That's an awesome deal. I just got into skylanders and was just going to stick Giants but at that kind of price why not.

Just went to kmart. ALL S:SA is 19.99. Xbox, Wii, Ps3, AND 3DS!!!! Picked up a 3ds cause my son lost his disk and just the diskon ebay goes for more with no figures, portal and of course Dark Spyro. As well as Xbox in case they scratch the original disc. The manager was floored by the cost savings and made me show her the tags on the shelf because it rang up full price. There are big red tags that say $19.99.I should have filled a cart and bought em out and resold em but thats not my style.

The sale started today so it's not in the computer. Go to the store. They have to have the tags on shelf because they won't accept Internet prices instores.

Yeah, pretty much within a half-hour it was "local pickup only" for both the PS3 and 360 versions. Some Kmarts might have offered the 3DS version for $19.99 locally, but I don't think we'll ever know if that was SUPPOSED to be the case or if some stores got their wires crossed - the website never listed the 3DS version as an option.

The PS3 version still is listed as valid for local pickup only, but the 360 version errors out if you check the link. [And yeah, the PS3 errors out if you try to add the game to your cart, but I have no idea how equipped the Kmat site is to let you "hold" items for local pick-up only because I've never used it for anything.]

Sadly, I didn't have a conveniently close-by Kmart to check, and the closest source confirming PS3 availability is over 25 miles away. But hopefully at least a FEW people managed to solve their Dark Spyro problems.

Have you tried to add them to your cart?

I keep getting the "This item is not available for purchase at this time" pop up window, followed by the "This item is temporarily unavailable.To find a similar item, scroll down or enter a term in the search box above."

Could anyone please verify this is what they are seeing?

I called both nearby stores and they are not honoring the $19.99 price, unless you can do an in-store pickup order online, which I currently cannot. Their sale is $49.99 on all the starter packs in store.

I dont think that the 3DS versions were suppose to be 19.99, when they tried to ring mine up it wouldnt work and they had to over ride the register to make it work. I got lucky because they had the shelf marked for 19.99, since stores make there own labels i think it was just a mistake some of them made.

Yeah, that makes sense. Most store clerks are equally ignorant when it comes to Skylanders, Barbie, Lego or the Shoes Department, both in terms of content and sales going on, so occasionally you can get lucky and get a sale on something you shouldn't have been able to.


Usually, though, that lack of knowledge just spreads fake information on when figures come out. "Hot Dog? A burning dog? Oh, yeah, I saw that on the shelf this morning. It might still be there, I don't remember selling it."

What that clerk remembers, of course, is the PICTURE of Hot Dog in the 45+ Skylanders To Collect section on the back of the Lightcore Eruptor box. But the consumer, wanting to be the first to let the rest of the world know, spreads an urban legend by posting "Wave Three Is Out!!!!111 The guy at the store PERSONALLY put Hot Dog on the shelf today!"

We'll hear a variation on THAT tale a lot over the next couple weeks. Heh.

Weather they were supposed to be on sale or not is irrelevant. There's two things here : in store and online. If online prices can't be used instores then instores prices can't be used online. They are independent of each other although the sales coincide. Also, the ring up price is not always in the computer. So they override the original price with the sale price that's on the shelf. That's not an indicator that they were not supposed to be on sale. Just my thoughts.

My Kmart only had PS3 versions and there was no sticker for $19.99 sale price.

I know at target it had to do with supply within the individual stores. This is different but for example target had certain tvs on sale online but not in stores cause most stores never carry it. If you worked at a store that did then your day was effed. I don't agree with it just putting out one reasoning.

Does anyone know if there is an actual print ad/circular for this? Be very easy to take it over to TRU and price match as at least in my case TRU has a much bigger selection.

There was no paper ad i could find around me that had it showing the 19.99 price, only place i seen that it was 19.99 is on here or the kmart website.

Just came from my Kmart and they were ALL $69.99... I asked the electronics guy about the sales at other Kmarts and he said his register rings them up at this price and that's all he knows.... UGH this is why Kmart is becoming extinct to the Walmarts and Targets of the world... too bad there wasn't an ad I could whip out to show him what's up...

Nobody's disputing that you got it at that price , the question is whether that's an official sale price anyone should be able to get, or a deal you got because the store didn't know any better when pricing their content.

The fact that everyone that's acquired a $19.99 3DS game mentioned that the store clerk had to override the register settings leads me to believe it was only ever intended to be for the PS3/360 versions as shown on-line.

Hard to say, though, because the on-line site doesn't even acknowledge that a 3DS version EXISTS.

Here's the rumor:

This was a mistake on KMart's part. I think they have a system issue regarding their advertising/pricing. I can confirm that the store had them advertised at $19.99. I double and triple checked the sale tag to make sure there was no mistake. PS3, XBOX and 3DS....all $19.99.

When I went to pay, it rung up at $49.99. I explained that it was advertised at $19.99. They checked and then came back and gave me the sale price. But I also overheard the manager tell the sales rep to take down the sale signs.

The rumor is, it's suppose to be $20 off. Instead, they sold them for $20.

Although I recognize this is KMart's mistake, if true, they need to be better about correcting these things faster. How am I suppose to know they made a mistake. As a consumer, it's a great deal, so of course I'm going to buy it.

What makes the deal even sweeter...my kids recently misplaced Dark Spyro. So I was able to replace it for cheap.

Just to be clear. I'm not tring to argue. However the shelf tags were marked as on sale, $19.99, for each system separately, showing sku numbers for each, showing the "a $50 savings". And the manager explained that it was the first day if the sale and not everything was in the computer. If for whatever reason this should not have been on sale as you seem to be saying then ok, but I purchased these items by all the above board rules. I didn't switch anything or lie or cheat. The items were purchased at the advertised instore on shelf price.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I stopped at three K-Marts on my way home from work last night. One of the three had the sale prices. (Interestingly enough, that one is actually the original K-Mart in Garden City, MI.) I was able to pick up PS3 & 3DS versions for myself, plus a couple more for Christmas presents. Would've bought more too if they'd had more.

Seems easy to believe it was supposed to be $20 off rather than just $20. The other two stores had them for $49.99, $20 off the normal $69.99.

Well, crud. There's really only one KMart near me (Salem, OR) and I just called them and they told me that they don't have ANYTHING left from S:SA, everything they have, even the figures are only from Giants. So some of the stores must have cleared their S:SA stuff out a while ago. I really wanted a Skylanders game for the 3DS if I could get a deal. Maybe TRU or Walmart will mark theirs down soon and I can snag one before the scalpers.

No such luck for me for the 3ds version. I'd pay 19.99 to get a dark spyro.

I found a Kmart that had them at 19.99 but they only had them for Ps3 even though I only own an Xbox 360 I bought it anyways hoping I could exchange at another Kmart. I tried it tonight without the receipt thinking that if saw what I paid that wouldn't take it. Unfortunately they wouldn't do an exchange without a receipt . Should I try to return it with the receipt and see if they will exchange straight up?

Also is it worth it to just hold onto the figures? Was there any difference between the two systems?
