Hi all i just wanted to now your opinion about this game on some questions .
Do you think this game was better with or without the toys?
Ever consider buy this game but cause of the toys you didnt buy it ?
Would more people buy this game without the toys need?
You consider this game lose is "magic" or get boring without the toys (never been the same thing without the toys) ?

I think the game would end up just being a bit redundant with only a few characters. To me, the beauty of the game is playing through with new characters- each has a different playstyle and attacks which makes them truly unique instead of just a plain old reskin like you end up with in a lot of games.
I think from a standpoint of someone who's thinking about getting into the game, it's a bit frightening to spend $75 on the game in the first place, and then pay more for other characters. Arguably, and to me it's not that much different from picking up a regular game and then paying extra for DLC maps and characters and stuff though. I think without the additional physical characters, the game may not have had the success that it did originally- people love collecting things and having figures that actually look good encourage people to come back and get more, continuing to drive sales up. If everything was just unlocked from the get-go, they probably would have had to rely more on storyline and gameplay which wasn't something on a super high level. That's anyones guess I think though haha As for losing the "magic" I think that's something that definitely drives not only the game, but the entire community. People hunt for these things and if there's any indication by the prices of special ones on ebay, its that this is a very popular series and it all stems back from the toys.

I'll break it down to you.

Two ways to look at this. 1) was it because of the toys cost? then yes for they up the price of the game thus making it harder to buy. Not saying I didn't want the game because of this but because I couldn't. 2) Is it because I think the idea of the toys are bad? then no. Quote: spyroblue
For the most part. I'd say it's fine how it is. It allows players to unlock new things for their game simply by paying a little bit more. However, the 3DS version would be a little bit beter if you didn't have to use the toy and the portal power to switch your main character. But only to put the skylander in the game for the first time and to update the toy. it helps with the portability. Quote: spyroblue
Honestly, I'd have to say no. Because to be honest that's what most people like about the game. Though I know most people would agree that the toys should be cheaper. Like $5 a toy. Quote: spyroblue
It'd differently loose it's "magic" without the toys. Honestly, I still think it's the best thing about the game. It's fun to go out and beable to extend game play just by paying a little bit and not have to buy a whole new game. In some ways I treat the getting a new toy like an expansion pack. EDIT: I finished answering.

I agree with SPARXisAWESOME. It just feels magical that
these figures can come alive in their own world like its an alternate universe
