The only odd thing with the late release is how they blatantly advertise some of the nonexistant Skylanders. Hot Dog is prominently displayed on the Lost Islands intro screen, and Thumpback has at least one TV commercial that I've seen where he's the main "spokesman."
Or maybe that IS their plan - to force parents to go out searching for Skylanders that they'll never be able to find until they just give up and buy whatever they CAN track down. Then they'll have to go out AGAIN after the holidays because they "didn't get the right ones" and buy MORE figures.
Whereas TRU can't seem to figure out from one hour to the next if they have Thumpback "in stores" or not. Given how they show Hot Head, I suspect the answer is a resounding no:
