I am buying all S2 because the S1 don't have the extra Wow Pow or Pow Wow powers. I forget what they are called, I have been up all night. Also, I want to collect them all.

I sort of hope they have to clearance them. Because I would like to have them. They have wow pows, and more importantly, they unlock heroic challenges that the new landers can complete.

Wait until it gets a bit closer to the holidays, they will thin out I bet. Also, I think Activision maybe learned a bit from the success of S:SA. In General making most figures more available this time around.

Ummmm ... By definition, none of the S1 that aren't getting a repose will be S2. I agree that there will be toms of parents that refuse to buy reposes, though, leading to much fuller shelves this time around.

ghost roaster and sunburn will be easy because they have relvant starter packs that will be reproduced, but all of the other characters no getting reposes will be more rarer over time.
It would be interesting to see if those characters ever get released or reposed for a series 3. |

S2 are actually pretty popular, judging by store shelves and eBay prices. You might not want to buy reposes of S1 characters, but I think it's safe to say at this point that you represent the minority here. Giants toys in general are hot right now.

The S2s will just be slower to sell. Parents prioritize the new figures but will eventually piece together the remakes for the heroic challenges and such.

Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you. |

I've seen parents gobble up the series 2s but I've also seen them inspect them and say "Soooooo what's the difference from their Series 1?" Lol.
Should make alternate color ways as well as poses for series 3.

So far, I only own the S2 which come in triple-packs. I plan on getting Spyro, whenever he hits. I haven't used any yet. I'm waiting to get one of each element and then play through the game solo with just those eight.

I misread that. You have Warnado. Voodoo, Ghoast Roaster and Wham Shell that you do not have are not being made into S2. Either is Sunburn. Their are two more I think from your list and mine that are not being made into S2. However, I can not think of those ones right now. |

I'm content enough to wait. The Series 2 figures are indeed just hanging out here at our Wal-Mart, and generally the only ones kids are going for are the brand-new characters. I doubt it'll go on clearance in the stores but online may be another matter when S3 hits.

Seeing as the S1 figures are still full price in most places. 8.96 or 9.99 depending on where you go, and the fact that not all people have them. With the new players that will pick giants and then in turn see the old characters I don't think they will go on clearance anytime soon either.

Here are some things to consider:
-In the individual figure case packs, new characters are packed 2 to every individual S2 figure. This shows there is an expectation for newer characters to sell faster than S2 and helps them be rarer on shelves. -So far the S2 released have proven to be some of the more standout characters in Giants. They also unlock HC's have WowPow and switch paths without resetting or repurchasing material in game. They also look better than S1 figures and seem to be of higher quality. -These features are desireable to the actual people playing the game not scalpers, parents or collectors. The primary demographic for the game typically has the most disposable income right after Christmas. This is why figures were imppssible to find at this time last year (well one reason). -TRU will continue releasing all adventure packs as an exclusive, this will keep Sunburn and Ghost Roaster on shelves. -The other unreposed six are already harder to find than most figures -When stores were able to keep figures instock there has always been a surplus of certain character in S:SA over others. It is unlikely that Giants would not have a similar trend. However there is no reason to believe that shelfwarmer status will be designated to ony S2's or equally amongst them it will simply just be least desired characters many of which may be S2's Just some things to consider in this discussion |
