It probably burnt out. That's the main flaw with the lights.

these are led's and they have many, many hours of life in them.

the wires inside the giants and lightcores are very thin. it is more likely that one of the wires has broken or come loose from the chip in the base of the figure.

as has already been suggested, contact activision and they will arrange for a replacement to be sent to you
