i dont have a particularly fantastic way to store my skylanders ill admit. but the figures are pretty robust, ive always kept them in this tool box and their fine. however now i have two glow in the darks, cynder and fright rider.

fright rider is fine, it doesnt feel like a paint job, its like they just used glow in the dark plastic instead.
now cynder, feels like a really rough coat of paint they threw on last minute to make the starter pack variants. Now i have disliked this since i bought her but not been too bothered, until now.

i put her in the tool box among all the others, and i presume its when the figure rubs against others, their paint moves over onto her, so now she has patches of blue, red and grey dotted around. the other figures all seem alright, not missing paint, but she seems to easily pick up colors off of the others.

so i guess take this as a warning, be careful with your glowing cynder if you want her looking in good condition. im not overly bothered to want another figure, but i am a bit disappointed how cheaply this feels made for something i went out of my way to pre-order.
also as she feels like sandpaper i am concerned she is rubbing paint off the others just i havent seen it yet.

No. It just says it's 'special'

no, she still appears purple in game like regular cynder. however when you put her on the portal her name comes up as 'special cynder' rather than 'series 2 cynder', variants are recognized in this game, but no color difference which is a shame.

I figured this Cynder would not fare well just by looking at various ones in the package, but good to know the other glow in the dark figures for Giants so far did not go this route.

Has anyone tried putting a Series 2 Cynder and a Special Cynder on one save file? I don't know if they both count or not.

Yes, they do both count. MY GITD Cynder has not arrived yet but given that GITD Fright Rider and the normal one both count, and others have stated that they both count, the answer is yes.

I don't know if it is just my perception or if the Euro ones were done better but my GITD Cynder arrived today and looks fine? That said, I will take care not to rub it against others.

I can also confirm that it came up as Special Cynder, just for WickedRogue's edification.

^ Is she more like the Glow Fright and Rider or the Undead Element bases? Generally, the latter tends to be less bright.

She's more like GITD Fright Rider and the Series 1 GITDs than the Undead base.

I've had her pull a tiny bit of paint off of S2 Terrafin's chin which is now on her... it's nothing noticeable on Terrafin (or her for that matter, but she is one solid, light color) I'm sure if I wasn't so OCD i wouldn't have even noticed it, but I thought it was weird too!! I'll have to make sure to keep her in a baggie when stored in the box... since GITD Cynder does not play well with others!!

Plastic baggie equates to good idea!

I hate GITD Cynders paint job too, mine has not scratched on paint from other toys, but it just feels so bad to hold, I'm afraid i'll scratch the GITD paint off....

Seeing all the complaints for this GITD Cynder makes me wanna rethink getting the starter pack with her in it. LOL

Me too! What to do, what to do?! But the portal is cooler in the GITD starter right?

I bought the original starter from my own country but pre-ordered the GITD one from another. Now that the GITD one has arrived, I will now re-sell the original starter pack to recoup most of my initial investment.

i've seen 4 gitd cynders now and the paint finish sucks ... but it does show more detail on the figure than the other gitd figures

Its pretty terrible. My 3ds starter has never been opened and it looks like theres dirt on mine

I am getting mine sunday. Waited 2 extra weeks just for this GITD.
