Please tell me I need to know because I cant get the game or any figures until Christmas and I really want granite crusher.

I don't believe it's a timed exclusive, but as far as we knew back in SSA- Drill Sarge and Whirly were going to remain exclusives. If Target DOES lose the exclusivity, I'd say you wont see it in other stores until after the 1st of the year.

I saw 3 of them at my second closest Target. I couldn't get any of them though since I STILL don't have my POP!

This is not true. It was confirmed through several sources and posted on the forums that the Target/Walmart exclusive figures were only through the end of 2011.

Welp, haven't heard anything about Granite Crusher leaving Target so I guess it'll probably stay.

Whirlwind and Drill Seargent weren't variants though. All the variants have remained store exclusive like WERDS and the Legendaries so I highly doubt this will be available at any other store.

I think it is like Whirlwind. Maybe she wasnt a variant. But there are a lot more variants this time around. It would be a little of a prick move on their part if they intended to never sell these any other way. Especially when demand is high for characters like granite crusher. Don't just assume that they are going to do everything they did last year.

Or, at the very least, I bet Target will have Granite Crusher for awhile. You have time, don't worry.

Trust me, Activision is all about making the money, so if they discontinue one figure, they lose money.

Well originally I (As well as others I'm sure) thought we were gonna have to FLOCK to Target at 8am on Day 1 to even get one ourselves. Turns out he's still being sold. I found one on day 2. So, I mean I don't see why you'd have reason to worry. And if they do discontinue him then I'm sure you'd still be able to find one. (Heck I have 2 and don't plan to keep both....) So I'm sure someone would help you get one.

Note: I got two by fluke since I wasn't aware I'd be lucky on day 2. I bought one on ebay on day 1. *Sigh* Shoulda known better lol.

the GITD characters arent really a variant though, they're just special characters. the legendaries have always been TRU exclusive. If Target really had their own exclusive crusher, and no one ever carried it afterwards, it would be Targets first exclusive character that was only sold at Target.

granite crusher will remain a target exclusive due to the packaging actually having "target exclusive" printed on it. Its kinda like the legendaries and gitd portal, there are no intentions of it being sold elswhere

They not really variants. Variants are something that have no effect on gameplay when being put on the Portal of Power, The Legendarys have higher stats. The only thing being a real variant is the glow in the dark figures.

I think anything with "Special" or anything reskinned in game is a variant. LOGIC!

From years of collecting, and doing much of it at Target, they seem to be much more conservative than retailers like Toys R Us. They don't EVER have a surplus of stock of exclusives.

Granite Crusher is a simple repaint (rather than a "timed exclusive") and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that quantities are very limited. Whether it's Skylanders - or even something more in demand like a Hasbro Star Wars exclusive - Target simply doesn't like to go out on a limb with these kinds of things. They'll generally order enough for an initial shipment and then be done with it.

My personal thought is that each store will be replenished at most 2-3 times before Christmas (and even that will be pretty limited). We may get one more big batch to restock the first wave, one more shipment before Christmas of whatever stock is left over, and then that may be it. Target will not go back to Activision and order more - that just isn't how they operate with exclusives. Once their initial order is sold out, they'll be done.

The moral of the story is, if you want it, you'd better grab it when you see it.

I finally found one in my area. He's a tough one to find, not to mention all the store employees that scoop them up to sell on ebay.

If you're still looking for Granite Crusher, don't waste your time and just order it online.

ya i think the best bet would be online ordering it. We had a lot originally, but now we are out and it doesnt look like we are restocking him

I truly agree with what you said about the Target Exclusive. TRU will restock their so called exclusives as long as they keep selling while Target on the other hand is not a toy company and I've never seen them release exclusives just to satisfy demand. I am actually interested in buying a couple of the Target Exclusive Crusher because he is probably one of the few figures that we won't see after Christmas. Taking into account how hard to find him locally is a good indicator how limited the supply is.

I remember the Whirlwind figure last Christmas. The price of her went sky high and only dropped because of the news that she was being released as part of a 3 pack. The Granite Crusher is a true exclusive so I don't we'll see him again after Christmas. I'm also wondering about the GITD Cynder for Walmart. I just don't think all Walmart Starter packs will show up with the GITD figure. I'm definitely getting the $40 deal for Black friday for the 3DS version. I think that is the best starter pack in terms of figures.

Has anyone seen a starter pack at Walmart that did not have the GITD Cynder? I have not.

I would agree with that whole-heartedly. I don't think we'll see any replenishments of the WM GITD pack after the initial order runs its course (even though I imagine that initial order was very large – unlike Granite Crusher at Target). The true collectable may be the GITD portal and not Cynder however.

As for Granite Crusher, none of the Targets down here have ever replenished. They haven't removed their signage though, so hopefully they'll each get at least one more shipment. For what it's worth, I asked a store employee who said they were a day one release and thta tey wouldn't be getting any more. Take that for what it's worth though. I've never seen a store employee know more than anyone else on these types of exclusives.

I have, our local walmarts had some without the GITD cynder in it. But not a whole lot. As a matter of fact I had to specifically tell my husband to grab the GITD one for me so he wouldn't grab the regular since I got regular non glowy cynder with my 3DS pack.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of that GITD pack OR Granite Crusher after christmas. I haven't seen any G- Crushers since I grabbed the last one on day 2.

The Granite Crusher end cap came down for the Black Ops Game Event in at least one target near me, though not the signs in the Skylanders aisle.
