So, I was about to get a Bouncer. It was $5.99 shipping, $0.99 the current price. At 10 seconds left, I hit place bid of somewhere around $3.00. With 7 seconds left, I hit confirm. At 3 seconds left, "An Error Occurred, Please Try Again!" But by then, it was too late. Someone got MY Bouncer for $7.00 because of an ERROR. And this isn't the first incident I've had with Ebay. About 10 months ago, I was trying to get Chop Chop. At 5 seconds, it's 5 dollars. I place my bid of 6 dollars. In the last 2 seconds, the price rises by 20 dollars and 10 bids. I hate Ebay...

Yeah you're definitely not alone. I lost a New "Swarm" the other day for 9.00 this way. Really sucks.

I like eBay. I got a ton of Spyro stuff from there. Here's a picture of my collection... From two years ago! It has grown massively since then- like at least two or three times larger- because of eBay and I have stuff like the Japanese guides and games now.
SORRY I JUST BRAGGED. I don't know why you have this issue, but seriously, never rely on eBay for Skylanders. Most people don't even pack them right and the blisters get broken. |

Aren't you the fan? I only started liking it after LoS ended. Too bad for me. Still don't have

Me Too! I'd buy it straight from Gamestop but it's 35 bucks! for the Pre-owned! And I can't seem to find it anywhere else! I'd really ADORE if someone were to lend a working copy of it....

i remember buying that game new for ps3 for $16. I didn't realize it at the time, which was a couple years ago, but I was lucky to pick it up new before cheap new copies vanished on the internet. But here's amazon, they got it for $30 right now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer...n&condition=new |

I hate to be contrarian but that is like hating a new site for bad news. EBay did not do the sniper bids, other users did. Sure, the first example discussed the site having an error but did you realistically expect to get it for $3 when the final amount was $7? Or do you mean they got it for $1 + $6 shipping? In any case, why not bid before 10 seconds were left? Your second example shows you actually snipe(r) yourself by talking about a bid in the closing seconds - this is the risk you take by only bidding in the closing moments (I know as I have done it, I just don't complain if it doesn't go my way).

ebay is a great place to get things!
Unless they're rare or popular, then getting them there is stupid.

Agree with the people who like eBay. It's not their fault that those things happened, as chaosworrier pointed out.
I also agree that it's a great place to buy and sell rare stuff (you've got the world at your disposal that way), but not so much for new stuff that you can still find in stores. |

Honestly, you didn't get screwed that badly. I mean, you were about to score a $15 figure for a fraction of the price, so if anything you were about to get TOO lucky and then reality stepped in. If anything, Giants being available for prices like this are why eBay is a GOOD thing.

Ebay has done me a great service. Just won myself a BNIB- L-Bouncer, L- Triple pack (And it came with a bonus WERDS) won all that for 38 dollars free shipping. Not bad I must say. I just scored the new Legendaries (4 of them) for less than I could have gotten them in store.
That was a lucky break... So ebay isn't all that bad, though I do admit I lost out on a sproket for 8.00 since my computer decided to lag. But thats bound to happen from time to time. So its not exactly ebays fault. (I know I said before I get annoyed with ebay)- And I do, but meh its just part of the territory I guess.

So, to summarize:
eBay sucks when you miss out on good deals (whether or not it's your own fault), and it's awesome when you get good deals. In other news, grass is green.

It's called "myibay.com", a free service for bid-sniping. It's technically a set-n-forget service that places your bid in the last few seconds of an auction. Tho the site looks shady it's actually completely legit. You enter in your ebay handle and password, it sets up a screen where you enter the item number and then mark the options. You can set it to bid a maximum amount say, $50 but at the very last 3 seconds of the auction. When ebay suddenly has 10 different myibay bids at the same time from the same server as you experienced, it can get errors. Ebay's algorithms have to process the bids instantly and within fractions of a second. |

I guess Evilbay isn't always evil. I scored a legendary bouncer for 15 dollars when my closest Toys R Us is 2 hours just to get there.
