what information saves to the toys themself? my main goal is to completely max out each one of my skylanders by doing everything that can possibly be done. can anyone give me a list of all the things that need to be done? i allready complety maxed out my 37 series 1 skylanders in the first game. do series 2 skylanders need to do anything in the first game to be maxed out?

ok here is my list. tell me if im missing anything.

48 Heroics - very confused on this. is the total amount going to be diferent between S1 and S2 ?

other things that save to the toys are:

65000 Gold
99:99 play time
Hats
Nicknames
Hero Level

Level.
Money.
Experience.
Hats.
And now completed quests.

Don't worry about remaining L:1 for a heroic. They've all been made more friendly, I can't imagine any posing the problems of Drobot or Double Trouble's in the first game, even though both of those challenges still exist. That's how much more merciful HCs are this time.

I'd say do the +Speed ones before leveling though. That's just common sense.

I hope the Drobot HC has been made easier! I couldn't do it at all! Even with Drobot himself! I have the Xbox 360 and I had to kill 100 green Chompies, not 55! And Double Trouble's challenge isn't very hard for me....even with a Stump Smash!

good thing to know about the heroics.

and by experience you mean upgrades? also i plan on doing both upgrade path for series 2, do the 3 legendarys polar and royal able to path switch?

how many heroic challenges are there then? 48?

Upgrades. Right, I always say experience instead of it, I have no idea why....

If you opened up your character menu and selected quests, pressing your primary attack button, you will see all your quests are. The more you do the higher your rank. Your ranks let your specific character wear a top hat of that level.

Also look into Hero Levels from Universe. I'm not sure if they're ever seen in the Giants game, but they're still registered to the figure. Though they go up to a pretty much absurd Level 50 so the time spent leveling one figure on there usually outweighs that of completing several figures in the game.

Actually skylanders have 9 quests
6 are the same for ALL Skylanders
2 are the same for ALL Skylanders of the same element
and...
1 is unique to that skylander
for every 3 quests you complete, your rank goes up
finishing 3 quests gives your skylander bronze rank
finishing 6 gets you skylander to silver rank
and finishing all 9 gets your skylander to gold rank
each rank unlocks a hat for that specific skylander, which will be a tophat made of the very metal the rank is named after, and while normal hats only give up to 2 different stats, the rank. it also puts a medal next to the skylander's name, and apparently (not 100% sure on this, as I have only read about this on this forum, and while I don't actually HAVE the game, the other things I AM sure about because I got them from the OFFICIAL strategy guide of Skylanders: Giants) decorates the Elemental Symbol of your skylander that appears right before it gets through the portal of power, by surrounding it with a pattern of the color of that specific metal.

i am not going to be doing anything with the hero level, since its got to do with a different game.
i didnt bother collecting max money with my S1 figs cuz its just pointless, so i prolly wont do it this time around either.
also i dont think im going to bother with the play time either for the same reason.
but everything else i plan on doing to satisfy the completionest in me.

The S1 characters do not unlock new challenges in Giants. The challenges that were for the ones that didn't get reposed (Boomer, Voodood, etc.) can be bought from Auric.

So yes, there are 48 challenges total.

So, if you do heroic challenges with S2 figures on both games, the numbers do not max out?

Skyhunter: they let you buy SOME of the non reprinted skylanders' challenges, but not all according to my official bradygames strategy guide, which only show 5 of those challenges for purchase even though there are 8 skylanders who weren't reprinted, meaning you get 45 heroic challenges.
Hazzard: Edit: nevermind. Yes, you will complete gold rank at the same time as your quests, because completing ALL your quests is how you GET gold rank.

Not all 32 original Heroics count for Giants, so if you have a Series 2 character and you level up all the way and plan to use it later on in Spyro's Adventure just fair warning you won't have all 32 complete if you go to it.

so let me see if i got this.

a S1 skylander with all heroics done in the first game can complete 16 more heroics in giants.

a S2 skylander can only complete 48 heroics if he dos all heroics in both games.
if so im just going to heroic them up is SSA before i bring them over to giants.
im going to believe the guide is wrong about not being able to buy all 8 missing skylander heroics.

a newlander can complete all 48 heroics in giants.

if i do not buy any S2 skylanders, my S1 skylanders would still be able to have all 48 heroics.
but my newlanders will only be able to have 16

Well here's the thing, all of my S1 figures are 32 on HC. And yet, S2 Cynder unlocks a challenge that has yet to be completed by a series 1 figure. This would imply that the HC level is a minumum of 49. If all series 2 figures unclock a new HC, then series 1's might be able to complete 72 HCs. BUT, it looks like it doesn't give them more added skill. I'm still trying to comfirm this, and its frustrating that i only have cynder for series 2.

So, if anyone wants to help, please tell me, can a series 1 skylander play a series 2 HC that is NOT cynder, and when they complete them, does the heroic challenge level go up, and do they get boosted stats.

um u said both paths on S2, they cant do that. they can switch paths(reset abiliies linked to the path).

this heroic stuff is just to complicated.
and S2 can do both paths. they dont reset. but they can only have 1 at a time.

So I just took my series 1 Cynder and completed the series 2 cynder challenge. it gave me +5 on critical hit, putting it at 100. Is that maxed out? maybe. Any of my series 1 skylanders can complete the new cynder challenge. But does anyone have a series 2 challenge that is not cynder's completable by series 1 figures.

so let me get thiz clear once and for all about what can be maxed out...

- giant have their hc...

1. can only be done by giants????
2. can be done by s1, s2 and new????
3. giants don't have hc????
4. cant be done by s1????

(8 giants is a must buy so no problem)


- new skylanders have their hc...

1. can only be done by new skylanders????
2. can only be done by s2 and new skylanders????
3. cant be done by s1????
4. can be done by s1,s2, new and giants????

(8 new skylanders, no problem there gonna get them too)


- series2 skylanders have their hc... (the most important questions)

1. can only be done by s2????
2. can only be done by s2 and new skylanders????
3. cant be done by s1????
4. can be done by s1,s2, new and giants????
5. s2 hc can be bought ingame, to max out s1, new, giants????
6. do s2 have same hc as s1????

(i have no interest in buying the s2, so if i need them to max out... then.. houston we have a problem!)


so if anyone here is expert and can answer this complicated questions please do so...

i think the problem here is that we dont even know the total amount of heroic challenges. once we are able to figure that out we can go about figuering out how to compleat them all. is there any way for someone to check the games codeing to figure this stuff out? or maybe even the toys codeing?

so before we do anything we need to awnser these questions:

total amount for S1 skylanders with 32 heroics completed from first game.
total amount for S2 skylanders with 32 heroics completed from first game.
total amount for newlanders.

once we know these, then we will worry about how they unlock and what the benifits are.

I've tacken "the Elf" through some of the series 2 challenges, and her numbers are nice.

But yeah, this means series 2 characters and giants luck out because they can not go through the original game's challenges.

Still,
Some of the series 2 characters starting stats are numerically higher anyway, it would be interesting to see just how much stronger they can get if they go through the first games challenges.

Was your stealth elf a series 1?

Thanks for the info. Actually, Series 2, the remodeled skylanders CAN do the heroics from the first game. Just put the in the game and complete them.

Also, the 6 buyable HCs are just 6 from the old game. So they serve no real purpose, unless you dont have the first game.

But, since series 1 CAN do the series 2, that would mean that all characters max out at 72. the reason why i think this is fishy is because when I look at the stats screen for one of my series 1s, they have a 32 in heroics, and it looks like this in Giants:

The reason why look at this is important is that it looks like im two thirds the way there. And if you figure the math, that would mean 16 to fill the empty gap. if there is only room for 48 in the heroic bar, how is there 72 possible?

OR, it could be, that the bar fills at 48, but the heroic can keep increasing.

CORRECTION: Because Giants and newlanders can't do the old HCs (except the 6 that you can buy), their max should be 46, like ive stated.

i dont even bother with HC cause they are a waste of time and dont make a NOTICEABLE change in your stats
i beat nightmare without any HCs done for my guys

you sound like you know what your talking about spyrofan12 but can i ask about how you came to that conculsion with the amount of heroic challenges? such as what unlocks what. i just dont understand the math.

so if I have a complete collection of all figures from both games the max heroic challenge level I can get is 50, cept the 16 newlanders/giants can only get up to 45. thats what i got out of all of that. right?

now im still undisided if i want to collect any S2 and LC. if i did not buy any of these, what would be the total heroic level i could obtain for S1 and newlanders? considering that all my S1 are at 32 heroics already from the first game.

but now i have to figure in that i definatly will buy Polar Royal and the legendarys of Ignitor Slam Bam and Stealth Elf that i already have. also the legendary of Chill which is a lightcore, but i dont think she matters to anything. how would this change things?

Alright... From what I know-
45 Heroics in Giants.
S2 and S1 can do these, PLUS, the 5 unavailable in Giants through playing SA.
The 5 unavailable DO affect stats in Giants. But they only give out a bonus to Critical Hit in Giants, even though some gave out different stats(I remember Pod Gauntlet used to give you Speed, it still will in Adventure but in Giants it changed into an extra for Critical Hit).
So all new characters miss out on in terms of Heroic stat boosts is an extra 25 points on Critical Hit. Not a huge loss.
