The flashwing was put back on the shevles and traded and flash and stealth were the same price and I got an okay with the manager and the cashier, the casheir even watched me do the switch and I waved buy to her. But if that classifies as theif more power to me, they were always my favorite classes to pick anyway.

No just one, i picked up flashwing and the rest on their release date. And if the manager had told me no I have to wait I would have. But she didnt and the transaction had completed on my debit so I did the the trade out as planned.

and the manager agreed to sale me one as long as it was a swap so permission granted so the store will get in trouble for selling early, the manager even told me they used to overide the sales date all the time. It seems to be a common practive for this store to break date early.

Not saying what i did was right or wrong but at least now there is a confirmed release date from the TRU computer system

This is getting rather pointless, buuuuuuuuttttttttt it seems to me they agreed to sell you the flashwing. You went over and swapped, in my book and other peoples book that is not cool. I've already done rants on how sick I am of Americans being impatient and breaking the dates constantly, and from now on I just have to say... If they want to ruin their own jobs in their land... So be it... So many of them do it now I honestly can't care any more. It enrages me that they are doing that and risking the jobs of employees that aren't themselves, but they can deal with it now, it's stupid, but they keep doing it, blah blah blah. If TRU and Walmart's lines for Skylanders end up suffering because of you constantly working to grab things before you're meant to, so be it, you can suffer the consequences. I'm not going to rant about it again.

I feel the same way about when UKers were breaking dates too, FYI.

They agreed to sell me stealth just had to walk over to grab random giants character, could have been any of the singles, i just like flashwing. Paid the exact same amount of money I would have next week I just got a bright moment of happiness out of it today and no line waiting and baby punching scalpers later.

I can not agree more. Is it fun to get stuff early? You betcha! However, it does nothing but cost money, as companies get fined a crap ton of money. Then people lose jobs because of having to pay that fine. Now, some of the responsibility does fall on the TRU that was/is selling these.

Here is the appropriate thing to do in these situations. As I did with Giants when it got put out on the Tuesday before it was supposed to be released. Hey MR. Walmart worker, you know these are not supposed to be on sale until Sunday? Walmart worker to me: Oh, Okay I will get those taken down.

Easy simple as that.

Now, in your defense you may not have known that the street date when you first picked up LSE was not until the 22nd however, when you went and "Switched" them, you lost any hope in defending yourself.

P.S. I live in the USA, also.

Does the same count when dragons peak came out a few days early all those months ago and the employes had to take it out of the customers hands and the flipside the people who got to buy it early?


More as is it different when its a single person vs a mass group. And when the crowd holds sway. Cause not much anger was passed with dragons peak, people were more angry at TRU. in this occasion with a singular, what makes that difference

I would feel the same way. This happened at my "local" TRU. They put them out early and had to take them out of peoples hands. What seems lost these days, is that people make mistakes. As an adult, we should understand that this stuff happens. We shouldn't look at either situation to try and find a way to scam/cheat the system.

I would have been pissed that your situation happened to me. They had them out, you found them. However when the computer said not available until 11/22, I would have been somewhat happy to know that I have the release date now. So instead of in my case having to drive 50 miles to the local TRU on Sunday just to find that it isn't out. I can wait until Wednesday when I get off of work and pick her up.

I don't think trying to explain anymore will help, but here it goes.

What you did in most peoples eyes is wrong. They took the LSE from you and one person did say yes, that you could do the swap thing. However, more people came over and said no. You then went over and grabbed one anyways and walked out with it.

Now, I'm done for a few.

You know I was the first person to find suspicion with his story, but he clarified. The manager, it doesn't matter how many employees say no, the manager has the final say, and the manager approved according to him. If that is so then case closed.

Also, Nibelilt, you said the hot pockets case was different because he would have paid for all the packs. In this case, he paid for the pack, a skylander single.

So, if he paid for a single skylander, and the manager gave him the go ahead to swap it out, then it is not shoplifting. Manager has final say and whatever happened is on the manager.

Only question as many department/big box stores have different "managers" was it the manager of say baby clothes (just using this as an example as the TRU I have sells those.) said it was okay to sell? They may not have known what a big deal this may have become. If say then the manager of video games came over and said that it was a no go. Then I think they would have final say over what should have been done in that situation.

Here let me lighten up this convo a bit.

I used to work for Quiktrip. A gas station for those who don't know what it is. This guy walked in, we called him Scarface because of the big scar he got while he was in prison. The location I worked at had a cop on the weekends due to the fact it was in a bad location. He decided he would steal himself some beer while he was at the store. So the cop stopped him and found the beer in his pocket. While handcuffed he decided he wanted to run, so the cop checked him into my beer doors and broke one of them. Where he was going to go in handcuffs I do not know.

While sitting on the floor after getting the glass out of his hair, he tells the cop that he has to go to the bathroom. Well, next thing we know we have ourselves a puddle on the floor. Yep, not only did he try and run and break my beer glass, he also pissed himself! Atleast, I was the manager on duty and didn't have to clean that up.

Wow. Thats horrible. My mom teaches me school, so im not exposed to that kind of stuff.

Yeah, I don't work there anymore. I work at a auto insurance company, so instead of getting yelled at in person. I now get yelled at on the phone.


Why did my rate go up? Let's See....... The speeding tickets and one accident do help. Or in another case.... the DUI that you got too close for us to non renew you might make a difference.

I have never shoplifted, except for that one time in Disney world when I ate like 20 sour patch kids watermelons, I was little and I had no idea you had to pay for them and a few weeks later I took a sticker out of a Pokemon book! I was so dastardly when I was 7!

In the end after the legendary Stealth Elf was taken away the correct thing to do would have been to either A: Ask for money back, or B: chose one that is supposed to be out and take that one. Of the same price of course. Either way, if this is found out the store could be in Big Trouble Mister.

If you steal one candybarskylandersodachiphotdogorwhatever... it is the same as stealing 1684413216548. This logic that only stealing one thing is not that big of a deal fails. Let's take it away from stealing, lets say.... (not to get grusome) Murder. I only killed one person, it's okay it's not like I killed 646346843121548 people. Logic Fails. I used to see this all the time back in my working retail days. It's only one soda or one beer or one w/e. Either way you tried to steal it.

Legendary Stealth Elf... Such a polarizing skylander. Either you love her or you hate her. She happens to be one of my favorites. Not sure why, she just is. Also, Terrafin and Double Trouble seem to get a large amount of hate posts on here sometimes. They are also my favorite.

Anyways, I think most of us agree that WB, GITD WB, Wrecking Ball, still sucks and should have not gotten a repose.

Reading and comprehension seem to be a problem on this forum. Which, I suppose, is due to all the young ones perhaps? Read again:

The story she told first doesn't line up with what she's saying now that people are accusing her of theft. Not taking sides here or anything but that to me sounds like a bad thing to do.

That's a completely different case because you pay for all the packs. You paid for one Flashwing and not for anything else, the Legendary Stealth Elf was not paid for and YOU JUST STOLE IT. If you were a cashier at a store and someone bought a bulk order of cat food or something, and they were all different flavors but the same price, would you scan each individually or just keep scanning one? I thought so. Keep trying to sneak out of this but the fact is you shoplifted.

Shoplifting...so..so..so SAD. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated. Dark52 should remove or delete this topic and ban the user. Topics like these may encourage others to do the same. The mentality that
"someone did it so I can do it too" is somewhat a common juvenile behavior that is easily used as an excuse to do bad things.

Actually the law is if its out, unless something is posted you can buy it. If they don't let you, you call the store manager or coporate. they would much rather have your business than to not have you business over a 10 dollar figure.

This. Though, they actually CAN forbid sale but it's rare they're so uppity about that.

Also, this thread should be locked anyways. Not because he was a "thief" (Though the op basically says he just did a switcheroo, not took both) but because it's just another bragging thread.

I get this. However, I think the big issue that myself and others have is that she was told no and they had took the figure away. She then went over and grabbed one and walked-out with it. That right there is dishonest.

Before you talk about laws then you should understand that selling items ahead of the release date will cost a store a lot of money. The TRU rep that I talked too before regarding the Dragon's peak issue said that for their store it will cost them a $7,000 fine if they violate the street dates. The inconvenience to the customer is not worth the $7,000 fine and the system which prevents the sale is in their to make sure that this does not happen.

The level of comprehension here on these forums is ridiculous.
