I'm interested to hear about people's collections of Skylanders and how they have upgraded them, as well as which they regard as part of their "team".
In this thread you can list each of your Skylanders along with any other additional comments about them, such as their current upgrade paths, nicknames, what hat they wear, any funny stories about how you got hold of them, etc.
You can also list your Skylanders "Team", where you list one favourite Skylander you have from each element, and sometimes one Giant.
My Collection: (Updated 08/12/2012)
Listed in roughly the order I got them.
- "Spyro" - Sheep Burner path.
- "Bluto" - Water Weaver path. Always my personal favourite.
- "Ego Happy" - Golden Money Bags path. Used to be on Golden Frenzy. Likes to wear a soldier helmet. Once bugged out and stopped working before I revived him using the PC Version's trick that fixes dead Skylanders: I now regard him as a sort of "zombie" Skylander.
- "Golem" - Crystaleer path. Used to be on Prismancer, but those yellow crystals looked awful.
- "Wade" - Tesla Dragon path. Used to be a Slime Serpent.
- "Thrall" - Marauder path.
- "Tyrande" - Forest Ninja path. Used to be a Pook Blade Saint who wore a sailor's hat.
- "Ego-Rang" - Grand Boomerang Master path. Likes to wear the Admiral hat.
- "Valius" - Soul of the Flame path.
- "Wraith" - Nether Wielder path. Purchased from a someone in America before she was widely available here in the UK. It was pretty expensive!
- "Fizziks" - Demolition Troll path. Wears an army officer hat, or sometimes a berret.
- "Furion" - Treefolk Charger path. Very recently reset from Lumbering Laserer, because I couldn't stand that Pod Maker armour anymore.
- "Shredder" - Eye of the Storm path.
- "Alchemist" - Best of the Beast path. Was going to be on Mad Scientist, but I had a change of heart and reset him before I'd even finished buying Mad Scientist's upgrades.
Getting , Series 2 and Series 2 for christmas.
Used to have an called "Magmaul" on the Magmantor path, but sold him.
Used to have a called "Grizelda" on the Medea Griffin path, but donated her to the youth club I go to.
I was recently hit with an odd inspiration to thin my collection to just the Skylanders that I feel a significant emotional attachment to. This is the reason why I got rid of my Eruptor and Sonic Boom.

I actually own all the figures other than a majority of the first game's variants, Granite Crusher and Glow Cynder who I am getting, but my team is...
Team Underdogs (Blitz Spyro)- I like his Stun asset, but that's pretty much the only reason I use him. Possibly to be replaced by Pop Fizz, who I need to test more in Battle. (Crystaleer)- There was never contest. I just don't find Earth fun other than Prism Break. And that's what my team is all about, which characters I find most fun. (Frozen Fury)- My god, Chill is awesome. She squarely sits at the top of Water for me now. I get chills up my spine thinking about that awesomeness. She just freezes you in your tracks with it. Undeniably, so cool. Infectious, ingenious, Chill has it all, and she has an effective playstyle all the time. (Blademaster)- Fire doesn't have any other proper Meleeist. Also, from what I hear, other impressions are Flameslinger is now broken due to a new ease in setting up Supernova- time to pack bags on that- Sunburn stays unreposed, not that I wanted him, Eruptor never interested me, and Hot Dog seems like an inferior, less enjoyable Chill. (Operator)- I don't actually have her YET but it's such an obvious choice, no? (Bone Crafter)- AUGH UNDEAD! I hate, hate, hate how they made you the new Earth! But you know the saying... If you can't beat them, join them. So I'll join up with Hex. But I'll try not to use her Wow Pow unless the situation completely warrants it. Simply irks me that it's there... But I still think Hex is the most enjoyable Undead Ranger- go screw yourself Cynderp! (Lightning Lord)- There was never doubt in me that Jet-Vac would fail to fix Air's issues. If anything, Swarm does a better job at such. So, for the Element that is worst at Battle, just go with the guy who eats llamas! Besides, if his Wow Pow does decent damage, it could really save him from a lot of tight spots. Lightning Rod is a very cool character all round, regardless of how open to attack he is when using The Most Powerful Grand Lightning Attack Ever. Lightning Rod to me, to Prism Break, with standard projectiles, plus what I call a "drop attack", and being Rangers with close-up attacks(Zapper Field and Crystal Eruption). Worst case scenario, if that bothers me so much, I may simply put a Series 2 Sonic Boom down- brace for it- Siren Griffin. She will be Like A Siren! (Nut Crafter)- He and Forest Ninja are the only Life Elementals I like. There's potential for this to change with his Wow Pow, however, and I may change over to her. I'll need to wait until I get my hands on and test him for what I find a fair evaluation. Gnarly - I never use Giants. I just put my most used down. To sum up... My team right now is... (Blitz Spyro) (Crystaleer) (Frozen Fury) (Blademaster) (Demolition Troll) (Bone Crafter) (Lightning Lord) (Nut Crafter) And the team I'll probably end up using is... (Blitz Spyro) (Crystaleer) (Frozen Fury) (Blademaster) (Operator) (Bone Crafter) (Siren Griffin) (Forest Ninja) OR (Nut Crafter)- There's an equal chance of both simply because Stealth's repose is designed inconsistently with Forest Ninja, but I might switch Nut Crafter to Smash'N'Bash So... I'm sort of... A hipster. NAH, not really, I just have more fun with weaker characters, which tend to be less loved paths. |

I can be similar: I always choose my upgrade paths based on which one feels more like a personal choice, rather than which one is better or more obvious. This sometimes means I choose the less loved path because I find it more fun. It's cool hearing about people's teams, but i'm quite interested to see people's actual full collections.

My collection is in my sig but the ones I mostly play as are...
- "Jekyll n Hyde" (Bowler Hat) - Beast Master - I went down Beast Master because I love the beast form and the 3DS Pop Fizz plays just like Mad Scientist anyway once he's leveled up. I customized my Skyland in Universe so it'd be like the lair of a mad scientist just for Pop Fizz since I mostly play as him. - "King Zing Sting" - Barberous Avenger - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nxuRwkVPx0 - "Cormano" (Sombrero) - Sandhog - FAST AS A SHARK, HE'LL CUT OUT OF THE DARK.. - Flame Lord - Flame Lord is a fun, tricky playstyle. It focuses more on tricking and trapping your opponents than just "Press button to win". In Spyro's Adventure, Blaze Dragon wasn't all that good but it got buffed in Giants so I'll have to see. - "Spinal" (Pirate Doorag) - Fear Eater - It increased his versatility in Spyro's Adventure and now it's the better path in Giants due to his skull charge only hitting once now. - "Funky Kong" (Pirate Doorag) - Glacial Yeti - I liked the idea of having a melee capable caster, even if in Spyro's Adventure, Blizzard Brawler was a better path. - (Toy Soldier Helmet) - Joust Jockey - I just barely got this guy, but I plan on co-oping with my brother's while going down the Joust Jockey path.

Thanks for that. That made my afternoon. EDIT: I've been looking through most of everyone's teams, and they all look like pretty cool combinations. I'd be interested to know stories people have as to why they chose the certain Skylanders for their team that they did choose: What do you like about those Skylanders that you prefer to other Skylanders from the same element? Do you have any fun personal experiences with them or such that gave you an attachment to them?

for my team, i like to have 1 of each major attack style. right now, the classes are: melee, ranged low dmg, ranged high dmg, hit/run,speedster,lobber, mid range, and barrier maker.
meleeist: mrauder. the highest dmging melee guy definitely deserves this spot. he does extremely high dmg, and can murder a wide variety of enemies within 10 seconds. ranged low dmg: super shards. she is ok, kinda good, and good with dealing with crowds of enemies. will be drobot when i get for my bday. ranged high dmg: floral defender. this guy is so awesome. his attacks are cool, he can kill fast, and is basically unbeatable. hit/run: sandhog. this dude is low dmging, but makes up for that by being invincible while dealing the dmg. might change for flameslingerwhen i get. speedster: nether welder. she is an effective mid range/speedy hybrid. she does nice dmg with the exploding ghosts, too. lobber: volcanor. i know, it sounds weird, but this dude can erupt, burp huge balls, and then smother with lobbed balls to do muchas dmg. might change with pop fizz when i get. mid range: crystaleer. this dude rules. he can drop crystals, shoot beams, then use the crystal eruption within a few seconds to do insane dmg. AND, the enemies attack the crystals before they attack him! you can easily destroy stuff with him. barrier maker: granite dragon. he does insane dmg, and if you use the stone fists, you can make a barrier that will stand for a long time, and when needed, send it flying at them! he is awesome! may switch for shroom boom when i get. |

And if by going by that: Melee: / Brawler. He can deal insane damage with his uppercut and if they get too close they get hurt. Very well rounded character in my opinion. Ranged Low Damage: / Commander Crab. He is very underrated and deserves more recognition, this path is a beast. Ranged High Damage: / Ice Lancer. She can shoot fast whilst not slowing down. Hit-Run: / Typhoon Titan. He runs in uses his area shock field runs. Speedster: / Forest Ninja. The attacks own on the scarecrow and give me time to escape. Lobber: / Mad Scientist. Lob, Lob, LOB!!! Mid-Range: / Granite Dragon. Barrier Maker: / Earthen Avenger.

I'll post my thoughts and stories on the characters I chose for my team: (long post incoming!)
Magic: / Best of the Beast I have three Magic characters, and i'll be getting no more at this rate as I hate Wrecking Ball, Double Trouble and Ninjini. My usual Magic element of choice is Spyro. I feel an attachment to him as he was one of the first characters I used, being from the SA starter pack and all, and because of my general love for the Spyro game franchise. I enjoy using him in-game and I've managed to have fun with him in Battle Mode because I adopt an aggressive attack style where I pursue the enemy relentlessly. I got Voodood last christmas and I love him, just not as much as Spyro. I'm in a phase of liking Pop Fizz, though I generally don't like him as much as I wanted to. I love his design, and I love the idea of alchemists thematicaly speaking, but I've realised I don't like the complexity of Pop Fizz's game mechanics, finding it fiddly to juggle all the different potion varieties and the beast form all at the same time. He's a character with a lot of features crammed in to him, which must be great for other people i'm sure, just not something I personally like in a Skylander. I will probably be going back to Spyro at some point as my main Magic 'lander. Tech: / Demolition Troll I quite like all the Tech element Skylanders except perhaps Bouncer, but I plan to get no more than the two I already have. I love Trigger Happy enormously, and thought he was a great addition to the original starter pack, but from a gameplay standpoint I can never get over his fragility. I've tried both of his paths and enjoy the gratifying power of Golden Money Bags, but otherwise I generally don't use Trigger Happy much, and completely avoid him in PvP. I use Boomer as my go-to tech Skylander because of his hidden layer of finesse: I've found his ability to delay the explosion of his dynamite a really fun mechanic to toy with that can lead to great eureka moments in PvP where I roll the dynamite all around the battlefield and hit my opponent at frightful distances. His Soul Gem bomb-kicking can be useful as well, though I still need to practice with it. Boomer may do dissapointing damage and have some fragility, but i'm hoping he'll be buffed somewhat in future Skylanders games. Water: / Water Weaver I'll soon get my third Water Skylander, but my water element of choice will always be Gill Grunt. I was drawn immediately to his design the moment I held his toy. I'm a person who likes colours, and I love the shades of blue that fly about as Gill Grunt sprays water accross the battlefield. I've had fun with Zap, especially since I reset him to Tesla Dragon, but he has never topped the character who I regard as the one true water element. I doubt Wham Shell will make any difference too, though he does look fun. (I plan to level him down Commander Crab, because I like the idea of the homing starfish attack.) Fire: / Soul of the Flame When Skylanders was first being advertised before the original game released, Ignitor was the first Skylander that I felt drawn to just because of his design. Recently however i've been tiring of him a little. I find the overpowered-ness of Soul of the Flame boring. (I've yet to try Blademaster.) I'm hoping S2 Flameslinger might re-invigorate my interest in the Fire element as i'm not bothered with most of its other members: I used to have an Eruptor, in fact one of the first non-starter pack Skylanders I owned, but found his gameplay boring and hated his design. He just never looked right standing amongst my other Skylanders. I also went through a phase of wanting Sunburn, but that wore off for some reason. Earth: / Crystaleer I like all of the Earth element, but won't get any more after getting Terrafin, except possibly a Granite Crusher. Prism Break was the first non-starter-pack Skylander I bought, but I had to reset his path to Crystaleer before I realised the attachment I felt to him. I don't use him that often and don't have much of a hang of his controls, but always have a blast with him anyway when he is used. Getting Dino-Rang was a fun idea I hadn't been considering before, though he didn't change my opinions on Prism Break. Air: / Eye of the Storm The Air element's alright, but the only one I could ever be bothered to own is Warnado. I once had Sonic Boom and I really wanted to like her, but found her minion-spawning mechanic to be clunky and boring despite it's uniqueness. The youth club I go to (to which I donated my old Sonic Boom by the way) has a Lightning Rod which I have fun with, though I wouldn't want to own one myself. Life: / Forest Ninja I never found the life element all that interesting, so Stealth Elf was the only character I ever had plans to get. I once had a desire to get Camo, but that wore off for some reason. Stealth Elf is a great little character to use. I had alot of fun levelling her as a swashbuckling-pirate-themed Pook Blade Saint who wore a pirate hat. I eventually reset her though, as whenever she was used at my youth club she would always win PvP battles because of how overpowered Pook Blade Saint was in SA. To my surprise, I found Forest Ninja to be even more fun anyway! My usual PvP partners at my youth club are never able to tell when her decoy is being used, so I can always catch them out with it! Undead: / Nether Wielder For me, Cynder is the only undead element. The others look horrible save for Chop Chop, who i'm having reconsiderations for now he's been buffed in 'Giants. I'd felt drawn to get Cynder, being quite a fan of the Legend of Spyro series. I couldn't be bothered to wait for her to release in the UK, so I payed £25ish on Ebay to have her shipped to me from someone in the USA. I then got Ignitor and Dino-Rang and played a new savegame of SA using these three characters, and had a blast! Giant: / Treefolk Charger Tree Rex is the only Giant I can be bothered to own. The Giants are a cool idea, but Tree Rex is the only design that I actually like. I had him down the Lumbering Laserer path for a while which was fun to use, but I couldn't convince myself to settle with the armour he wears from the Pod Maker upgrade. I reset him to Treefolk Charger just recently, and I'm having a lot of fun with it so far.

Hi! Welcome to ! Dont insult the admin, if you know what i mean.
Anyways, here is my updated list: Melee: Blizzard brawler. This dude is even more dmging than voodood, and a little more fun. Dat sweet ice hammer really deals the pain and the sleigh is nice too. Ranged, low dmg: golden frenzy. The bouncing bullets are a nice addition. If the opponent gives you time, charge up the yamato blast for some heavy dmg. Ranged high dmg: nut crafter. The nuts do crazy dmg, bounce off walls, and can jump on bounce pads. No wonder this guy is awesome. Ph, and he is s2, of course. Hit/run: s2 megadozer. With this guy, its all defense. You lovk on the autonlaster and run away. Your opponent might as well throw down theor conteoller and leave once this dude gets his blaster on you. He can also ram into you for x-tra pain. Speedster: pook blade saint. She is great, but all you do is mash A and you win. Can you think of a more fun character? The flips are fun, too. Mid range: channeler. Dis dude rocks. 'Nuff said. On mushroom hrove, you might as well forfiet to avoid getting humiliated. Best. Skylander. Ever! Lobber: volcanor. Same as last time. I still dont have pop fizz. Barrier maker: floral defender. This character is strong, fun, and awesome. He is my only gold top hat skylander i have as of now. He rules as best life type. The cacti block the nuts, he destroys stealth elf, and camo and tree rex are weak against this powerhouse. Go zook! |

Hi, I just categorize my list as one of each element, one Giant, and one lightcore.
Air: / Typhoon Titan: He is a very effective character, in terms of strength, and his lightning bolts do a lot of damage, and I am on Typhoon Titan, which makes him even better! Life: /Floral Defender: I can't have my team with out him! His cacti walls do damage, block attack, and can easily defeat characters like stealth elf. Oh, do I hope to get the Series 2! Undead: /Arkeyan Swordsman: I can't think of very many good Undead characters of the top of my head, but he is by far the best. Earth: /Brawler: Terrafin is an effective hit and run character. When you hit and are about to get damaged, just go underground. Fire: /Blademaster: He is a great meleeist, just as you get the enemies defeated quickly, which you can. Water: /Captain Crustacean: What can I say, he is the best character in water in my opinion. Magic: / Mad Scientist: I know, I haven't chosen a new guy, but all the old ones are much better, except this one. He can lob his potions like crazy, And the do a decent amount of damage, you can even mix them up. And when enemies get to close, SHAKE-IT! Tech: /Master Blaster: It used to be Trigger Happy, but now I know that Drobot is much more effective. Giant: /Oil Baron: I love this guy, with his Hot Rod and his Fiery Rain and Meteor! Lightcore: /Crystaleer: He is the only Lightcore I have now, but I'll switch when Lightcore Pop-Fizzy releases. |

My NEW team:
Magic : After all it is HIS game and I played one of his games once when I was little (can't remember which one it was though, I think it was Legend of Spyro). He is also really fun to play on Blitz Spyro, I love charging through everything with fiery Ibex horns (Animal fact: An Ibex is a large mountain goat that lives in the high mountains of North Africa, Ethiopia, and parts of Europe and Asia ). I really can't wait to get his repose. Water: : I like all of the water guys, but my reason of picking him is because he's a FISH, I love fish! His gameplay also reminds me of Super Mario Sunshine (his water gun and jet pack) and I used to play that game a lot on the Gamecube. I find him one of the underrated guys, I can see why everyone hates him so much though. Now if only his voice wasn't so awful and his armor wasn't so low. was cool too, but he was too weak for me and I avoid using him in PvP. I'm gonna rest and stop buying the toys for a while, but if I get another S2 guy, Gill Grunt is gonna be next. Tech: : Most of the Tech Skylanders I tried are really lame, Drill Sergeant was the one who really impressed me. I liked Sprocket and Bouncer ( a little), but Drill Sarge is just amazing. Drobot is too overpowered and boring, Trigger Happy is just average, and Boomer I never played. He takes strategy to use and can be quite fun on the Battledozer path (Really useless path though), and he was one of the guys who got me hooked onto the series in the first place, I placed him on the portal at stores a lot cuz he looked awesome. Life: : At first, I was VERY skeptical about him and didn't like the way he looked, I really felt he wasn't worth it (plus he looked too much like Eruptor in terms of gameplay, and I already had him). It took me 2 months to give him a chance and after seeing his gameplay, I started to have 2nd thoughts and got quite interested. He is SOO Much fun to play as and is very hard to beat in PvP, my #1 favorite of all of them now. I didn't really like Nut Crafter, but Smash N Bash was the real deal, amazing! I now prefer Nut Crafter because the Wow Pow improves it a lot and makes him seriously broken while still enjoyable, to sum it up: Nut Crafter sucks without the Wow Pow. I must play him at least twice a day, he is a MUST buy in my book. Undead: : At first, Ghost Roaster and Cynder were my favorite Undead guys and they were all amazing (except for Hex, I don't really like her much, but when I first saw Fright Rider I wasn't really looking forward to him at first, wondering what he and his dead bird could actually do. But when I saw his trailer and looked more into him, I was VERY excited for him. He had a great concept (a Jockey, I LOVE Horses and I'd love to be a Jockey)and I eventually got him as a late B-Day present from my Little cousin. He is very fun to play on Joust Jockey and is difficult to defeat in PvP, Sir Lance A Lot was good too, but not as awesome. I must play him at least once a day. Air: : Most of the Air Skylanders are really bad, especially Sonic Boom my all-time least favorite (I Absolutely hate her). Whirlwind is bizarre to play, Sonic Boom ****ing sucks, and Lightning Rod (never played though, but I wonder if he might be worth it) just seems average classed. Warnado was a lot of fun, but I don't use him very much anymore because I find him VERY weak now.Jet Vac was the newlander I was most looking forward too (though not my favorite, Fright Rider is), and Eagle with a vacuum! It's exciting to blast things and suck things up with the gun, and I also like his Jet Pack. Fire: : My first Fire Skylander and one of my starters, I love how he's a Lava Monster. He's awesome on the Magmantor path (Volcanor was a bit boring to me) and I enjoy playing him a lot, a highly recommended figure from me. Ignitor is too overpowered (still fun though), Sunburn is annoying, and Flameslinger is just so lame. Eruptor is up my alley. Earth: or : I really can't tell. Earth is one of my favorite elements and they're all amazing (except for and ).
