Sorry, I had to let this out, since it has been ignored before.

I had noticed a rise of new/old users berating me a lot lately, apparently either trolling me for no reason or have heard bad claims about me from another user here. Even the Forum Rules says not to troll others, yet there hasn't been any action done to the trolling.

I have been trolled and flamed excessively for no reason for too long, and dark52 hasn't done anything about the trolling by the users who constantly harass me everyday on here. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm questioning how dark52 runs the site as an admin if he allows the trolls to continue to berate others, such as myself, everyday on what they do that they find annoying.

Simply ignoring them while they continue to troll on me, all the while, spreading false claims about me to new users who join doesn't seem to be working at all.

All this hate I'm getting everyday from these trolls is just sad, cruel, and sickening that nothing has been done about it.

It is very sad that the site is hardly properly moderated anymore, Dark only listens to the Skylanders fans and visits that section the most and often neglects the other sections.
I can't believe he still believes that he can run a site like this by himself without caring for the other sections of the site, thanks to this neglect, there are way too many trolls appearing in these other sections thinking they can get away without being banned for a long period of time, which in he occasional case of the average porn troll, can lead to scaring children, getting them in trouble with family members around them and making them leave the site. All because it takes so long for Dark to ban such members.

It is also unacceptable how he neglects the users who just want to have a great time on the site, but are unable to thanks to trolls. In Stuff and Nonsense it is actually a big problem with how older users treat younger users like they're the scum of the earth, when the new users are confused about all the unreasonable hate they're getting. Then there is the new users that try to fit in by trolling and spreading rumors, it really is starting to become a big problem and this really shouldn't be happening.

If Dark is going to be a lone admin on a site this big and still growing, then he better start improving his act.

You know, dispite the occasional joke, I couldn't agree more with what both Aura and Arceus have said in this post. The forum is kind of getting a bit too large for it's own good. Rather than it being just a Spyro forum, a franchise that wasn't really large from 2005-2011, it's now a Skylanders forum, which means it gets more and more members all the time.

The fourm does kind of need some form of extra moderation. If not full mods, maybe mods for specific sections of the forum?

That's what I think that should be done.
Not many people go around the whole Forum. Many have their own section.
Trying to find a user that goes to all and has qualities of a Mod is quite difficult.

As Bionicle said, I think there should be Mods on specific parts of the forum.

Obviously dark moderates the Skylanders section the most out of the others. He recently posted some comments there and rarely posts on the other sections, besides updating news and Skylanders: Giants material for his game pages.

Wowee, leave the other sections unattended while the Skylanders forums get all the attention and the fans getting their requests fulfilled.

It's sickening of him to let trolls continue to berate me all these months. I have sent him a message before about the trolls harassing me a few months ago, all he said was 'Ignore them.' but he simply does nothing about the trolling that has gotten out of control since then. He's literally allowing them to take over and get away with breaking the Forum Rules that HE himself made for the Forums. What kind of admin does that?

He probably doesn't want to deal with all of this. I mean, have you ever tried reasoning with some kids? I bet you have.
He can't simply ban them since that'll cut out too many members from DarkSpyro.
Moderated messages won't do crap. They may get only very few users to back off.

He should create a topic saying that they should stop annoying/bullying/trolling you and other users. This may or may not help. If they are aware of what Dark is capable off and not of what he's willing to do, then they should stop....some of them I mean.

Another option would be making you, Aura, a mod for the Skylander section. You can suspend anybody you wish to. Though this may get users to get annoyed and just leave completely.


This is just what I think that is happening and what I think should be done.

I really don't care for adminship at this point.

I just want the trolling dealt with. Because I have endured all the flaming from some users for months now, while dark52 sits back in his high chair and does nothing, no deleting of comments, no suspensions, nothing. He just allows the trolling to happen, completely disregarding one of his own rules.

In my opinion, dark52 needs to make more use of the Gnorc rank. I have not seen a non-requested Gnorc for a long time. If he did that and started suspending noobs I think it would make the site return to normal fairly quickly.

You know, part of me was going to pass this off as simple complaining.

Then I remembered that this isn't simple trolling, and has become outright harassment from a select few people antagonizing someone and getting everyone in that section to hate her for no real reason, especially when all she's doing is trying to care for the site when someone clearly won't. It's kinda sickening as to how far this has come.

And this is not on Aura. This isn't really even on the people harassing her. It's on you, Dark. You're the admin of the site, and as such, it's your job to make sure things like this don't happen. You often love to throw around the "No flaming/trolling" rule and use it as an excuse to give people mod messages when they did nothing. But the moment someone is doing this, and to a large extent, you sit around drooling. Meanwhile, the moment a Skylanders kid lets out even a tiny whine, you come to the rescue and delete every single post even when nothing was done wrong. And then you (apparently) tell Aura to calm down?

"But I have a life. I can't watch the site all the time." Get mods.
"The forums are too big and I get too many reports to see them all immediately." Get mods.
"But I don't know who to choose for mods." Make an application system..............then get mods.

If you proved that you can do your job on your own, I wouldn't be going on about mods. But you've proven time and time again that you can't do things on your own anymore, and it's long overdue that you get some sort of help. But nooooooooooooo, you continue to live in your little bubble, deluding yourself into thinking that you can manage this site without any sort of assistance.

You talk about how you can handle the site yourself, and you try to prove that you take care of this site and its members. Well you're doing a piss poor job at it, and it clearly shows to everyone except the new members that leave a comment calling you the best admin ever only an hour after they join. You outright tell people to stop backseat modding and instead report posts so that way it doesn't look like you do nothing. But I bet you that people have been reporting these posts while you sit around and do nothing. Of course people are going to backseat mod. They're trying to take care of the site, something you don't seem to want to do. You were quick to ban one person (Observer) when he was harassing Christians. Why don't you do anything when several people are harassing one person (Aura) on a daily basis?

Words cannot describe how incompetent you are right now. You don't deserve the respect of any member on this site when you talk about how you can handle things on your own, and then turn a blind eye when someone gets harassed by several people every single day. Not just that, but now that she brings it up to you here, you have yet to respond, even though (according to the site), you were online hours after this was posted, and even apparently had the time to post somewhere else. And before you bring up "I can't check every section" (even though you won't even bother responding), you should at least have the decency to check Site Help and Suggestions, as it's probably the most important section on the forums. You failed your job as an admin.

Dark already knows about this topic, especially after the amount of times he's been online today, he knows the existence of this very topic, but hasn't bothered to comment on this issue yet.

Either he's too stuck-up and proud to even post a response, 'busy' with his real life problems, or he's being a silent, behind-the-scenes recluse again that thinks he doesn't have to say a single thing about obvious problems.

At this rate I honestly think that dark should make some current users Hunters, the site is in a dire need and can't wait for him to find other people. I strongly opposed this as it would break any neutrality on here that survived, and also cause a lot of those children to whine even more, but this place is just too big now.

It's time. *Cue dramatic music, epic narrator voice, and movie trailer effects*. We need more hunters. Coming soon... and by that we mean a very long time.

Even I agree. I strongly suggest dark52 bring in at least 3-4 Hunters to control dark spyro. This is getting over the top now. and i think its time dark did something or else next year this place will be called dark troll. Hunters need to come or else... the troll situation gets outta hand. Time to show dark what needs to be done and why. If he can"manage the site by himself," why cant he help with issues people are having. Spread the word out and convince dark to take control properly, bring in hunters and make sure dark spyro is good and healthy. Tell ppl on the forums to check this thread out and eventually the turnout will be so big dark will have to do what i mentioned above. We will get dark to control dark spyro and noone can stop us!

See, if there are moddies, would they be new or old? Selecting an emerald would be problematic, because they have their opinions on users. (AKA Aura wumbo)But at the same time, electing a neutral mod would be like electing a red sparx. Maybe we could elect a sort of congress, and have dark as the prez that vetos things. So, teh elected congress would come up with a notion to ban or gnorc someone, agree on it, then dark would make the final decision. Sheesh, that's hard to write on this tablet.

I hope you realize that there have been porn trolls, and other cases of harassment like this. Things haven't always been fine. Maybe it was for the first few years, but now the site is far too big.

And she doesn't have an attitude problem. She just cares for the site and wants to lead new members into the right direction. But some people took this as her attacking the new members, and then they convinced every new member into doing such, before they even see her.

Yes, people do need to change. Mods can help with this change.

Yes, we've all made mistakes. Owning up to them is a way of fixing them. Saying "we've all made mistakes" doesn't pardon mistakes that are made.

Plus, it is hard to run a forum. Mods are going to make it easier on him, and run things when he can't.

Yes, running a forum is difficult. But it can be EASILY handled if mods would be hired. and hiring the mods would be an EASY task. Yet, Dark hasn't done it or even mentioned it until now, so these people have the right to bring it up.

No.

First of all, Aura and kappa got into a little fight because kappa was being immature. Shortly after, kappa started spreading things about Aura to new users. These new users decided it would be best to troll, flame, and harass her. She is not at fault for the people who are bothering her. She just wanted to help because Dark needs help. What's with you guys and how you take her kindness and twist it around so badly?

If anything, kappa and his little pets need to change their attitudes, and get a little taste of an MM, or even a suspension.

Second, if the forum is so demanding, how would mods make it worse? Obviously, Dark would try to make the best choice, and it might nip at his mind constantly that he could have possibly hired the wrong person. However, getting mods would take the load off by A LOT. He could spend his time on his busy life while to mods watch over us.

Also, I find it hilarious for you to post this. There have been plenty of times where Dark was sleeping while porn trolls posted NSFW content on the forums. I can't blame Dark for being asleep. I can blame him for not having mods.

Hiring mods will prevent that. So I don't have to blame him anymore.

Funny, trolls in the past claimed that they were sorry for harassing me, yet they still did it.

And something had to be said about dark52 not moderating the forums enough and allowing this trolling to happen. I wasn't going to sit by and allow myself to be harassed any further, waiting for dark52 to take ages to take action on the matter. We suggested to him before, and even posted problems regarding the absence of moderators while he is away.
