I would love that, I play by myself but I'd love to have some of my friends play with me, the problem is (as mentioned) a bigger portal which could possibly jack up the price.....

what they really need is one player battle mode, where you select a skylander for the computer to play as, and you can set it on easy medium or hard. would be great for an only child, or when my brothers dont feel like playing.

Unless they make a small device that you can plug in the new portals so u can have more than one portal in game at once.

I never play Co-Op or Battle now, so it would be useless to me. I'm sure a lot of people are the same, and some of the people who aren't are probably fine with two players anyway. Remember the days you had to take turns to play multiplayer? Plus, tethers, anyone?
It's something I wouldn't mind seeing- there's just a lot to add that has priority over this, like more more levels, new characters, online, etc.

Meh, I hate Lego game splitscreen.

No, I hate it too. THIS splitscreen wouldn't move around. It would be a straight line through the middle when you got far away.

Nice touch, but there should be a HUD that points to the other players so it would be easy to meet back up.

I don't know, I see it as coincidence if anything. Toys For Bob has existed under that name LONG before they were acquired by Activision; in fact they even wielded that name during their Star Control days.

But yes, there is demand for multiplayer for more than two players. Though, where's the logistics in that? Even if that's the case, the only person who would play with me whether in co-op or battle anyway is my youngest cousin.
And yes, the size of the portal also comes into play as well. Perhaps it would trigger people to get a second portal for those kind of things, or even better, take two players online for multiplayer battling? (Though again, online competitive play scares me )

Well since the plug is usb I can see making a device that has multiple uses so its not just for portals but flash drives and that kind of thing

It's already annoying enough when the white line appears when two characters are too far apart on the screen. And the melees can get confusing with only two players, as well. Four players on the screen at one time would be way too much.

We'd need a bigger tv!

Skylanders 3 = Skylanders GIGA, big portal, online co-op and pvp, 4 player splitscreening, YES, YES, YES!!!

Actually, it's entirely possible to fit four skylanders on a console portal (how I display my legendary characters) without the figures spilling over onto the wall of the portal

And yesterday I was able to fit Tree Rex, and lc Drobot, Eruptor and Prism Break without any 'spillage'

I am fine if the story mode stays two player. What I really want is four player battle mode. It would be like brawl except, better.

^ ^ In the first game, I fit and on the Portal with no 'spillage'.

I was able to fit four giants on my SSA portal. It was tough, but I was able to fit them all in a certain arrangement so that even though some were hanging a bit over the edge, they had enough of their base on the portal so that they could glow.
