Hot Head Paint Job is Bad [CLOSED]

I just found a few Hot Heads at the local Wal-Mart and all of them had a brutal paint job. Usually you find a couple figures here or there that have the odd splash of paint in the wrong spot but these all looked bad. I especially hate it when there is a glaring flaw somewhere on the character's face. You pay good money for these things so Activision's quality control should be a little better. I ended up walking out with nothing.

If you're not a collector, what's the big deal? It doesn't affect game play at all.

And without specifics, it's tough to know what you consider a "glaring flaw."

Well, Acti said they tried to make the characters look more like they did in-game

How about paint splotches across an eye? Or oversprayed paint that is cracking and flaking off. Is that glaring enough?

When you buy a brand new car do you overlook any scratches or dents because it doesn't affect the drive? Some people just have more pride in their possessions.

I'm in Canada but I'm sure the quality control is the same all over. Does anybody know if all these toys come out of the same plant?

I think they mean making their colors look more like their ingame models. Fixing Sprocket's band coloring in time for Wave Two, to give most obvious example.

i honestly see a major step down in the quality of paint jobs this game. it seems there sacrificing quality for quantity and i rather much see it the other way around

I found 10 Hot Heads at a Walmart in the middle of nowhere. All of them except 2 had pretty terrible paint jobs. I like the way the characters look when they are done well, and would not purchase a poorly painted one. As another already said, I wouldn't buy a new car with scratches in the paint. This is a much smaller scale, but I still feel I deserve a quality product for my dollars.

the paint job for hot head may be bad but it was a real wasn't as fun to see only the flames of his head light up. It would have been cool to see that for sure.

No complaints from Indy about paint jobs... mine have been perfectly fine, Hot Head looks great too!! The only one that I received that had funky paint was the pre-order DragonFire Cannon I got from TRU online and was shipped like a month before the game was released... the Shroom Boom had a funky eye and was more brown than yellow... super glad I got a second Shroomy from my GS Golden Cannon exclusive!! smilie

I have a Hot Head..

There is a yellow paint spray that normally surrounds the LightCore flame, but instead, the paint is right above the eyes..

Hot Head doesn't release here until 29/11 so I'm hoping by then they are producing better ones to send here, but I have noticed that Whirlwind, especially the 3 pack ones, are not all that great. Her horn colour is rather inconsistent, some are yellow and pink, seen others that are all pink with a tiny bit of yellow, her chest seems to be flaking on a lot too. Then there's Chill and the different positions of her helmet and arm. One I saw yesterday had her arm in line with her eyes.

Makes me feel like a pedantic freak when buying my figures. My local Target has them in a glass case and I have to get the staff to open it, go through about 7 or 8 packs to find ones that are without really noticeable flaws. Never had this problem with Series 1 smilie

I just bought Hot Head. There were 10 of them on the shelf, so I had my pick. Some had very small bit of paint or glue on the face, but nothing that would upset me.

I just want to add on... Based from the figures you sent to me, oh yes! The only error I noticed on any of them was a small scratch of blue on one of the Sprockets' backpacks, and even that was a really minor niggle, so yeah! smilie (And it's a bit late but yep, the blisters held up perfect!
I also want to say while my Gnarly's actual painting is fine, he does have some bumps that show off brown under but they're in spots you hardly look at, and I'm glad just to have one anyway. smilie

I agree. I picked through about 6 of them today and they were all horrible. Notably his teeth, and that yellow smear on top of his head, above his eyes..
