they r only $4 here o.O and what i am saying with the blind packs is that it would give them a change to get out more diffrent skylanders. i see that they already have a wide variety but in order to get a good amount out that would b a good way. besides i'm only interessted in the characters anyways lol i have no room for Kaos' castle with my halo mb diorama.

I love both Lego and Mega Bloks brand - my only issue is finding a place to put them all!

oh no..... blind bags!!!! DANGEROUS!!! Once i started getting the MLP blind bags, i HAD to collect them all!! It made it easier that I could trade with my friends cause they got into them too (there's a few of us at work who have a bunch of little ponies on our desks, it's pretty fun... we're recent college grads in our 20's yet i don't think i'll ever grow up! lol it's overrated!)

idk if i'd buy any skylanders only cause i've done the blind bag thing before and know how addicting it gets for me... plus $5.99 is WAY more than the $1.97 for the little ponies which is more justifiable.... UGH you know what they say.... Activision will do... well you already know

actually i can go through a box of blind packs and pick out one of each character in that series. it's all about being able to read the packaging correctly. it's either that or u take the long way of feeling each pack to determine which one it is. and i coulda sworn that the blind packs were cheaper than $6 :/ i will have to check when i stop into work

I really want the one with Cynder and the ship, Spyro and the arkeyan copter and the DarkSpyro portal!

Whichever the $5.99 packs are, it will be a good way to deliver variants of the characters in the larger packs. So we could see legendaries of ones already in the first waves like Ignitor, Jet Vac, Spyro, Chop Chop, and Trigger Happy. It also looks like we'll see some hat variants as well. I wonder if they'll do gold and silver variants like the game characters.

I hope the line is successful because it would be nice to get all my favorite characters, bring on a mega bloks Ghost Roaster!!

i see where the confusion came from. Blind packs are the baggies those cost $2.50-$3 i forgot what falls into the $5.99 slot is the "armory packs" which i also like as an idea, but that is kinda like what the dark spyro set already is sadly. the diffrence is the blind packs are little baggies that u cant see inside so you're not supposed to know what you are getting. The Armory packs like you are suggesting are little single character boxes with a clear plastic front so that you know what you are getting. While I like the idea, the blind packs would be easier to produce due to the fact that they wouldnt have to change the packaging for the characters

Could it be this is what you folks are referring to as Mega Blind packs? These are puzzle pieces.

Yes, Mega Bloks has been making Skylanders Giants puzzles as a subset of the sets themselves.

It's odd to have blind-bagged puzzles, but it's something kids enjoy. We'll be sticking to the Mega Bloks sets in this thread.

Mega Bloks will not be making any blind-packed figures for their Skylanders line. The figure packs have a window so you can see the figure and weapons, along with a little buildable diorama.

Also, Mega have done puzzles for a while, Mega Bloks operates under Mega Brands which has a few other subsidaries, including Mega Puzzles and RoseArt, which I'm sure you're all familiar with.


Anyway, I just ordered a Sky Turret Defence and Troll Mech Ambush set from the US. I've spoke to a few UK retailers and not one of them have a clue when the sets are going to be available now, so I went ahead and brought some to tide me over. I spoke to Argos the other day and they're now claiming that the Swarm Mech Invasion set is no longer an exclusive for them... which is confusing to say the least. I wish Mega Bloks would put out a definitive list of what is available and where it's available as their website is telling us things that retailers are denying.

Went to my local Fred Meyer to do some grocery shopping. In checking the toy aisles, Fred's now carries Mega Bloks Skylanders Giants. Saw two sets, the Giants Trolls Mech Ambush set $19.99 and the Crusher's Pirate Quest set $49.99. Fred's often has a buy one get one free sale. Will have to wait.

there's nothing saying they cant do this in the future or even now as a surprise like they have done plenty of times. I just think it would be a good way to add on more figure at low cost to the consumer and it would be cheaper for them not having to produce a different packaging. i mean with skylanders is there really that big of a variety of sets they can make? they already have a couple turrets where the only difference is the character.

Are they in stores in the US? Like at TRU or somewhere... I have never seen them except online. Are they out yet or only online to order?

They are, very rare now, but mainly at TRU.

It's still a bit early but some places have them. Amazon has the three main sets while different TRUs have different stock. My local TRU only has the Sky Turret Defense right now, while Amazon doesn't get theirs until December.

Everything should be out by December.

Walmart is the first to start advertising for the Megabloks sets.



They've got the Chill set listed at $11.97 and Arkeyan Copter/Swarm sets at $29.97.

Interesting. Hopefully this means the Swarm Mech Invasion will be out soon.

Thanks for reposting the ad picture here. I was just about to mention the interesting prototype box art! The blue looks great, and the Arkeyan Copter Attack has a better composition, but I can understand why they changed the box color from blue (Spyro's Adventure) to orange (Giants).

Prototype Chill looks wierd..

Wish I woulda grabbed some pics in retrospect now, but the TRU I went to today had a few sets out.

There was Chill and the Sky Turret Defense sitting out forward, but they had the Dark Castle Conquest laying down flat sideways on the large front display (you couldn't really even see what they were unless you pulled them out...which isn't a very good display option) Hopefully that was just them sticking them on the shelves and they'll be moved into a better position later. I couldn't see anything else though outside of those 2.

I wonder though- would some stores stick these with the regular Lego/Megabloks stuff? That's always in a back aisle area away from electronics and the Skylanders displays in all the ones near me. Most stores (like Target and Walmart) don't really look like they'd have the shelf space near the Skylanders stuff for them.

how big are the giants compared to a normal mega figure?

Twice the size, naturally! Especially next to Spyro. Everything scales perfectly (though the Troll Mech is somehow larger than Tree Rex).

nice! i was worried about the scale for the figures. But anyways that makes sense, if it was a smaller set it would be too simple and no fun to build lol

I was at Walmart today and they didn't have any of them yet!! Does that ad have a date they're supposed to go on the shelves?? I checked by the Megabloks, then by the Skylanders... no luck!!

I see Toys R Us (US of course) have a special offer on the Megabloks sets - Buy 1, get 1 40% off.

Not quite. Either they sold out in minutes or it was put up too early. They don't even have the Arkeyan Copter Attack up yet.

Though it's a good sign that they'll be getting their Mega Bloks sets in during the next few weeks. Will have to keep checking Walmart as well.

Note: The figure codes are on the back of each set's instruction manual. Save the code before you recycle the instructions and download the PDF versions!

Also, happy 100 posts for this topic! It will be exciting to see how Mega Bloks Skylanders evolves in the future.

We're going to need a bigger limit for the first post. I can barely fit all the descriptions and images into the character count!
