I like the recolors better with exception of Hot Dog.
I left whirlwind out as most people would already have the normal one S1. so would be logical if you can pick both S2 to get the Polar.

The reason I see people liking scarlet better is they know it is the rarer model. It's like peoples obsession with blonde hair until every californian bimbo started to dye their hair. Give me a break.

The better question would be: "If they had the same availability and neither was more common then the other, which one would you grab", which is what I think you were going for and why I answered the way I did. Otherwise, I'm grabbing all the variants and going back for the regulars later.

Not sure about Crusher, I think I might perfer the regular one over Granite, either way I've got both of them.
And although it was intentally left out I have to say I REALLY want to find a polar whirlwind but I refuse to pay scalper prices for any figures I buy. Hunting them down in the stores is half the fun of buying them in the first place.

yeah i rather have the regular colors.

And whats funny is that enough people get into the variants, the regular colors become more unique than the variants.

- Punch. He looks too plain in Blue. He really stands out in Red now for me.
- Regular. I don't like the Blue mask at all. The browny-orange looks more organic like a real Tiki Mask should whereas Royal DT's colors just seem to smush together.
- Polar. I really hate Whirlwind and the lame sky blue paint bucket they threw on her is one of the reasons. Looks a lot more interesting and makes me surprisingly like the character more.
- Granite. I think the pure dark grey and blue flow together a lot better than the light silver, gray, green, and blue of regular Crusher. Just stands out and makes a lasting impression whereas I actually forget what regular Crusher looks like because it's just kinda there.
- Regular. Red, Green, and Brown make for a much better palette on a tree character. It looks so much more natural and just plain better. Gnarly Tree Rex looks like one of those terrible Shiny Pokemon, the wood is an ugly color, and the rest of it is just an unnatural ugly shiny blue. Even the grass underfoot looks worse. It just looks so bad. It looks like somebody went in and grabbed the color slider in Photoshop rather than taking their time to give it an entirely new palette.
- Regular. Red hair is hot, that ugly purple hair Scarlet has going on is not. The purple armor is also a lot more interesting and rare in Skylanders. Spyro and Cynder are the only other purple characters. Now look at how many red characters there are.
- Molten. Largely for the same reason as Regular Ninjini. Yellow is a rarer and more interesting color among the Skylanders. Just look at the fire element alone. Eruptor, Hot Dog, Ignitor, and Sunburn are predominantly Red.
- Jade. Her translucent purply-pink coloring may be more unique but honestly Jade Flashwing just looks plain better. I really don't like Flashwing and Jade Flashwing makes me actually interested in using her.
- Regular. Dark Spyro looks horrible and is just there to appeal to the kids who still think black and darkness is coolest. I'm only surprised it wasn't black and red since that seems to be every middle schooler's favorite color combination.

Oh and Legendary figs look terrible and I have still yet to buy a single one. It is the most unattractive shade of blue and the fact that the entire figures are doused in two colors really loses a lot of the detail and uniqueness behind the characters.

To be honest I hate all recolours.

I love you. I don't even have to explain my reasons because they're all right here. The legendaries are atrocious to me and I don't see why they're so popular. I also don't like the plain color or rock ones because it's like someone derped and now they're "rare". GITD are unnecessary, too. Chances are, I'm not gonna be playing my game in total darkness, especially since the game itself is light.

So far Legendary Ignitor has been the strongest one. Likely because he retains his regular fire so it just looks like different armor. The ugly blue and the fact that the gold feels like it gets lost in the fire still has me going with the original. But this was definitely a step in the right direction.

I feel like if they just went straight black and gold they would look a lot better.

As much as I LOVE regular Hot Dog's design, I'd have to agree that his Molten scheme is more exciting visually than his regular scheme (which can be found not only on Eruptor but also Hot Head). I just don't think the execution was well-done. He looks like cheddar cheese to me. :/

Jadewing vs Flashwing. I love Flashwing's current color scheme and Jade's a bit too intense.
