Dark52 has recently revealed on his guestbook that the mod applications will be open next Friday before Christmas.

i'm sure he will keep the applications open longer than just one day HIR. First interview (or application) doesn't mean best chance.

Moderators have the ability to delete other people's posts and topics, as well as suspend people.

But dark, I think you should give mods some troubleshooting/bug fixing capabilities... either that or just tell them to report any issues to you. <.<; *brick'd*

I do agree whit wspyro , he might open it but it can take LONG time before he is going to choose , now he gets everybody to shut up whit opening these applications , and i am pretty sure that is all he does want right now.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he was thinking. I know we need mods and that it's a good thing he's doing this and all, but I kinda feel sorry for him right now. He's been harassed about it for years and now that he said he'll do it there's users bugging him about when and going "WE NEEDZ THEM NAOW." And on top of that, he's going to have to go through thousands (I'm guessing) of applications. Like I said, I know we need them, I just can't help but feel a bit sorry for him.

Wonder how the applications will be handed out?

He really shouldn't make a rank limit now that I think about it.

^This. sometimes a higher rank could mean a higher amount of bias.

Yeah... I suppose that's true. But, generally you want moderators to be familiar with the layout, structure, and function of the forums as their jobs are to keep the forums running efficiently. So it certainly helps if the person has been around longer... >.>

Yeah, moderators can just deal with the problems without a word, if they choose to.

If there is spam, the mods can simply delete the spam comments.

If there is a troll going around causing trouble, like widespread spamming/trolling, the mods can simply suspend them and remove the comments that lead to the disorder.

Though I wish they had the power to move topics, so that they can move off-topic discussions to the right sections of the forums.

I'm thinking that you have to send a message with the subject of "Moderrator" to Dark on why you should be a Mod and what will you do as Mod.
Still, that would be a pain to go through but the answers are more trusting than other methods. At least I did it to be so.

But isn't there a character limit for the PMs? I feel like there is...

I doubt that we need to write that much. We're not writting an essay.
