I can't speak for other Wal-Marts, but as of late it seems the starter packs they're now sending us no longer feature the GITD portal or Cynder, and instead just the regulars. The GITD starter kick has also phased out on the website too.

Gotta say that lasted longer than expected.

Glad I ordered the 3DS starter pack with the GITD Cynder. Right now we won't know which are the sought after figures until we hit Jan. My prediction is all of the new characters including all giants will be sold out by January thus creating the frenzy which we saw last year. I also predict the Sidekicks set to hit close to $200 either before or after Christmas.

And, that is why I bought a copy of the game for each system from Walmart. I had a feeling they wouldn't be around forever. Those GITD portals rock awesome. Such a shame late adopters are missing out on them.

Got mine on Black Friday #clutch

I pre-ordered 2 of them! 1 for my unopened collection and the other for the kid.

I hate to admit it but I bought my sidekicks from evilbay. Thankfully it only cost me about $70. I bought them BEFORE Giants was released so I didn't get screwed to badly.

Do packages with a GID Cynder also contain a GID portal, or does it have to be labeled as such?

^All GITD starter packs have both GITD Cynder and portal.

Bought one for a friend who didn't need it in the end. Decided to sell it on eBay and ended up losing money. I couldn't believe it. It was the only copy on eBay in the UK and I ended up selling it for £3 under the retail price before postage and fees were deducted. Gutted!

I'm sure that friend will find some way to pay you back for the kindness you offered. Perhaps an extra Sidekick free of charge or if Frito-Lay offers another promo besides the Sidekicks, perhaps that friend will hook you up with one of them free of charge.

My question still stands as no matter who reneged on the original deal, wideawakewesley could have set a minimum EBay reserve to ensure that they were not out of pocket. After all, the EBay transaction had nothing to do with the original reneg.

I find that items that start at 99p generally sell for higher prices than one's with minimum guarantee's. Also, I think there are extra fees.

I'd never expect any such generosity. I took a gamble and it backfired on me. Unintentional scalping is definitely not for me.

Last season I sold tons of Skylanders and made a killing.

Thankfully I pretty much set my price and people paid.

However when the demand for a skylander went down I would set the bid min at 10% over MY cost and added $3 us for shipping on Singles and $4.50 on Triples.

Never lost a dime.

FYI: I am not selling any this time. Though I made a killing it was also a major pain in the butt. Not to mention most skylanders are flooding the stores.

Yeah, I think these aren't going to be able to get what they used to.

I say this, because I went to TRU and they don't get trucks until Friday, but I saw some Hot Heads sitting on the shelf, as well as Lightcore Jet Vacs, wave 2 triple packs, L-Stealth Elfs, and wave 2 singles. These must have came in on their truck last Friday.

Best of all, I saw 8 boxes of wave 2 Giants, 15 boxes of wave 2 singles, and 2 boxes of wave 2 triples above the TRU futureshop (their main display when you walk in).

Looks like TFB really meant it when they said they would keep up with demand. 8 boxes of wave 2 Giants? On top of the handful of Hot Heads I saw sitting there, they had 16 more above the Skylanders display. Gives me hope for wave 3 and beyond.

Well, in this case it didn't so that is a risk you take, I suppose. Also, the fee is based on the final price and if the item does not sell, there is no fee for non-commercial sellers.

And, for the record, I mean a reserve price on an auction, not a Buy Now item.

No, for all of the consoles (well, not WiiU) as well.

I got the game the day it came out and then when the GITD portal/Cynder came from Amazon Germany (PAL verison as I am in Australia and can't use the US NTSC version) I simply sold the original on EBay. Did not lose a dime as I got the original price matched and a fair bit cheaper, in the first place.
