I own him and never really played as him. Sadly that trend is going to continue since he isn't coming back. Wrecking Ball is terrible in looks and play and I wish he'd have been left out. Unfortunately a chubby ball with a tongue is exactly what kids like.
Think it should have been Zook. Shroomboom already does his job better than he does. Camo on the other hand is a very cool looking character. He's the most vibrant Skylander and so your eyes are instantly drawn to him. The concept is really cool and fun in execution and he's one of the dragons and so the de facto leader of his element. I think it was a missed opportunity because if there's one thing kids love it's vibrant colors and dragons.
I don't think anyone like Zap. And it doesn't help that he is arguably the worst character in the game with no real redeeming qualities besides maybe character concept. It's really annoying that it was so hard for everyone to find Wham-Shell, he was the last character released only a couple months before Giants comes out and they've already made him obsolete by not giving him a repose. And he's such a COOL character. That metallic finish just makes him irresistible. I barely got him this month and I just can't bring myself to play as him because he's fighting at a disadvantage out of the box.
I'm not too tore up about this but I think I would have preferred Prism Break staying out. Especially with crusher already serving as our big made of rocks dude. However, I do like the uniqueness to Prism Break's playstyle. Bash and Terrafin are great, glad they came back. Again, not TOO tore up about this as all the Earth Skylanders are just really well done.
Ghost Roaster was one of the coolest undead. It was just such a strong concept, the character looked awesome, and the moves were fun too. You've gotta love that laugh. I really don't care for Cynder, Hex, or Chop-Chop at all. If I had my way Cynder DEFINITELY would have gone. My friend loves Hex I guess but man, this one was disappointing. Especially now that I have Fright Rider and really don't care for him either. Might be Eye-Brawl or bust for me.
Never played as Boomer much but was disappointed to see him go. Thought Drill Sergeant was just a lame character all around. Not fun to play, not fun to look at. Don't know why they're so adamant about pushing him what with the Red variant, exclusivity, and now a repose. They really dropped the ball on this one too. Bouncer already satisfied your robot crowd and is even the same color scheme. A GOOD pyromaniac troll is a fresh and fun concept. Kids would eat this up if you pushed him. He's got a big goofy face and throws dynamite to make everything blow up. What's not to love? Whereas Drill Sergeant is really hard to like. He has no personality whatsoever and a really awkward play-style so what really draws you in and keeps you there?
Never liked Flameslinger and now that Ignitor's Wow Pow gives him Flameslinger's only redeeming quality the character is pretty much pointless. Sunburn was a much cooler concept and just a really cool character to look at. He stands out among all the Skylanders and would have been a good one to push for marketing, along with Camo. Then look at Flameslinger. We already have elves in Stealth Elf, Fright Rider, and Hex. Did we really need to bring back Flameslinger as well? He's not a particularly interesting character when stacked up against a Lava Monster that fights with barf, a possesed suit of flaming armor that spits up a flaming, exploding, trail leaving body, a flaming puppy, and a Phoenix-Dragon.
As with Sunburn, Camo, and Wham-Shell, it's really annoying that Warnado was one of the last ones released and then not given a repose. I get the idea behind it. They were released last so people are still playing with them, therefore no need to repose them. But that doesn't really work here. They were the hardest to find and when we did find them we were given very little time to play with them before Giants came out and made them obsolete by not offering a repose and a Wow Pow. And really,
DOES ANYONE IN THE WORLD PLAY AS WHIRLWIND? Warnado, Lightning Rod, Jet-Vac and Sonic Boom are all awesome looking, have awesome character concepts, and are just a blast to play as. Then you've got Whirlwind. They drew up a dragon, pasted a horn on it, dunked it in some sky blue paint and made it shoot rainbows. I don't think I dislike any Skylander more than Whirlwind. She's not fun to play as. Sits in Zap's tier of terrible. Not fun to look at. She's just
BORING.
Also, does anyone else find it beyond idiotic that we actually got some character returning as S2 AND Lightcore, yet others were left out?
Eruptor, Drobot, Prism Break and Hex don't need Lightcore and S2 variants. I'd rather Hot Dog, Sprocket, Flashwing and Fright Rider get a Lightcore with the rest of the new ones or just make all the new characters Lightcore and instead of say a Lightcore and Regular Jet-Vac, we can bring back Warnado.
A really good char, should have left out Wrecking Ball, despite the cuteness, he's pretty lame.
I completely agree, camo is too overrated.
Another sad trick to make him more rare, though I hate Zap.
