Bought my son the giants starter pack for Christmas for ps3 but I may be getting him a wii u. Should I return the ps3 version for a wii u version?

I dunno... Ps3 is like an xbox, and those are better than anything nintendo will make, so... I dunno. Pick what you want

Certainly return the PS3 version. The WiiU has advanced graphics, a new touchscreen controller, NFC(Near field communication), you can use old wii items with it and its more fun on nintendo systems! Plus, the wii version is number one in sales right now(beating just dance 4:-) ) which means that people enjoy the wii version more. Plus, SSA was designed with nintendo wii in mind so the wii got much better results than the ps3 version. Hope you take my opinion into hand.

The wiiu isnt tested, so i might read a couple reviews and decide. The xbox graphics are better, though.

The Wii U version also has bonuses with the GamePad. You can play it on the TV screen and have the character and objective menus on the bottom, or you can play it right on the GamePad! You can also control certain option screens with it. The Wii U version is also apparently going to be from-scratch 1080p unlike the slightly optimized ports the PS3 and 360 versions are(but I can't provide sources on this, it's just what I'm gathering from discussion here?). Short answer, if you are getting a Wii U then yes. It is not worth buying a system but it IS going to be the definitive edition of the game, without a doubt.

They arent everything, but theyre a part of it. I like good graphics in my vid games, unless the story is awesome.

This means the Wii U version would end up with even better graphics than 360/PS3.
When it comes to Skylanders just buy the console edition based upon your personal preference of graphics times system. I play the Wii version because I'm a classic Nintendork, but the others have better graphics, so yeah...

With gill grunt, its easier to play on ps360 with him, because there are multiple buttons for his secondary and special attack. Its hard to hold down 3 buttons on the wii. On xbox its easy.

What do you mean? On Wii you hold Z to use the Jetpack and B to fire the hose. A is for Harpoons and exploding sea creatures.

I like to hold all 3 buttons at once, and gets hard to do on the wii. Also, the controls are a factor on what platform to buy.

Yesss, someone that supports ps3. I have wii and xbox and chose xbox solely for the graphics.

Actually, I believe it's been stated that the Wii U is going to have a trophy/achievement system multiple times. Or at least strongly hinted at.

O dint care about achievments. I like the story/time trial/ freeplay better

Got the Wii U delivered today from a Wal-Mart preorder. It is pretty cool, skylanders on it would probably be awesome but not that much different from any other system that it is out for; PS3, 360, or Wii

Wii U is a big waste. And all this dumb crap like ****BOX720 and PSWTF is just so we have to buy a whole new console just to play our favorite game.

if you already have a ps3 (this gen best gaming console with free online game play and more) why waste all the money on a wii-u that are less powerful than the ps3/x360???.. don't make sense at all... spend the money on skylanders giants figures instead...

Either way, if the rumors about the Wii U having for scratch graphics specifically optimized for it are true, then it will almost certainly end up looking better, at least for this game.

My dad is picking up the Wii U tomorrow because it is a Sunday today. But too bad that I can't buy the Starter Pack until it's Black Friday, all because of a single Sprocket. My dad is not even sure if we'll go anywhere on Friday!

Dear goddess... I've been waiting for the Wii U avidly since it was announced, watching every bit of detail I could. Of course I knew the spec facts. I was simply posting that knowing how YOU would respond from the start!

Wii U is absolutely NOT going to fail. It has the same kind of buzz the first one did, and parents/kids are buying and wanting the system en masse. Xbox and PS3 will obviously have the superior next-gen systems from a purely technical perspective. Obviously. But Nintendo Magic (tm) is still what kids want from games, just like it was when we were little, and that ensures a successful Wii U console for the foreseeable future.

Tashiji is right. I finally got the Wii U version, and the best part is playing the game on the GamePad while the rest of your family members watch a movie.
