So...what exactly is going on at Walmart? Has your store had them, and where at (ie, state/area and where in the store)

First Walmart I went to said if they didn't have them out, they didn't have them and directed me to go and take a look at the pallet that had the 360 bundles on them. I checked all over and saw none of the bundles, let alone Glow Boom.

Second Walmart I went to, they told me that they saw one of the guys taking a pallet out down the center main aisle, and to look there. I saw a bunch of the standees with other movies and video games, but not a single one had any singles on them (or any Skylanders for that matter)

So...what exactly is going on? Do they not have them out? Employees/managers more worried about bigger ticket items?

I didn't see any when I was there this morning getting video games.. I am wondering if they put them out with the normal ones and already sold all of them.

I'm looking around on Walmart's facebook page, and it seems a lot of store were passing out vouchers for a lot of the items (mostly electronics stuff)..

They never said ANYWHERE that there'd be vouchers. According to the people, some stores were handing them out at 7Pm, and some at 4PM...wtf

I at wal-mart atm in line for the 360 and I havent seen them yet ( still 6:30 here ) but no one knows where they will be

My store had an entire endcap covered in Skylanders and what I guestimate was around 25 or more GitD Sonic Booms...they were allowing people to buy them before the Black Friday hours actually started. Which leads me to believe that maybe some people's stores aren't even realizing they have them, or put them out for actual sale too early. Considering the day and all the employees might be a bit more confused than usual. (Mine certainly were at least) Or did your store say they didn't get any shipments at all?

mmm...that's a possibility. I assumed that Walmart was actually opening at 8. They didn't really specify if they had them out early or anything, just that "if it's not on the shelves, then they don't have it".

Hopefully they'll get more in. From my understanding, the 360 pack was the only big "special" which is what the one employee I talked to told me. (I went looking for that cap and I couldn't find it so...)

My Walmart didn't even have the Xbox bundle either.

I was S.O.L. at my walmart. Not one and they even went into the back to look. Figured I could get lucky and find a stone zook or whirlwind but nope. Husband got lucky with L- stealth elf @ TRU. He said they only had 4.

My 2 Walmarts had 36 gitd sonics at one store and 96 at the other store.

Both Walmart had over 200 Xbox bundles one had no sonic booms and the other had about 10

My local Walmart had 5 of the Xbox bundles, to which I snatched one. They had ZERO GITD Sonic Booms. Someone in Canada asked me if I needed one. If they're willing to sell me one, cool, if not, I will wait for Walmart.com to put them up. If they don't put them up, I will check back stores over the next week or so, and if they don't get them in, oh well.

I got directed to 4 diff displays with none to find and they just told they were all sold out oh well, screw walmart, got my L-S. Elf

My walmart didn't have them either. Didn't even know what I was talking about :/ We'll see I did get L-Stealth elf though so it wasn't a complete waste

Dang guys, I should have picked up more for you.

Folks at my Walmart just wanted the game for the $40 starter (GREAT PRICE for a GITD figure and portal)
They had 48 of the GITD Sonic Booms, and not many folks were interested.

Its still way too crowded now, but I'll check in the morning.

Yeah I asked almost every employee I could find and they all looked at me like I was crazy and they had ZERO gitd sonic booms, oh well I guess I'll just have to keep checking xD

Took some asking around to track them down but finally found them. They were hiding in the deli and was at least 36 of them. Plenty were still available when I left. Probably a dozen of the Xbox bundles available too and hour after release.

My TRU had a 3 or 4 block line of people so i ordered L-stealth elf online in the parking lot and went to walmart lol. As most of you the people had no clue what i was talking about when i was looking for GITD sonic boom, roomate found them on a end cap in the food section....i hate walmart lol

My Wal-Mart had them, but only after an employee spilled them all over the place.

We got there around 8:45, these were the answers I got by asking the helpful employees:

1. They're by the pharmacy.
2. We don't have any toys, check the grocery side.
3. They'd be in the bakery.
4. We sold out as soon as the line opened.
5. Check the Skylanders displays in the front/electronics.
6. They're not on my list at all.
7. They're in a shopping cart in front of toys.

They ended up being in a shopping cart by the toys. There were a couple stray wave 2s in there but they had enough to fill 1/4th of the cart (plenty). Maybe because there was only one person who knew where they were is why they still had so many?
I was not interested in the 360 bundle so I didn't check for those.

Update: I got GITD Sonic Boom! They only had 20 and they were in a Box in electronics by the registers where they keep the ereaders and cell phones. My store had them as a ticket item along with the starter sets.

They had like 30 behind electronics counter. They put em all out on the counter. Plenty available.

I was first in line to get mine, so I grabbed extras. If you need one , PM me or something like that.

If anyone picked up any extras and would like to help me out please send me a PM went to a couple of Walmart and had no luck at all. Seems like all of the Walmarts out here got 0.

Yeah, i wouldnt mind a bit of help if anyone is willing. I would be needing 2.

We we're only allowed one at the wal-mart I was at, but I'll look at the other two wal-marts tomorrow morning.

If your Walmart was like mine, it was insane madness. Found the Xbox bundle after bobbing and weaving through the masses. Took me ~25 min. but finally found GITD Sonic Boom by the "Dairy" section. Of course... why didn't i think to look by the milk!???

It's the same with my kids, I basically just get the GITD variants for myself. I'm trying to keep the existence of Royal DT a secret from them though >.>

It is so crazy reading about WM's not having any... We had 36 in my store. Only 4 people in line for them. That's why I grabbed some up. Anyone else need one? I have one left who is very unloved...

There was a bunch at my walmart. No limit.

The Wal-Mart that I went to after I got off work, was wiped out. The police officer standing by the stuff said some guy had a cart and took all but five of them. This type of stuff makes me angry.

I got mine. Last one, 4 am with 50 inch. 2nd walmart.

Went to 2 Walmarts by me in NJ. Neither of them even had them out and no one knew anything about them.

7am here. Walmart had a TON of GiTD Sonic Boom left and several cases still unopened.
Not to mention pallets and pallets and pallets of the Xbox bundle

ALSO:: TRU had several pegs full with nothing BUT single Wham-Shells... Very interesting if you ask me!!!

They had them in the site to store area.

They dont have to specify in the AD about vouchers. Vouchers are given out at wal*marts (and probably all stores) to people who were in line first and plan to STAY in line.
If the line for 'Item A' gets too long or crowded then they will pass out vouchers to see if they have enough. Once they run out of vouchers they can tell the people in line that didnt get one to basically "bugger off we only have 88 ITEM A in stock and there are 120 people in line. You're s.o.l!"
They probably had to do the same at the stores you were seeing.

The GitD Sonic Boom was available starting Thanksgiving Day at 8pm. If some where passed out before 8pm then there is a good chance it was to the people who were in line for them. Regardless, the registers wont sell the Sonic Boom until the 8pm sale starts. All sale prices and items are time sensitive on the database. Down the last minute.


Speaking from 3yrs walmart experience.

My nearest Wal-Mart looked like they had just put them out at 8AM. I would guess about 36 of them - I only took 1.

My wife and I went shopping this morning, we went to 5 different wal-marts asked at all of them, again no one knew what we were talking about. I decided to check one last wal-mart in Des Moines, was able to pick up two. I open one and keep the other in the box. I'm still a little angry about the situation at my first wal-mart where someone bought all of them but five.

Wal-Mart needs to do better planning with these events. The place was a mad house. Also, putting stuff like that in the ad and not sending any to a bunch of stores is pretty lame in my book. Oh well, I was able to get him and a L-Stealth Elf. So good day for me in the end.

Welp, that page they had for gitd Sonic Boom has the figure image now. Upon pulling up the store locator, it's showing to be in stock at all the stores..hmmm...

Did you check the end cap?

Either A: The Wal-Mart employees made a mistake by not putting it out and they do have it in the back, or B: Wal-Mart as a company really nessed up hard core and didn't create/order enough stock for the release. I am going to have to go with B as all 6 of the stores that I stopped at didn't know what I was talking about, even after pointing it out in the ad.


Seems a little bit of lack of preperation.

Dont take that literally. The quantity stock displayed online is not a real-time quantity tracker for stores. It only updates once every 24 hrs. It may say in stock for all stores. But it may, in fact, be sold out.

@Bazinga: The stores order and receive quantities that they believe will sell. If the stores you visit dont have a high selling rate for Skylanders then it stands to reason that they wont need to order as much as other stores.
Skylanders sell like crazy where I live. So our stores ordered 10~15 cases of 12 singles.

We found them at the first and only Walmart we visited, and we actually showed up closer to midnight to bypass the lines. There weren't tons left, but they had enough of them. Apparently this means we got lucky, but she definitely was not difficult for Vhraina and I to track down.

I stopped at a few different wal-marts. Three of which were in Des Moines, Iowa. What us Iowans call a "Big City." They had not seen/heard of them. They also sell Skylanders like crazy. Only place I was able to pick up Wham Shell. Something just doesn't add up to me. Not trying to blame the employees at the store as we all know what Black Friday is like. They do the best they can and I applaud them for working in those conditions.

I just think that a little better planning could have been done.

Theres also the fact that::
For all we know Skylanders shipments could be "first order, first serve".
Much like it is when we go to a store to buy the skylanders, maybe some stores werent able to order as much as the others because they got through the ordering process first. Instead of a "all walmarts get X amount of product"

Same. Both of mine I went to were in larger...I guess upper class would be the correct term...neighborhoods. The second one where I got the 3DS starter at was actually the first store around the Cleveland area that I found LC Jet-Vac at!

Certainly it's not the faults of the employees though. Both stores they tried to help me best they could but..Walmart really should have had more planning like Bazinga said. I feel though, it's probably just that Glow Boom got moved to the bottom of the totem pole in favor of other big ticket items (the one employee I talked to even mentioned that they were only given info on the big ticket things)

Haha I'd be willing to bet that you're right Forlork. I'll still head out today and hope that some stores have them. I'd be really nice if walmart would put them up on their online store.
