I can't find gnarly tree rex by himself anywhere. even when put with the ps3, i can't find him. please help

Oh, you'll find one for about $200. Anyways, the blue Wii bundle is extremely rare from what I've heard, and if a store gets it there would only be 2 or so bundles. And both may be scalped, or just bought.

Thanks for the info. I just preordered. I plan on just keeping Tree Rex and piecing it out. Hoping to get maybe $100 back. Would be nice to get more though. WUMBOSIMPSON, I'm curious, why do you think it's going to be rare?

Just picked up the Wii bundle. The local Fred Meyers on the West Coast carry them. They had only 1 bundle... Wootily woot!

There will be, but most will not contain Gnarly Tree Rex, but instead regular Tree Rex that they replaced. And likely people will sell Gnarly between 150-200 dollars...just an estimate. Won't be selling mine.

yes it does. but the prices will go down. that's basic sales. im guessing that it will go down to about $30 to $50. that is about te price range that i am willing to pay for this figure

Well...you can hope so, but with the only way to get it is by spending 150 dollars and very limited quantities of them being shipped to stores...that means a limited amount available. Not to mention those that buy it are likely keeping it for themselves. So I would expect by xmas to see them fetch 150 if they don't put continue to produce them after the initial run of em.

So one of those started at a penny on eBay and is up to $61 now. With two days to go. Yeah it'll be awhile before he goes cheap looks like. Here's hoping Royal Double Trouble doesn't have the same luck.

I'm with Xerokills on this one. As long as the bundle is fairly limited, I could see this figure maintaining a $50 - $100 price indefinitely. It appears as though he'll be much more desired than he is common, just based on the circumstances of his availability.

I have been asked by a few people now to "name my price" for my Gnarly. The truth of the matter is if i sold him, I would have to try to get a replacement myself anyway.

My more pressing question is does he come up as a standalone character in the 3DS version? It lists 99 possible Skylanders to be imported. I've imported my S:SA collection and all the Giants and variants (currently available) with the exception of Lightcore Jet Vac and Gnarly Tree Rex. I'm at 73/99.

I really hope someone can answer this for me - it is driving me nuts.

The first question is addressed in the post above yours. Unfortunately, I can't answer the second until Christmas, but I would suspect he does show up as his own character - it appears as though he does in the console edition, after all.

I have him registered onto my 3DS save and he saves on as a sepearate character.

Interesting to note is that Special figures don't get their own sepearate pages, yet neither do they unlock the regular ones. I registered Special Fright Rider, but Fright Rider's page is still off, and he didn't get his own.

So I think it's only counting for S1, S2, LightCore, new characters and ingame reskins...

If you order it right now online, you get a free case, the free Wham-Shell, and the Wii.

Keep the Gnarly, sell the Wham-Shell, the Wii, and the case, and you'll end up getting the Gnarly for $20-$30. You will never, ever see the character sell individually for less than that.

It would be futile to hold out and wait for the character's price to drop.

The sidekicks ARE different characters, so yeah. My flocked Stumpy does not appear different, however. I don't have Blue Bash or Red Drill Sergeant.

That's what I did. Sold each of the cases (made 3 seperate orders for 3 cases) for 20 bucks. I am selling one wii with a copy of the game, portal, and series 2 Cynder with her card and sticker (keeping Gnarly and Jet-Vac plus their card and sticker) to my neighbor across the street for 100, which means I paid about 78 for one Gnarly so far, after tax and shipping, and I get to keep the box since my neighbor doesn't care about the box.

I still have one more Wii and Starter to sell, which I will be selling for 100, minus Gnarly, Jet-Vac, and their cards and the box it all came in of course.

It's a good way for someone who might not have 130, to get a Wii for 30 bucks off, but get a game to boot, minus two characters, but the game is basically free, because there is no way to buy a Wii now for just 100 bucks. It's either one of the two 129 dollar bundles, or 150 dollar Skylanders bundle.

The third Wii with Gnarly is staying sealed. That means me spending 534 for 3 Wii's after tax and shipping, gets busted down to 274 dollars for 2 open Gnarly Tree Rex's and a sealed Wii with Gnarly. Not bad, considering someone online paid over 300 for just ONE.

No, only SG variants (and I mean ones which don't show up as different in the game) have the flag stating that they are special. This we not encoded on the S:SA figs.

As long as those people are aware that they can't play through without a giant.

That is why I bundled a sep giant in the PS3 deal I made.

Something to consider, but there's no given this won't appear at other US stores which would make it a lot easier for some folks to pick up and break even a little better. Heck if Wal-Mart gets it I can use my discount on it to boot.

I actually did think about the people who would sell Gnarly because it is "just a recolor." The only problem there is even if you do find one at a Gamestop, it won't have the online code, sticker or trading card.

I don't see a significant quantity being sold for that particular reason. If they bought it partially for the starter (if Gnarly Tree Rex in particular isn't the appeal, then it has to be the combo of the Wii and Starter), why would they be interested in selling Gnarly since he'd be their Tree Rex regardless of the version? It seems unlikely that a significant percentage of purchases will go this way - certainly not enough to meet the demand in such a way that the price of Gnarly would be brought down as a result.

I don't think people were "forgetting" this possibility. Just discounting it, because it's not realistically likely to factor into the price/demand of Gnarly relative to the availability.
