path is more versatile and makes the barrier useful rather than just getting in the way

Hot Head - The Burninator : this path is destructive the other is a little too boring and takes a while to produce the same level of damage

Yeah but how long does take to create the meteor as its size and damage goes up in increments (starts off at 30 and goes up to 100) and it makes him more of a close range fighter instead of medium range, the only thing I'm not sure on about that path is if the meteor able to be interrupted

Problem is, when doing that you're not moving! And when you're not moving, you can get destroyed by your enemy/enemies when you are vulnerable.

Don't think I'm showing bias (I don't like Trashwing much, too much like Trigger Happy for my tastes), Super Shards was fun, but is outclassed by Super Spinner in strength levels.

If you want Flashwing's big problem to be low damage, pick Spinner. If you want Flashwing's big problem to be defensive vulnerability, pick Shards. Both have one large-scale weakness, it's just a matter of picking what you want yours to be.

A lot lower than spamming crystal shards, in any case. Definitely a factor to note. Defensive superiority is why you'd want Super Spinner; she's SO FAR less damaging than the others in her element on that path that there's no way not to note it. Bash, Terrafin, Dino-Rang... even Prism Break is about to get a large-scale damage boost when his Wow Pow releases, and all of these guys just destroy Super Spinner's numbers.

Just one example of why that's not true, but Bash's Wow Pow does...

30~* for contact roll damage
60 for the Earth Fist that initiates the first part of his Wow Pow
70 when he lands from his Wow Pow
80 for a tail swipe to conclude the combo

240 overall, in less than two seconds. More damage, less time elapsed. Also, easier to connect with than all 4/5 hits of a Super Spin, which takes far more time and positioning, along with a more willing/less able opponent. Even great PVPers eat a Bash combo here and there, but I haven't seen many undone by Super Spins.
