"Special" doesn't count because they look like the regular characters in the game. In game variants (e.g. Gnarly Tree Rex) are what Trexroarr was talking about, and you need them for a 100% collection.

GITD count as additional Skylanders to your total number of Skylanders. At least for Fright Rider and Cynder. Both add to your Skylander Total. They have the word "Special" over their name when playing with them and in your Skylanders collection.

But, they look like the normal character, not the figure. Sure, it helps add to the collection. But, all you need are the in game variants. Polar Whirlwind, Molten Hot Dog, Scarlet Ninjini, and Jade Flashwing are in game variants.

Both my GITD Cynder and AE Flameslinger register as "Series 2 Special" on PS3.

It may look the same in game, but if it counts as a totally seperate figure in game, then I guess you can consider it a somewhat in game variant. Its like in between a real in game variant and just a different colored figure in real life.

Considering Aus is always behind on things like this, it leave questions for me about how to go about it.

I saw Battlegrounds in on the App Store here, does anyone know if I were to purchase it now and buy the ios pack when it finally gets here, will the purchase price be refunded to my credit when redeeming the copy included with the pack? Is anyone able to test this out and report back please?

I'll get in contact with the buying team at work tomorrow to see if I can get an idea of a release date for Aus.

has GM tried multiple Rock Whirlwinds to check that he just didnt get an unlucky one that dosnt register?

Multiple people across multiple sites have all said Rock Whirlwind doesn't register as Special ingame, like Rock Zook does.

I ordered one of these packs through Gamestop's website and it should be here in 4 more business days... i'm hoping that it's the Royal Double Trouble version!!!

You won't get a refund or credit if you buy the game, then the starter separately. According to their official FAQ.

Is this game really worth $50!!?

I think Battlegrounds is the best of the three iOS games, easily.

There are 4 chapters, and 10 levels in each chapter.

$50 is still way too expensive.

Well, looking at it objectively....
RDT is worth at least $10
Jet-Vac and Cynder when sold as singles will also go for $10 apiece.
The chest is debatable, let's do low end $5
The portal can fetch $15 on eBay.

Yeah that actually works out not even counting the game to about $50 as is.

It's an even poorer value if you already have Jet Vac or Cynder from any of the other starter kits. At least they kept Tree Rex out of this one :/

^ This. The issue is duplicate figures. They could have easily tossed in other figures, or even just RDT. Besides, the game you'll be using them in really isn't that special(I played it last night, I thought it was meh, maybe that will change with the Portal but it's still just an iOS game I'll never play with a couple figures I'll use not even once).

I agree!...they should have just sold it with one exclusive figure and left the duplicates out. Then they could have reduced the overall price of the game by $20! $29.99 would have been much more appealing to the masses.

I love it. Haven't put it down ALL day. It's a lot of fun. Not everyone will see it worth while to get the pack but its definetly worth the $7

I'm glad it had them. I got the portal owners pack and this so no duplicates. Also not having the 2 wouldn't have brought the price down 20 bucks considering the portal owners is only 25 less and doesn't have 2 figs or a portal. Might've brought it down 10. Either way its not something new that they're doing so there's no point in complaining.

Maybe but I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't mind the deal. We just don't hear from them cause they are content. There's always 2 sides. If you bought portal owners for giants cause you already had a portal then it's good they come with jv and cynder. If not then you have duplicates. If they were all different people would complain they "had" to buy the mobile pack. If it was just one figure people with no console or 3ds would feel jipped. There no perfect solution.

But there is. Add three totally different figures. Why? Cynder and regular Jet-Vac are confirmed to be coming out in widespread Singles in the future so people who miss the Starters for console versions can buy them while people who bought the Starters for console versions don't end up with so many duplicates. It was that way with buying the 3DS version in the first game(with the exception of Dark Spyro, who was only a recolor outside of 3DS anyway).

Yeah, Siva. He's considered one of the ingame variants. He appears in all Skylanders games as RDT... well, except the first game that is.

Just wondering if RDT edition has been confirmed outside the US, have family coming over to the Uk for Xmas and might have to ask them to bring one over for me. On a side note, does anyone know if the iTunes redeem card is international or would it be region locked like the iTunes prepay cards, as its not a monetary type card I'm taking a guess it won't be, but not sure on apple's t&c's on this kind of thing.

As far as I know the RDT is US only and exclusive to Gamestop here in the states. As far as the code goes, I do not know. I know that the game is up in the App Store. So, worst case scenario would be have to buy the app for how much ever it costs. Could maybe try and resell the code you get with the box if it does not work.

I find it odd that the GITD count as in game figures, kind of a silly way to have the count go up to 120 long run.

Maybe he's in his series 1 pose because the mini-DT on the series 2 DT would look weird next to royal DT.
