Sidekick question [CLOSED]

So I'm trying to decide whether or not it is worth it to buy the four sidekicks, but I have a question:

Do they count in the console game as seperate characters? My total is 91 right now, would the sidekicks bump that up to 95? And do they count toward the 99 total in the 3DS game?

Thanks!

You should keep an eye on the prices for the sidekicks. The going price for a set has increased from $25-$50+. It could go either way after Christmas but I would not be surprised if it hits close to the $200 per set. I think $100 is a good price for the set considering how much effort it would take to get a set.

Yah if you could get them for $100 you're lucky since they are going for over $150 on a pretty regular basis now

I order mine November 2. I'm just worried I'm going to get duplicates and have to pay a lot on eBay.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay that much for them. All they do is follow you around. That is it. I was able to get my direct from Frito Lay. I wouldn't give 200 bucks for them tho,.

You wouldn't but a lot of people will. People are paying for $200 for some of the hard to find variants and this is a good indication of the higher value of some of the more collectible figures which people are will to pay a premium for. Some people like me do not want to go through the hassle of doing the promotion. I'd rather get it all in one go and pay the premium rather than do the trading or purchasing the figures separately which ultimately could be the same cost as buying all figures as a package deal.

Sure you can say that these could be worthless or would degrade in value in the near future but it can also be worth more. I can tell you that with the official announcement of the 2nd round of sidekick figures that these figures will gain more value and with the potential of the 3rd game then we might be seeing more exclusive and promotional figures gaining more value in the long run.

I ordered mine from Frito Lay in the summer and only had to order them once. To me spending 10 dollars to get these was the way better idea. I just hear that people get these and they expect them to be a magical item that does something. They are often disappointed when they don't. I collect these things. Mine are still in the package, however I couldn't justify spending almost a third of my mortgage payment for a month on these things.

It just comes to show that getting these at the beginning of the promotion would have saved some people a lot of money.

In my area, bags were about $7 with tax, so $28 for the four bags. Then $8 for shipping and what... 2-3 stamps, if even that, so $37 total. So anyone who would rather pay up to $163 more dollars than "going through the hassle of doing the promotion" is a fool. I sometimes wonder how people can spend o much money on toys, especially when there are cheaper ways of getting said toys.

I can not agree more. It is not like these were "chase" variants. I ended up eating all the chips anyways so I don't really include those in the cost of the figures. I can understand a bit more spending 60 bucks on a GITD figure, just not 200 on the sidekicks that in worst case cost 40 bucks.

Please factor in overseas purchasers who had no chance of simply buying some chips and sending in a form.

Agreed. If you don't have the promotion in your country, then you don't have the opportunity to buy the chips, so it doesn't apply.

i put on 1 stamp for each so...

6.50 x4 + 8 = $14.50 + 2 =

so..... $36.00 in total. not that much money.

I got all four Sidekicks.
From a normal player standpoint, don't buy them for 50 and higher, as a collectors, don't spend more then 500.

It's your money though, spend it however you want. This is just some advice.
