So, I was looking around on Universe today, and noticed that they updated the icons area for your collection with the ones the site actually uses now since the Giants update.

Something that strikes me as odd- Gill Grunt has 3 different icons.
Now, Universe registers S1, S2, LC and "Special" characters as different. If you direct your attention to say, Sprocket or Cynder, you'll see they have multiple icons (Cynders goes S1, S2 and Special)

However, Gill Grunt has 3. We know one is S1, and another is S2, but the third looks like he's almost glowing. Maybe Gill was originally intended to be the Lightcore for Water? Sonic Boom also appears to have an extra one down farther which I assume is for a different Special, maybe the second one that's registered? There's also a 4th one for Prism Break which may indicate a new chase variant at some point.

Also, as far as we know, this is NOT the icon for the Green Gill Grunt that was in the 360 Bundle, which simply registers as a plain S1 Gill Grunt.


Figured I'd share anyways since it's a pretty cool image for you to play around with.

Well I guess this confirms that the Glitter variants all count as 'Special' in game and as seperate characters on Universe. Even Sonic Boom which had GITD AND Glitter. Very interesting.

The Gill Grunt is also very interesting. Could we be getting a LightCore Gill Grunt in the future?

Also, did anyone else notice the four Prism Breaks?

Simple. Beacuse fire normally glows and Gill Grunt normally does not.

Oh. I thought you were actually replying to my earlier post. Clearly not. I said there are Four Prism Breaks in the picture, but we do not know what the fourth one is.

As for the four Sonic Booms, we have... S1, S2, GITD and Glitter.

And Sprocket... Regular and Glitter.

Maybe it's for that Green Gill Grunt variant that came in some 360 starter pack bundles.

Already has been confirmed that it does not show up as 'Special' in all games. It is simply a real life variant.

There are also 4 Sonic Booms, yet Sonic Boom already has a variant.

Sonic Boom has two variants (Glitter and Glow), S1 and S2.

Could this extra icon of GG mean he's going to be a variant (current or future wave)?

Gill and Prism are either scrapped chase varients or future ones. Eye-Brawl topping it off would be cool.

Hot Head does have two icons in there. Look closely at the bottom-middle of the first column.

Man, this is interesting. Didn't glitter variants just sorta pop outta nowhere? Then maybe there are more variants coming.....

Too bad they won't take the time to update their game to fix the bajillion glitches it has.

When you put on GITD Sonic Boom, it registers the character, but freezes once she loads in.

When you put Jet-Vac (Starter) on, it registers him but freezes at "Summoning Skylander"

When you put L-Ignitor on, it goes through the process of registering him, but the character isn't there, thus you have to reload the game, or it just sits on his registration screen forever.

Guess extra gilly is green gilly. if they count a rock variant or a gitd, then guess green gilly, since he is a nongame variant and tecnically hes out.

if not we can expect the next gtid, rock or glitter variant

Hmm...maybe it's something wrong with your browser? I was able to register all those guys just fine. I usually use Chrome for Universe just because it runs a bit slower on my Firefox.

Prism Breaks should be S1, S2 and LC but that 4th one..maybe the next variant? I would probably guess that whenever a new character variant is made, they might add it to Universe, but it seems weird to me that Gill and Prism Break have unused icons.

My Jet-Vac works fine. I use Chrome aswell.

There are already three GITD variants: Cynder, Fright Rider, and Sonic Boom. And none of them are chase variants either.

Sigh.. Like I said earlier in this very thread, no. This has been confirmed many times. The Green Gill Grunt is just like Flocked Stump Smash or Blue Bash. It is a real life variant. Nothing in game is special about it...

S1 character variants don't register as different. The "special" tag only started in giants.

I don't know if anyone's answered this or not but the Gilgrunt in question refers to a special Gil Grunt that game with the Skylanders Xbox 360 combo. Atleast I think.

The fourth Sonic Boom is most definitely the Glitter one, so you don't need to square it off. Definitely a good idea with labeling them, though.

Now I see that the Gill Grunt maybe is the Exclusive 360 one they had last year.

I know, it just said up there "I only see one Hot Head" or something.

So according to this, we might be getting a new Prism Break and Gill Grunt variant? I hope they won't be console/version exclusives or extremely rare.
