How much are loose figures worth? [CLOSED]

I have every figure and battle pack released to date sans the variants (though I do have Gold Flameslinger, Granite Crusher and Dark Spyro) but I don't think I'm going to be able to keep up my collection and I don't even have my PS3 to play Giants on anymore.

Was curious if anyone has any experience selling Skylanders on ebay and what a decent price would be if I decide to sell my collection.

Well you should have to sell for less than it cost, depending on the rarity of the figure (e.g. Gill Grunt:common Warnado: sorta rare).

you can give it to me for free. id be happy to take it.lol just kidding. if you have s1 ignitor, camo, warnado, or voodood, those are worth probably 10$ each, and common starter pack guys are probably worht around 5$. the others are in between, are worth 6-8$

For the most part, you'll always get more if you take the time and sell individual figures as opposed to one bulk collection. Even loose Tree Rexes sometimes go for over $10 on Ebay as long as they have the sticker and unused code - which shows just how many uninformed parents must be buying these things.

"Complete sets" of Spyro's Adventure (including a loose game, portal, all 32 figures and the four locations and eight items) seem to run for about $300 in auctions. Whereas people who try a Buy It Now STARTING at that price may not get a buyer.

A complete collection with overlapping figures from Spyro's Adventure and Giants is a specialized market - you won't get many parents or gamers interested, and selling three versions of Flameslinger in the same package would reduce their value.

You might have the most luck selling a "Spyro's Adventure" set, a "Giants" set and Gold Flameslinger / Dark Spyro by themselves. It's hard to say if it'd be best to do that now and guarantee delivery for the holidays, or wait until the new year.

A Warnado / Dino-Rang / Sunburn / Camo / Voodood / Boomer / Ghost Roaster / Wham-Shell package might sell for a decent price a half-year from now. But if you wait too long, it's pretty much guaranteed that all eight of them will come back in new poses for Skylanders 3, at which point their value will decrease.

... Skylanders shouldn't need to BE like the stock market. smilie

I'd say the rarer ones (Ones that weren't reposed) Should sell for 10-11 dollars. The starter pack fellows should be 5, and everyone else just put 6-9 depending on their popularity.

Zap is about $20 loose right now.

People would happily pay for most of the S1s not being redone. Just wait a little bit. Try to time it before it will be confirmed they are in the next, but parents not knowing any better who only got giants are going to start getting desperate and willing to $15 or so for a loose figure.

Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you.

Yeah one of the decisions I was having the most trouble with was whether to sell SA as a set or to split them up based on rarity. I know I'm going to do Giants separate from SA.

Ah, you should've kept them in the packaging. Would've been worth a hell of a lot more. That's why I haven't opened my stuff. I might sell my collection right before I die though, lol.

Also, if you end up changing your mind about selling your collection, there are many other uses for your figures. Such as Skylanders Universe on the website which is free, Skylanders Lost Islands, and Skylanders Battlegrounds on the iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad. And if you haven't played either of the Skylanders titles on the Nintendo 3DS yet, you've gotta. Personally I think the 3DS games are way better and more fun than the console versions.

Well it's not so much that I don't have a use for my figures I've just decided to put my priorities in a different place. Yeah hell of a time to decide that after buying every flippin' figure. But I have an addictive personality when it comes to collecting. I tried to tell myself no S2 reposes and ended up getting S2 Chop Chop in the Shroomboom triple pack and it was all downhill from there.

Heh. Yep, right there with you on that. And before you know it, it reaches the point of, "Hmmm, I don't have a NON-Golden Dragonfire Cannon, maybe I should try and pick up a loose one of those on eBay ..."

I'm still waiting for the day that my investment pays off and they release Skylanders Legends - a more action-heavy game with a bit more strategy and customizability, where everyone can level to 100. Sorta like "Skylanders: Diablo" but for a younger audience.

I fear I may be waiting for quite some time. smilie

And honestly, if I decide to pass the figures on to other people and make back about 80% of what I paid, the other 20% could be considered a worthwhile investment to have something to "hunt" for. Going out a few times a week to wonder if an elusive Skylander might finally show up is a weird sort of fun in its own right.

Yeah I feel you, lol. That's what happened with me in the beginning when I randomly decided to purchase the Spyro's Adventure bundle pack. I only bought it out of curiosity because I kept seeing the toys at every store and none of my friends knew what it was. I was like, "This looks kinda cool. I mean using toys to play a game? I've never seen that before. I've got extra money. I'm gonna give this a try. If the game is stupid then I'll just return it". Five minutes later after playing the game, "Okay I need to go buy some more toys right now!"

[Googles "Skylanders Legends"] Yo man, that game doesn't exist yet. You crazy! Haha, I'm really hoping that too one day. When they realize that more adults play Skylanders and decide to make a new darker title that's more Diablo-like with the addition of blood, multiplayer and maybe an Item Store where players could sell extremely rare hats for cash. A Skylanders MMORPG. That'll be the day.
