Why leave one Skylanders in every element out?

It´s not like they would have made more.

Let´s take Magic for example.

Spyro s2
Wrecking ball s2
Double Trouble s2

Then we have the new ones
Pop Fizz
Ninjini

And the "all-new" light core.
LightCore Pop Fizz

Some elements like Tech have Drobot s2 and LightCore Drobot

Why is the one left out not LightCore, or the most popular?

I would have done:
Voodood s2
Wrecking ball s2
Double trouble s2
Pop Fizz
Ninjini
LightCore Spyro

6 new one but no-one left out.

One would think that's what they SHOULD have done, but alas.

In retrospect, I kind of guess it's so they can continue to have some left over for the next game to repose and remake.

Indeed, some of their decisions aren't really "logical." Of the eight excluded characters, why didn't they exclude all FOUR of the 'with accessories' ones? Instead, not only did they leave out Wham-Shell and release a Series 2 Slam Bam without the Empire of Ice, they FURTHER made a Legendary version of Slam Bam on top of that!

And with the lightcores, why are half of them lightcores of NEW figures? (You'll notice THOSE at least, have been timed "correctly." Jet-Vac is the only one that was available early on, and by the time Shroomboom, Pop Fizz and Chill have Lightcore versions, much of their market will have bought normal versions.)

The "forgotten eight," of course, will all have reposes and either a Lightcore or a Variant released with Skylanders III. Unless sales of characters like Dino-Rang and Sunburn were so low that they just want to leave them forgotten in the sands of time ...

You think they will come in Skylanders 3? I was thinking they wouldn't come back - that they would slowly phase out the original characters and introduce new ones- save for a few favorites like Spyro who they will keep around.

What would have lit up on Spyro though? His antlers? Some figures are more realistic for Lightcore than others.

There's a finite number of figures they can realistically expect collectors to be willing to purchase - and re-purchase - every year. 48 (about one a week) is a realistic number.

The forgotten eight only have a single version, whereas most of the rest of the non-giant cast will have at least THREE figures out, if you include Lightcores, Legendaries, official variants and "reskins." So they'll all come back - if for no other reason than it's eight more characters to have people collect without needing to add eight more character models in-game.

I expect Skylanders III to have 16 giants and 32 standard figures. Eight new giants, eight old giants with reposes and a new move, eight new standard-size figures and 24 old standard-size figures (including the Forgotten One from each element). Lightcores may exist again as an option, but they won't be on the official "gotta catch 'em all" sheet.

Protip: I'm often VERY wrong in my predictions.

The horns, the chest, and the eyes. The eyes would make a cool effect for a Lightcore Dark Spyro. (Having a Lightcore Dark figure sounds a little silly, but hey, it didn't stop Hex.)

Spyro, of course, didn't need a Lightcore - he'll have four figures already once his Series Two comes out. Numerically, he'd be omitted in Skylanders III, but his popularity will protect him from that - either Pop Fizz or Double Trouble will be missing from Skylanders III because they both have three figures. (Or they both will if my above math proves true; you'd have Spyro, Voodood, Wrecking Ball and a new figure.)

They should have 16 Old ones, 8 of everyone's favorite (each element) and the non reposed.
