It is pretty fun hunting down the toys. Especially variants and new waves and such. Only down side is the cost lol.

It's definitely easier this time around, though we'll see how things go once we get into the thick of the holidays.

there is no denying the hunt is fun. but more often than not it is frustrating. when you find the skylander you were looking for then its a relief and you're like "that was great. I went all over town and finally found the skylander i was looking for."

however, if you spent all day running around town and never found the one you were looking for then more often than not you are p!ssed.

i looked for wham-shell every time i went to any store that sold skylanders. i have never seen him. i got tired of looking and just didn't care. the only way i got wham-shell was through the carrying case that toys r us sells.

its fun hunting when you find the ones you want. but more often than not i find myself getting in line with a bunch of idiots that want to push and shove and grab multiples. that doesn't make it fun at all.

I've thought this way for a while. Yes the hunt is almost as fun as the game itself, if not more-so. (If anything just slightly). I missed hunting down the figures once I had gotten them all.

Good to know I'm not alone in feeling this way lol.

It's frustrating to never see the Skylanders I want to play as available when I'm interested in the games they were made for. I didn't get a Camo or Zap when I was playing S:SA and I could be "done" with SG before I ever see a Thumpback or series 2 Spyro.

What's fun for me is playing the game, deciding it's time for a new Skylander, going to a store and buying the one I want, and playing the game with it.

There is a certain rush of finally seing what I want available, but that exciting rush is just a counterbalance to the days or weeks of being disappointed.

I have conflicting emotions for the hunt. My hate for it is only due to the frustration of not finding a particular figure (example: from SSA, Wham Shell) after checking multiple stores multiple times over an extended period of time. However, at the same time, I really enjoy hunting for figures and especially enjoy the instant gratification of finding that one figure that I have wanted for so long.

Overall, I somewhat feel that if I was able to get all the figures right away, it would not be as much fun. This is partly because the figures unlock more content in the game, making the game longer, and therefore more fun.

So, yes, (I think, not quite sure) I do enjoy the hunt.

Well, I can order everything at EB Games sans any very special figures I would need to look hard for anyway. So the whole "hunt" part of the game is moot to me now. In Spyro's Adventure, I would say definetly, the hunt was much more interesting than the actual play, but Giants is much better as a game, and has much more to do, which makes waiting for figures much more bearable to the point I would actually find it annoying to not have the guarantee now.

I think my quote from before sums up my feelings pretty well:

To a degree, I love it and hate it. That quote about things being both a blessing and a curse.

I collect a lot of different things, but for instance PEZ dispensers. I used to really hardcore follow the release dates and stuff, but now it's like an adventure when I find them. (By the way, Darth Maul is out now in the relaunched Star Wars set. *Cough*)

For Skylanders though, it's not so much that I don't want to go around and look for them; its the fact that I don't KNOW where I'd go and look for them. With some things, I can just go to a store and be confident that there's whatever I'm collecting there, anywhere during the month of release.

With Skylanders not having a lot of things in stock, it's like a feeling of dread. "Am I gonna find anything today or have I just spent 5 hours of my time and gallons of gas for a wild goose chase".
