I picked up my starter pack for Skylanders Battlegrounds today at Best Buy! it's kind of similar to the console games but with a new kind of touch control, and best of all, you can swap characters on the fly! I wish I could do that with the 3DS and DS games.

I wanna see royal double trouble, the game comes with specific download link so u cant get it otherwise

I saw this today at TRU. I believe it was $49. Honestly, I was taken aback that the figures were all S1.

Double Trouble is one of my favorites, but I didn't notice any difference in his paint scheme. I'm sure his colors were different, but it wasn't anything very noticeable (unlike Red/Blue Pop Fizz or Gnarly Tree Rex).

It's really a shame they chose to put S1 Skylanders in this pack. They had a fantastic opportunity to come out with something really special for iOS (a metal or pewter Skylanders would have been cool, or all white/pearl). Regardless, they never should have packed them with S1 figures.

IMO, the portal with 3 S1 figures and the repainted treasure chest for $50 is an epic waste of money. It's too bad because I don't need much of an excuse to buy more Skylanders stuff.

So, what is the game play like? Do you have to have the portal, etc.? Is the game very deep?

They are S2 figures. The double trouble is in a series 1 pose however, it is series 2. Also, the Gamestop version has the Royal Double Trouble.

I bought it at Gamestop tonight, Royal Double Trouble is a Series 1 Pose on an orange base. The figure appears as Royal Double Trouble in the game and is Series 2 with wow pow and able to switch paths. It also came with Jet Vac and Series 2 Cynder, so I'm not sure what Dark Gyro was talking about. And for those of you that cry - "pics or it didn't happen" - I'll take some tomorrow.

So it seems Skylanders BattleGrounds is out on iTunes and just like Skylanders Lost Islands before it, neglects to mention it wouldn't work on older iThings in the iTunes store. **I'll get the popcorn ready
