The price of some Skylanders is ridiculous. Earlier on I found a Dark Spyro for 65.95 ON AMAZON. If youve seen any really high priced Skylanders post them here

I know this is about ebay gouging, but man, remember when most stores sold Skylanders for $8 and 3-packs for $20 last year? I'll eat it of course, but I'm not a fan of the MSRP price hike.

^ You said it DocCroc!! I was pretty bummed when TRU's more "expensive" skylanders prices ($10.99 and $24.99 vs. $7.99 and $17.00 at Sam's Club) became "the norm" everywhere this time!! Oh well, such is inflation... lol

Oh god. Single packs still cost $9.99 here, so it'll probably get higher? Screw you, TRU, but I guess an extra dollar or 2 is better than an extra 15 + bucks.

I for one, actually defend eBay to a point. I mean, its an auction site. It a Gnarly Tree Rex goes for $300, its because there's someone willing to pay that much for it. Its a bidding system. I do not respect, however, the amazon.com sellers who overpriced items just because of rarity. But on the topic of rarity, I understand to a point the increase in retail price of skylanders. We had a shortage of characters last year no? Anyone that knows the concept of supply and demand can know that the slight increase from last year is due to the high demand they did not anticipate for the figures.

thats why i think the skylanders fandom should refuse to buy figures for a few months. maybe it would see a drop in price of the skylanders, or at least more sales that clear the shelves. But this will never happen because people are constantly willing to buy it for the price listed.

tl;dr - Activision marketing > Us

I completely agree with you on your points about eBay and Amazon, but there's something that completely destroys your argument of "it's what someone bid, so they're willing to pay it"===> Minimum bid. Therefore, eBay, is EXACTLY the same as Amazon in that regard. Scalpers can set the minimum on anything they want. They can even have a $0.01 starting bid, and cancel the auction if the item only goes to say $40, and they expected at least $75.

There's just really no .. one is better than the other in terms of websites: It's the dirtbags scalping things that are the issue.

Well scalpers are dirty because they hoard all the variants and take all the rares. Once it hits the internet, I feel it's subject to whatever the demand for that product is. If I wanted to sell my S2 Cynder for $200 and someone was willing to buy it, I'm not going to set the price at $9.99 in good faith. I'm going to try and get the best buyer who wants to drop the most cash. Do you blame people for selling it for so much, or are you mad at the person for buying it for so much. There is a difference.

I've bought two Skylanders on eBay thus far. One was loose Voodood for $8, which is a fantastic price. Loose Skylanders aren't coveted nearly as much among collectors as ones who remain sealed in their blister packs. My second purchase was a sealed Camo. I couldn't find any loose ones at the time, and the auction closing times always conflicted with my working hours. I hastily bid on one to just get him before Thanksgiving. Anyhow, I paid a pretty decent $20 for him. Coincidently enough, I found a Camo/Ignitor/Warnado triple pack at Toys R Us later that month. I was so tempted to purchase it and resell it on eBay, just to ease my frustration. I took a few deep breaths and walked off my anger. I couldn't find it in myself to be part of the scalping problem.

It may be against forum rules but when I sell my old Skylanders and 3DS games on eBay, I'll let everyone in this community know first. I'll list my products under "Best Offer" and give a nice discount to someone on here. At least then I'll know they'll go to a good place and you all can obtain what you want without paying stupid scalped prices.
