So I was in Target today at the Skylanders Giants display and I put Lightcore Drobot and Eruptor on the portals and I saw them using their Wow Pows in the preview. It even called them series 2 characters. However when I put them on the portal in the 3DS version it calls them series 1 characters. I don't own the console version of the game so I ask anyone with it and one of the lightcore Skylanders, can these guys use their Wow Pows or not?

Console only says Lightcore (name). That must've been the earlier phase of development, but yeah :/

Does anyone know why they don't count as s2?

Because if they counted as S2 people with lightcores would have no reason to buy that S2 character. Just a way for Activision to get more money out of kids and collectors. I myself won't be buying any lightcore so...

They act just like Series 1 characters, except for the following:
1. They unlock the heroic challenge in Giants just like their S2/Newlander alternative.
2. They have a flash-bomb effect when first placed on the portal in a level (Think like when you level up)
