I only order from TRU when I have lots to buy at once and can earn free shipping, but that is pretty rare, only if they get a bunch of new Skylanders in all at once--that's how I got all of Wave 1 for Giants.

I'm willing to pay an extra five bucks for shipping if it means I don't have to go hunting on my lunch hour for weeks, ultimately spending way more cash on gasoline.

Hehe while I completely agree, and am a Prime member as well... I won't buy my Skylanders through Amazon for the same reason I won't through ebay, it's a site that is supporting scalpers via 3rd party sales. Just personal preference.

Picked mine up at Game Stop a couple days ago, my only luck has been at Game Stop or Toys R Us

Gamestop is where I have gotten all my wave 1 and wave 2 stuff. Bought a couple of things at TRU to take advantage of the b1g140% off but other than that and the store exclusives Gamestop in my area has the most stock. Hope this helps.

Me too--that's not even an option for me, since I don't have a car. But if I can choose between the site that offers me "free" two day shipping (by virtue of my Prime membership) rather than having to pay for it, I'll go with the free one.

If TRU had been my only option, I wouldn't have blinked at it since Hot Head is the only one I'm missing from Wave 2. I've been checking every day, and Hot Head never appeared with the ship-to-home option enabled, so I was thrilled to get it at Amazon.

I was at one of my TRU yesterday and some lady had gotten there about 2 minutes before me and this other guy looking for hot head. They had six hot heads for sale, she went up and grabbed them all and turned to me and the other guy and gave her ebay name and stated that she would be selling these for 35 dollars with free shipping and they would be up in about an hour.

The manager heard this and while the lady was in line he went up and told her that she would have to limit herself to four as she had done this same thing the previous week to some other people. She was not a happy camper to say the least. We ended up getting our hot heads due to the manager at TRU being nice and atleast attempting to stop one scalper somewhat from doing this.

Geez some people. Thankfully hothead has bottomed out to 28.00 shipped on eBay. One more week and he'll be down to 22-25. Seems like a lot of work just to make 10 bucks. Seriously is it even worth it? Goof balls

I agree. I wrote a letter on the TRU website about this situation. I can not stand the people that do this. I of course wanted Hot Head. Same with me. If a little kid wanted a Skylander, and I had the only one I would give him it. I'm seventeen I don't need it, I rather have a kid be happy and have fun. I'm glad both of you got one.

I wish this would work for me. I saw yesterday morning that they had some for sale, come to find out that my bank blocks all of the transactions from the state that TRU processes orders from. Due to fraud. I tried to look up where they are from and it said New Jersey which is one of the states my bank blocks the transactions from, however by the time I got it unblocked they were all gone.

I would think that they would put more in the stores as it creates more foot traffic in the stores and maybe more impulse buys, rather then putting them up for sale on the interwebs.

Stopping scalpers is the main reason I want to work at toysrus (I'm 15) at least until I move out of my parents house
I have experience with those butt munchers and I hate their guts, and every other part of their insidious walking sacks of idiocy that they call bodies, I mean are they heartless enough to take a hot head or any other skylander opportunity away from a kid that actually wants to play with the toy?! It's just sad that this is the fate of so many skylander toys, just being sent around the world just for $30-$40? It's not right, the limit should not be 4, it should be 2. I admire that manager for stepping up and doing something, but the limit should be wayyyy less than that.

Lol, this whole story reminds me of the same situation in Target last year, the day that Camo and Warnado released. Lady shoved everything the store had in her cart. I arrived in electronics JUST as she was putting the last Camo in her cart, and she had ... just... ridiculous amounts of them, maybe 10-12 Camo/Warnado.. each. So, there was a kid, maybe 17 or 18 years old, working electronics and he saw myself and a mother there looking to buy some for our kids... and so he told the lady she couldn't buy them all and that 2 of each would have to suffice. Well she got all huffey puffenstuff and got in the kids face saying she had the right as she got to them first and... well she may have had a valid point, but when the Target kid went to take some out of her cart for us she shoved him, he slipped and fell on the floor... and the manager had her arrested for assault. It was such a great day, I always wish I had thought to pull my phone out and make a great youtube video of the whole thing.


Super thumbs up to employees like that, and I not only emailed Target corporate, I also called them to let them know what an outstanding young man they have working their electronics department.


That memory is called to mind every time I am in line for some Skylanders. I hope she got nailed with some good fines and court fees for her nonsense, teach her that it wasn't worth the couple hundred in profit she would have made to sit there and be such a jerk to reasonable people.

That is an epic story. I just can't believe these people exist. I'm glad to see employees stoping Scalpers. Honestly, there is a special place reserved in H*** for scalpers, child molesters, and people who talk in the theater.

Was pretty slow so I could just hover around there til I trickled em all out. Once had someone ask for all of our skylanders stock when lightning rod came out. Told him that there was "a limit of one per scalp... Person." He asked the manager and the manager told him "I let the electronics guys handle the fairness of releases an deals. Sounds like you're trying to take advantage of something so I suggest Walmart."

Those were the days. My coworkers thought I was crazy at first but then would call me at home when guests had questions about skylanders. It was my thing.

Scalpers are so infuriating. I've been trying to hunt down just one variant, for the thrill of finding it, but I've pretty much written it off, due to scalpers. Sigh. Sad to know people even have trouble finding Hot Head, a normal giant.

I wish I could just help people find what they need, at cost + shipping. Down with the crappy people.

Honestly, the reward was when a kid would run up to me and plead "do ya have (any skylander) " and I could grab it off the shelf and see their face light up. It's the best feeling in the world.

Just be patient... I was going to buy wave 2 on ebay, but i was in future shop last night chatting with an employee I know pretty well. Then after about 10 minutes of standing there i spot hot head. The guy told me they only got one of him in so far. Then I went to walmart and found Flashwing. I found sprocket last week, and L-stealth elf. So I'm pleased I didnt use ebay. Only way i'll use ebay is for limited variants i cant get here.

I just found one today at Wal-Mart. Someone stuck him way in the back under the stores portal and screen. Someone is going to be disappointed when they go back for him.

The scalpers tick me off royally when it comes to these figures. I only hope that when the new ones come out (if they come out before xmas) that TRU doesn't limit how many of one figure you can get because of them. I would end up screwed (I have 3 kids I'm shopping for that aren't mine and they all want Eyebrawl).
