I'd guess they forgot to put them out last night and just found the case. Unfortunately, I imagine there are quite a few stores that this has happened at. The first store I went to last night looked at me like I was an alien when I asked about them.

They aren't that rare. They're an item that was just released.
If you found a Glitter variant, that's extremely rare.

I had seen the entire rack where Giants belong full of Hot Heads...I was annoyed mainly because I don't care for Hot Head and was hoping to get Swarm at that time....

Lucky, I can find 10-20 Wham-Shells in one store yet I can't find a single Hot Head...

Oh last week I found like 3 Wham-Shells at my second nearest Target (Where I got my Flashwing and Sprocket...) and one of them......


HAD THE ENTIRE BOX OF IT CRUSHED LIKE A SODA CAN WITH ONLY CRAB-LIKE PIECES AND A BROKEN BASE INSIDE!!!! THE HORROR!!!!!
Though I didn't want one anyway and/or liked Wham-Shell at all...(All I cared about on that visit to Target was finding either Flashwing and Sprocket or Pop Fizz and Swarm.....But I saved myself the 5 extra bucks from Swarm...)

I found a whole cart full next to the main Skylanders display at my Walmart, there must of been around 40 or 50! I didn't get any though.

My Dad bought me one for Christmas after I lectured him on how rare it was, they had over 50 there and over 40 XBox bundle units. I begged my mom for that but to no avail hopefully I get one for Christmas xD I'll post pics later i'll just have to create a Black Friday topic.

They are about as rare as GITD Cynder Starter Packs, so no, not that rare. Some stores may not have them though.

The GITD variants aren't rare as such, they're just exclusive to certain stores.
