So where can they be found? I've checked Walmart, Target and TRU with no success.

Do you have any more info? I didn't know there were going to be trading cards of any sort beyond the ones that come with each figure.

I'm a card collector from way back, so it could be a fun way to connect another one of my hobbies beyond toys and games.

If you go on ebay or amazon you can see them. They aren't like a tcg like pokemon or anything. But they are kind of cool. Like baseball cards. So they should be right up your alley

you'll need to open well over a hundred packets to get a set, i know because i've opened hundreds of packets to build full sets. even then i've still needed to buy certian ones off ebay to complete.

... but just in case you can't be bothered to rip open hundreds of packets and still not have a full set feel free to send me a message

I was in Target today and above their card section in the front they had images of the Skylanders Trading Cards and these...dog tag things. (I dunno if they have these outside the US. Basically they're little metal things that were used in wars to identify soldiers. Now they're kind of collectable things)

All it said was "Coming Soon" but that's usually within 1-2 months.

The dog tags should be in all places that the trading cards are as they are released by the same manufacturer.

Here in Oz, my son got some sort of free mag from school - it says that the card and tags are out "now" and the starter pack for the card is due early Dec. I put now in quotes as I have not seen any in stores so I expect that was a tad optimistic and means in a few weeks.

If you guys are talking about the packs by Topps, I've seen them various times, both at Walmart and Toys 'R Us. The latter even had a special binder and a chrome-y Legendary Bouncer card.

Where are you? I've checked both places and haven't found anything.

Release date from Topps was supposed to be today, the 7th.

All wal marts i've checked have the dog tags. Which are not really, worth it. They didn't even make all of them. Ninjini, Eye Brawl, Sprocket, and Flashwing all don't get dog tags.

Lol, that's terrible. They're easily searchable in the system. You must be going into NSW stores, right?

Queensland.

I am sure that they are searchable in the system. After all, my starter deck pre-order is at my local EB.

However, this is in the context of stores getting 3 packs a week; neither store had seen hide nor hair of any.

The Target by me has the cards, but no dog tags in sight. Not that the dog tags are worth anyone's time, but...

I ended up buying a few packs @ $1.99 apiece. Sounds like a good deal, right? Not so much - You only get SIX cards per pack. SIX CARDS?! For two bucks?! Things sure have changed since the X-Men and Spider-Man cards or the late 80's - early 90's.

...oh, yeah... Going to EB Games or GameStop is probably a huge waste of your time. If they are getting in 2-3 packs a week... Target had three BOXES, with probably 50-75 packs per BOX, just out on the shelf.

^ Pffff, please. We used to have packs of seven Pokemon cards for seven dollars here. At Big W, a store often reputable for being the cheapest option.

I have Sprocket heading to me from eBay, but I don't plan to buy any of the packs unless someone just sells a complete one with everything- I learned my lesson hard with Pokemon cards.

I do think it is sort of a rip off as well. Considering I used to play Magic the Gathering - which have a lot more detail in the artwork and thought behind them than these Skylanders cards...and those were $3.50-$4 for a pack of 15.

Granted, I knew that they wouldn't be the same type of cards, but they weren't as neat as I hoped.

I knew someone would bring up the Pokemon cards' price! I was in college when those were big and I only every had any interest in the Pokemon video games, so I don't have any experience with the cards' price, high or low as it may have been.

Alright. I just received my uk binder in the mail today. For those of you that are still wondering about the difference between US and UK, here it is....... Size. That's about it. We have a 4-pocket sleeve, they have 9-pocket. The type of binder is exactly the same. Its top loading with paper inserts with the checklist on it same as ours. The cool side is that it DOES come with a Master Eon card. And it also comes with a Collector Guide that folds out into a checklist poster, showing you pics of all the cards and then little liddy activities on the reverse side. It also.. came with a pack of cards. Their card packaging is different. Same pic but its more of a mirror-like foil. Still comes with six. BUT, upon examining a difference between my US Zap and UK Zap cards, US has a small bio on the back whereas the UK is plain so this is NOT recommended if you are trying to complete the card set. It will be an imperfect set. Well I hope this helped. Would I recommend the binder? YES. Just bewarr of the cards.
