ok first, before you understand the HC in Giants, make sure you understand HC in S:SA. there were 37 different figures, but 32 characters. only 32 HCs, one for each character. These challanges are completed by any series 1 character.
Newlanders cannot complete these HCs for obvious reasons. But the remodeled characters CAN. Now for Giants. Giant HCs are just like regular HCs. Nothing is special about their challenges, all characters can complete them. Just think of Giants as bigger Skylanders. They are huge, but they are still just skylanders. So in the new game there are 16 new heroics for the 16 new characters. these challenges can be completed by every figure old and new. THere are also 24 new HCs for the Series 2 characters. these can be completed by orange base characters for sure. It remains to be seen if orange base HCs are available for old skylanders. Cynder's Series 2 challange is playable by any old character. But I think she is an exception because shes a starter pack character. ALSO, there are buyable HC in the game. these are just old challenges. And quite frankly, if you have all the HCs done in S:SA, these are worthless to you series 1s, but they can be completed for extra power by the newlanders. Even if the oldlanders can't do the series 2 HCs, they can still do the new 16 HCs, plus Cynders. If you have all 32 from the first game, then series 1 characters can hit a 49 in Heroics. It is my believe that this is the new max for series 1s. BUT for series 2, if you want your giants and newlanders to have nice heroics, then you must get the series 2 figures because they cannot play S:SA. the 16 new ones, plus the 24 series 2 HC, plus the 6 buyable ones, equals 46 possible. Series 2 characters have the highest possible that I can see. They can complete the old game 32, the new 16, and the series 2 24 HCs, for a total of 72 in Heroics. 72! However, this is just a number in heroics and not an indication in power. the heroic challenges completed by a character in the game they are playing represents the power boost they get in that game. So, in other words, if you complete all the HCs in giants with a series 2 character and bring them to S:SA, those HCs will not be represented. I know this because I completed the series 2 cynder challenge with series 2 cynder and when I brought her back to S:SA to load up on Heroics, not only did it not list her gained power, but her heroic level was 0, when it was 1 in Giants. Any questions? |

thanks, i think this cleared up the mud a bit...
so your now forced to get the s2 reposed of older skylanders if you want to max out the newlanders and giants, great... if you could have bought the new s2 hc ingame, it would have been fair but no. this is after all activision and they try to force you yet again to 'collect'em all'. what we really really need to know next is to find out what powers these hc gives and what s2 have these powers.. so people can pick what they want to focus on without buying them all... i think speed is the most important, a fast skylanders run away from troubles faster and react faster when dealing hits. so we can begin with that.... anyone here found out what s2 have the hc that gives you the speed, please type about it here if you know so we all can know. |

The current characters (that I own) that have speed challenges are:
Drobot Chill Fright Rider Ignitor Zook Tree Rex Granite Crusher Unreleased S2s that have speed challenges: Stealth Elf Wrecking Ball Speed challenges you can purchase: Flip the Script Arachnid Antechamber So that leaves one more challenge. I'm not far in the game, so I'm not sure if you can buy it, or who unlocks it. |

Here, let me help you out.
There are 45 Heroic Challenges in Giants. 5 of them are purchased. These 5 are from Skylanders who didn't get Series 2 releases. The other 40 are from the remaining Skylanders in this game. 2 of the Series 2 characters unlock brand new Heroic, while 1 of the old Heroics, is replaced by another Heroic from the first game. The two new Heroics are for Zook and Cynder, while the replaced Amber Medallion Heroic from the first game is now given to Chop Chop, while the Pod Gauntlet challenge is gone altogether (Chop Chop's old Heroic). No Series 1 character unlocks Heroics. All Series 1 characters can do every Heroic from the first and second game, which means their maxed out stats from the first game, now go higher in the second game. An example, is Ghost Roaster. I had all Heroics done for him, and his max speed after all of the Heroics, was 67. After doing 1 new Speed Heroic in the Giants, worth +4 Speed, Ghost Roaster went to 71 speed and shows as having done 33 Heroics. As for what unlocks what, it's the same as in the first game. Wham Shell's Charm Hunt in the first game, is an unlockable in this game. It still gives you a Critical Hit reward upon completion. The two new Heroics for Zook and Cynder give Speed (Zook) and Critical Hit (Cynder). So, if you're looking for a chart of what Heroics reward based on each Series 2, all you need to do is look at the first game, minus series 2 Zook and Cynder, who have new ones, but remember that Chop Chop now has Cynder's old Heroic, while his Pod Gauntlet challenge in the first game is nowhere to be seen.

So I'm assuming you can't "double dip" with the same Heroic Challenge? As in, if you've completed a Heroic Challenge in Skylanders: Spyro Adventure and do the same Heroic Challenge in Skylanders: Giants, you won't get a similar stat increase for a second time?
And if you've got access to the first game and are trying to max out characters, you only need Series 2 Cynder and Series 2 Zook (plus the new blood with their brand new challenges) to hit maximum potential with the older characters? |

My S1 Spyro I've been using for the challenges. Cynder's is the only one I see, but I've also got Gill, Chop, Ignitor and Slam Bam. However, I completed theirs in SSA so that's probably why they're not showing up.
I'm not sure I understand though- what makes Zook so special that he gets a new challenge? Chop gets Cynder, and Cynder I can see because she's a starter pack character. But Zook...wtf?

Wait... Let me get this straight...
There are a total of 50 Heroic Challenges. Each of the new Skylanders and Giants unlock a new Heroic Challenge. That makes 16 Heroic Challenges. Series 2 Skylanders unlock Heroics too. That's 40 Heroics. Series 2 Cynder and Series 2 Zook unlock new Heroic Challenges. Series 2 Chop Chop gets Series 1 Cynder's Heroic Challenge. LightCore Skylanders unlock the same as their Series 2 figures. Still at 40 for those confused. There are now 10 left. Sunburn's Heroic is available from the start. Camo's, Warnado's, Wham-Shell's, and Ghost Roaster's can be bought from Auric. That's 45. Voodood's, Dino-Rang's, Boomer's, Chop Chop's (Serie 1), and Zook's (Series 1) Heroics can only be played in S:SA. Series 1, Series 2, and Series 2 LightCore can complete 50 Heroics. New Skylanders, New LightCore, and Giants can complete 45 Heroics. Did your brain overload? ... Mine too.

It seems kind of weird that they'd specifically block just those five challenges. Is there a gameplay reason why they wouldn't just put them in the shop or offer some other way to unlock them? At-a-glance, I can't see anything that stands out about them to restrict them ... And since they brought back the "don't shoot the wrong color Chompy" challenge, it's not like they went out of their way to pick and choose these things to be ones that wouldn't drive their players insane trying to complete them with everyone ... |

WHen you say they arent showing up, are you saying that the HCs arent available to play with your series 1 skylander even though you have unlocked the challenge with a series 2 character other than cynder? Someone else on this forum said they completed a series 2 challenge with series 1 character and it wasnt the new cynder challenge. does this mean that its because they haven't completed the S:SA challenge that parellels it? ANd if is, then that means that all characters new and old can max out at 45. It seems like theres a huge disagreement with the series 2 challenges being completed by the series 1s. Some say you can, some say you can't. Why is that? BUT... i thought there was 6 buyable HCs, because of this link http://support.activision.com/...&fs=Search&pn=1 unless they are refering to the 6th HC as Cynder's new challenge. Are we in agreement that Cynder's series 2 challenge is special in the fact that she is the only character to legitimately have two seperate challenges? |

Actually, all S2 but zook's, cynder's, and Chop Chop's hc are the SAME, and Chop Chop's is Cynder's Old one, so S2 figures can have 50 chalenges, and you get Sunburn's challenge by default in Giants, and you can buy 4 more of the removed character's challenges, so new figs have 45 challenges (S2's can play the remaining 3 removed char's ones, + zook's and Chop Chop's old ones, which equals 5 more), and I'm guessing that the ones that were actually IN Spyro's Adventure WILL actually count in Spyro's Adventure, but since S2 Cynder's is NEW, it WON'T count. Honestly, you can't just assume that just because cynder's is new, they all are, DID you even buy ANY series 2 other than Cynder? Also, why did you do only Cynder's challenge, and not Sunburn's one avaliable by default in Giants?

Well thats what I'm saying. I've been wondering the whole time. I don't have a series 2 character besides cynder to test it out. You made a alot of sense with zook and cynders challenge. But what I need to know for certain, is the completion of the HCs for series 1s and series 2s. Maybe a lot of the series 2 HCs are the same, but does that mean they reward the same too? Can you redo them to increase your Hero level, or do they show up as 'already completed'? <<<This is what i care most about. also, i did look up darkspyro's sources on it //www.darkspyro.net/giants/heroic/ Also, how come there is someone here saying they have a character with a heroic of 67 if there is a max of 50? EDIT: scratch that, i read it wrong (derp) The reason why this is so fracking confusing, is because five people are saying five different things. OK, so in conclusion, everyone. Take this link for what we are pretty sure we know: //www.darkspyro.net/giants/heroic/ So, in order to max out your heroics for all characters, you need to have all series 1 figures, series 2, cynder and zook, and the 16 newlanders. old characters max at 50, and newlanders max at 45. |

Actually, to max all your chars, the only S1 figs you'd need are Voodood and Boomer, because you could just use S2 Zook and Chop Chop in Spyro's Adventure to unlock their original Challenges (alternatively, you could use S2 Cynder, S2 Zook, and S1 Chop Chop to do all the challenges for S1 and S2 figs, but you'd still need S2 chop chop to unlock the last challenge for New Skylanders)

And you would need Chop Chop 2 anyway in order to get his challenge, and other series 2 challenges available for newlanders. |

so if I have a complete collection of all figures from both games the max heroic challenge level I can get is 50, cept the 16 newlanders/giants can only get up to 45. thats what i got out of all of that. right?
now im still undisided if i want to collect any S2 and LC. if i did not buy any of these, what would be the total heroic level i could obtain for S1 and newlanders? considering that all my S1 are at 32 heroics already from the first game. but now i have to figure in that i definatly will buy Polar Royal and the legendarys of Ignitor Slam Bam and Stealth Elf that i already have. also the legendary of Chill which is a lightcore, but i dont think she matters to anything. how would this change things? |

So can someone clarify wether S1 challenges played in SA give out STATS or just increase the number next to Heroics? I know S1 playing in Giants gives out stats and numbers, BUT I haven't played SA since Giants came out. Anyone up to it?
From what I understand I hear that S2 characters can play S1 challenges in SA, and they give out stats, and I know S1 get stats from all the new Heroics, is this right? So new characters can do the 45 in Giants and S1 and S2 can do the 50 between Giants and SA? And they all get boosts from ALL Heroics? |

Speed is the best, followed by Critical Hit, and in 3rd is Elemental Power. |

Indeed. Back on topic, though ...
The OLD Skylanders get to do 50 Heroic Challenge whereas the NEW ones get 45. Correct? The trading cards for the new Skylanders also indicate slightly higher "base stats" for the newer characters. Does this translate over into the game, too? Maybe the five extra challenges that the Oldlanders get are to make up for the extra points that the Newlanders start with by default. Let's see if I can check that ... ... nope, from what I can see, Series 1, Series 2 and Lightcore Skylanders all start with the same values. Only the Legendaries and certain recolorations get stat boots (Punch Pop Fizz, for example, has +6 Armor and +10 Critical compared to the normal version). So in terms of straight numbers, Legendary Trigger Happy will probably end up having the highest stats of any non-Giant Skylander, as he already had the best stats (other than health) in the first game and has the most potential for "stat growth." |

as i suspected you lose out big time on newlanders because you dont have the s2. toys for bob said s2 is an optional buy, but that is crap talk....
there is no point in the s2 when you have all the 32 from s1, so if things have been fair you should be given the option to buy all s2 hc in the ingame store. s2 is just a money grabbing scheme, so business as usual at activisions.... |

Well, i feel its a miscue. The reason why they have these releases is because they saw that people (us) were interested in the new reposes. Then they wanted to sell them. Then they found out parents wont buy them unless they are different in game. So they are different in game, and the series 1 owners are mad. They tried to please two parties at the same time, and failed.
I bought all 37 figures from series 1, Activision, and none of them unlock a single thing in Giants. Shame. |

I really hope that a 3rd game has things archived for replayability. It would be cool if all series 1 and 2 HCs are purchasable or unlocked in the 3rd game. Seems like it would only be fair, since series 1 owners are getting ripped off of future challenges, and future characters are getting ripped off of past challanges.

I have every thing figured out now for anyone who wants to know.
Im not going to buy any Series 2 or Lightcore Skylanders. But I am going to buy everything else including in-game varients. For anyone else who is planning the same thing as me, the totals are: My orignal figures all have 32 chalenges done from the first game. They will do the 16 Newlander's chalenges for a total of 48. The 2 challenges they will not be able to compleate are Cynder's and Zook's because they have new challenges in the new game that only unlock with the Series 2 figures of them. as for Polar, Royal, L-Ignitor, L-Slam Bam and L-Stealth Elf they can also have a total of 48 if you do challenges in both games. but only a total of 26 if you only play them in the new game. the Newlanders will compleate there own 16 challenges, the 5 challenges for Polar Royal and the three Legendarys, and Aurics 5 challenges. that makes the Newlanders total 26. since they can not be played in the first game, thats going to have to do for them. |
