I for one, found the rust beard battle in the 3ds version very hard! I was using Cynder and tree Rex it took me 4 tries to finally beat him! He even got glitched and kept shooting those gears for 2 minutes! So unfair!

I heard the battle was like Kaos in SSA. I have yet to play the 3DS version.

I dont feel bad after reading aura's comment, one who never played the 3ds version wouldn't know, there's 2 giant bosses in the game, squid beard (laughably easy) and rust beard (friggin hard!) then frightbeard (easy)

Because the Frightbeard battle has a huge area you can dodge his attacks on. Sure they're huge and do a lot of a damage, but you still have a lot of room to get away.

Squidbeard is just an oversized enemy really.

Rustbeard on the other hand spams enemies and exploding gears that have a rather large range and do RIDICULOUS damage. And you barely have much room to dodge, especially since the area you're fighting in has rather large spots of acid that you need to avoid. And this of course is when he's not in melee range. When he IS in melee range, he has a hard to predict attack that does a very large amount of damage (it can one shot underleveled Skylanders) and it comes out of almost nowhere, you have a very small time frame to get away.

Well this one was indeed harder to do but if you get the timing right it's not that hard. You need a very strong melee fighter and a ranged one. First strike him until the electrical current flows through him and he sort of collapses. Then get some distance and attack him with your ranged attacker until he does his strong attack. Once he does he will either get back up or stay where he's at. If he stays where he's at another Strong attack is on the way. if he gets back up then close in on him with your melee attacks and hammer away at him once he collapses get a safe distance from him again. Repeat the process until he's dead.
