It's possible that some people were burnt by waves of red Drill Sergeants cluttering the shelves and didn't see the difference here. Honestly, if I were ordering, I'd probably have considered that myself. Not saying I'd have acted on it, but the only reason I wouldn't is that I'm a part of the Skylanders community and can recognize the difference between this and a red Drill Sergeant in terms of desirability.

That to. I have previous walmart experience, and Im also apart of the Skylanders community. So I see both sides of the coin very vividly. And I can see where a Manager will look in the system, see "Exclusive Skylander Figure GLOW IN THE DARK RUSH" (RUSH being the term they use for Black Friday) and all he would think is "Oh wait. We already have the exclusives in the bins. Hell. We dont even know what to do with them all!"

And in the end order only 1 or 2 cases for good measure. Leaving the store with 24 GitD Sonic Boom versus other stores with 100+. And, of course, some stores will see it as "Oh! Good! More Exclusive Skylanders. We should order 10 cases, im sure they'll all sell!" (and of course they DO sell)

Walmart in Peachtree City, GA had tons of GITD Sonic Boom figures. This is today at 1130am. I got one. I also saw Sprocket and Flashwing amongst all the other figures.

I get all points in this. I used to work in retail and realize somethings happen. However, I just feel that either on the management at a store level or at the corporate level their should have been more planning on to making sure every store atleast got some of the product. It seems that the stores I had gone to, except for the one that I found them at, had no idea what I was talking about. That is what bugs me about this situation.

^ And rightfully so. Just because there are valid reasons, it doesn't necessarily mean the situation is automatically just. There are valid reasons for a lot of ethically unsound stuff. I totally see where you're coming from.

Heads up the Walmart in niles MI had a ton of gitd sonic boom, about 10 hot heads and plenty of all series 2 including LC jet-vac.

My store said they had about 5 but had already been sold.

Went back to walmart..... 3 times today.

1st was to get my GitD Sonic Boom.

2nd time was when my mother called me asking about good Black Friday deals. I told her about the Xbox bundle. She asked if I had an Xbox. I told her no. She sent me to walmart with her card so I could buy it for myself to wrap as an Xmas gift for later. (so yay, I have an Xbox and green gill now)

3rd time. I got home with Xbox. She looked at it and asked "...wait.. HOW MUCH was that after tax?" "$161.29. Why? You have the receipt!" "No no no no. Go get another one!" "...another?" "Yea!! Thats an awesome gift for really cheap! I have a kid I need to buy for. This is perfect!"
So yay....3rd trip to walmart. 2nd Xbox bought in one day.

Here's my story. I strolled into Walmart around 8PM. It looked like people go in early because on my way in through the parking lock, people were leaving with their loot.

I walked back to electronics to look for the Xbox, only to find out it was in a different section. While I was there, I looked for the GiTD Sonic Boom...no where to be seen. I picked up an xBox and then headed back to the electronics. I asked about it and they said, "Oh...we have plenty in the back". 5 minutes later, she's walking out with 3 large boxes of them. The box was marked "GiTD". No one else seemed to be looking for them. I grabbed 4. I'm going to guess 1 box had 20 or more. It wasn't the typical box I've seen Skylanders in. It was a long rectangular box. So if one box had 20, then she had at least 60 in front of me. If not more.

Don't trust the employees. If one says they don't have it, find someone else and point it out on the flyer. It's probably there, but in the back somewhere.

On a side note, I stopped by a 2nd Walmart and they had 2 pallets FULL of Xbox at 10:30 ish PM. The first store was out by 9PM. Strange how it was so popular at one store but not at the other.

I didn't see any of the XBox bundles but I only was in the Skylanders section. So, they were probably at the 2 Wal-Marts that I went to, I just didn't see them. Although, I wasn't looking for them but they weren't in any of the aisles that I took to get to the electronics. An earlier poster said that the pallet of GITD were in the dairy section. Yeah, that's exactly where people would look for them.

Every store is different. It just depends on how much space your store has.

My GitD Sonic booms were pegged in the usual Skylanders Displays.

The Xbox bundles you see in the pic were just on the outskirts of electronics.

Finally foun the GITD Sonic Boom in the next town over. Picked up 3, one for me, my girlfriend, and my nephew. Should've got 4 so I could open one and keep the other sealed.

Went to a Walmart today. I asked a few employees and was told by all of them that "They're probably all sold out". I walked around a bit and saw a separate Skylanders standee with a bunch of singles and lo and behold, the bottom was filled with glow Sonic Booms.

They had to have at least 20 or so down there on the bottom of it. I grabbed 2 for myself.

Just called my walmart and they said they have 13 by the connection center. So I'll be heading that way in like 20 minutes to snag one. Hopefully they'll still have some

About the XBOX 360 Skylander bundle Pack

I have thought about buying a second XBOX 360 so the boys aren't fighting over the damn thing but the 4GB hard drive is an just stupid. I would have to upgrade it the moment I get home and I already have the old skylander game.

For the serious hardcore collector this isn't a bad deal but for someone just wanting to buy their kid a rare skylander toy, there are cheaper options out there for you.

the walmart i went to directed me to 6 different areas, then i finally found the store manager. he just brought all of the skylanders out from the back and they had one box of them. no one in the entire store had ANY idea what they were. "where is this *show them in the ad*" "skylanders are over by the game case" "yes i know but i was told they arent there" "well then we must be sold out" or theyre in the back you idiots.

24 hour Walmart near in-laws had none on the sales floor nor willing to help (website said otherwise) while a smaller Walmart near my house had like 6 dozen or so.

It's no wonder they have so many. Last year's game, a minor cosmetic alteration to an old figure, and insufficient storage on the system itself. It's not nearly what the Gnarly Tree Rex bundle is.

Looks like at my Walmart here in San Antonio (281/410) they had brought them out on a cart with the XBox bundles (which were only $149, great price).

My wife and I picked up a pair of GITD Sonic Booms, and the folks at TRU said the Legendary Stealth Elf would likely be in stores tomorrow.

I ordered a Stealth Elf off the TRU site anyway just to be safe.

Certainly it's not the faults of the employees though. Both stores they tried to help me best they could but..Walmart really should have had more planning like Bazinga said. I feel though, it's probably just that Glow Boom got moved to the bottom of the totem pole in favor of other big ticket items (the one employee I talked to even mentioned that they were only given info on the big ticket things)

It's not only Walmart. Target had tons of XBox around 3 PM. I think the problem is most people have this console already and the new one is coming out. I hope this means we can expect a lower price for the bundle. I'll gladly buy the Xbox for $100. hehehe

I got mine today!

My target has 2 Wii Us as of 9 pm last night. Also my Walmart restocked on normal skylanders, better check it out.

My Wal mart had about 20 on B-F. Now only if I could land a GITD Fright Rider lol

I went to the one at Montrose (Copley, OH) and that was it. I'd imagine though that at least one of the other Walmarts I was planning on going to would have had them though.

Haha you mean S1 Zaps? I didn't see where they had the old SSA figures. Only old thing I saw these last few days was a $2.00 Hex (heavily damaged) by the giants stuff at the first Walmart I went to, and a bunch of Drill Sarge, Stealth Elf and L-Trigger Happy at TRU.

Well here's what happened at my Walmart (TN). A TRU employee told me that the distributor accidentally shipped all the "Walmart exclusive" GITD to TRU instead of Walmart. hence why I couldn't find any on Thurs/Fri. Even worse they cannot sell them nor return them so they are out of circulation, Atleast for my town. She said they "might" do a contest & just give them away....SMH

I went to 2 Wal-marts with my boys on Thursday night, GITD Sonic Booms no where to be found and employees had no clue. Walked in this morning, no trouble, picked one up right where they should have been. (With the Skylanders of course!)

There are tons extra here in Cedar Rapids, IA. We had stacks of the 360 bundle & plenty of GITD Sonic Boom. They must have only put out one box of the GITD SB on the night of Black Friday as I took the last one, but I went yesterday and there were too many to count hanging in the regular section in place of the Giants figures...as if they found cases afterwards.

My local wal-mart in Knoxville, IA actually put them up as of last night when I got back from Independence, from visiting my parents. Apparently, the store just never put them out.

British Columbia, Canada. The Wal-Mart near lougheed mall had tons of GITD Sonic Boom. If I had to guess, they probably had about 30. There were seriously a LOT of them. The only camera device I had on me at the time was my DSi, so please forgive the poor quality picture. These aren't all of them either. There were more on the other shelves. I didn't buy any though since I don't really care about variants. (Though the glow in the dark ones are easily the coolest ones)

We found the GITD Sonic Boom easily on Saturday. The Wal-Mart we went to have around 10 or so. Key is to check out the small town stores where not as many people visit or want them.

I'm in Bristol and I have a feeling that the TRU employee you talked to was pulling your leg. I didn't fight against the huge mob on Friday night at any of the local Wal-Marts (I shot in and out of the Bristol, VA location to snag a 3DS starter) but was able to find GITD Sonic Boom in the Bristol, VA, Bristol, TN and Johnson City, TN Wal-Marts Friday morning/afternoon after the crowds had died down. There weren't a large amount in any of the three Wal-Marts (6 in Bristol, VA and 3-4 in Bristol, TN & Johnson City, TN), but they were there.

As for TRU not being able to return them, I'm pretty sure that's 100% incorrect. I work in the sourcing department for the company I work for and if we ever receive something that we weren't billed for and was clearly not intended for us, none of our vendors ever give us a problem returning someone else's merchandise. This really sounds like someone at TRU trying to act like they know more about what's going on than they really do.

For the most part, the folks working in the JC TRU don't have any sort of inside information any earlier than a few days before something happens, if that, so I'd take any information like what they provided you above with a grain of salt.
