Couldn't you just encourage them to share them? I think it's kind of missing the point of Skylanders as a family game if each member of the family gets one of each character. The arguing over who gets to play as which character has always been a big part of multiplayer gaming.

Yeah, and that would have saved money. However, when we do tournaments, everyone brings their own full Skylanders collection. So, if my daughter and son were to have a tournament, they have their own collections to pick from in order to try 1-up each other.

I understand buying multiple figures... But why 20 Starter Packs?

In North America, wave 2 is out. I was able to get the remaining Hot Heads I needed, plus the two new triple packs. I am taking some new pics soonish, as I need to go to Best Buy and get TWO copies of the guide. Yes, two. See, Best Buy has an exclusive guide as well. It has a double-sided poster in it. One side features all characters from 4 elements, while the other side has the other 4. I want both sides, so it looks like I am getting 2 guides.

Right. I just looked that up. My Target has them.. Ugh. Why did they release them so early? Wave 1 only just came out..

Is there a picture anywhere of what the two sides of the poster look like? I've looked online and can't find any images. I didn't realize BB had an exclusive so I bought my guide on Amazon.

YEP! I just updated the first post, with new pics. You can see I added a few new pics, two of which show off both sides of the poster.

so the posters only show earth air fire and life? or am i just not seeing the other four element posters in your pics?

Some pictures seem to be replaced by ones that shouldn't be there- Mistake maybe?

GITD Set picture is replaced by the Giants Display Picture

And the Blue Bash and Ruby Drill Sergeant are replaced by one of the Wave 2 Pictures

Everything seems to be in order on my side.

I did, however, take an updated close-up pic of the character cards, to reflect the Hot Head, as well as Granite Crusher and Punch Pop Fizz additions.

EDIT: Hazard, it's a double-sided poster, but I bought 2 guides to have both sides displayed. The Undead, Tech, Magic, and Water side is hanging above my window. You can see it in the full picture of my Giants wall.

1) I remember reading a while back that you stated you were losing the cave and going to start storing your collection in boxes. Did I hallucinate that or did something change?

2) What is your stance on the single Dark Spryo now that US distribution cards have appeared in several forms?

3) What is your stance on GITD Fright Rider considering its only been seen on the UK card?

4) How many Gnarly Tree Rexes do you ideally hope to obtain and do you have a plan to get both the Wii and PS3 versions for display?

1: I was going to lose this man cave, but I will most likely have a movie sold before the end of the year. If so, I can buy a bigger house, so each of my kids have a room, and I can still have a man cave.

Is the Portal any different to the standard release?

Yeah, the GITD portals are almost seethrough. Take one out in the sun for about 5 minutes, then go inside and into a dark room, and the entire portal - even the top - glows.

Yeah the series 1 and The Amazon Exclusive Series 2 ones, I'm wondering why out of all of the Available Skylanders why he was chosen to be made twice into gold Varieties?

Who knows, Ramster. In my opinion, they should have elected to get one of the official variants, like Molten Hot Dog or Scarlet Ninjini. Who knows, maybe they will. However, if they chose some bootleg variant over having an official figure, I don't know what they were thinking.

Well, I'm sad to say this, but I am getting rid of something in my collection. I got to thinking long and hard about the treasure hunt variants, and I may get rid of them. Thing is, my collection doesn't look any less cool without them, seeing as my collection is still worth more than most collections out there. Even then, it's not a contest in my eyes.

It would be a huge hassle to get the rock variants, plus any convention exclusives that will surely be coming, would just add to the frustration of getting these. My walls still look cool without them, and I would still be going after store exclusive variants for Giants, seeing as they actually show up ingame.

So, yeah, time to throw them up and get rid of them. If my house were to burn down, I don't have the type of insurance that covers the cost of those. I would literally get paid 10 dollars for each. Not worth it in my eyes. I could have some paid off bills of even go on a small vacation with that money.

You don't see the silvers or golds much anymore, so now is the perfect time to get rid of them and never look at variants - minus the variants that show up ingame - again.

On another note, I am designing a new shelf for my Giants collection. So it doesn't take up a whole wall, I had to make it where the Giants will be displayed on the top shelf of the new shelf, with 6 inches of clearance, because I see Ninjini being the tallest. This way, I don't have to make each shelf with 6 inches of clearance - just incase - which would lead to the new shelf taking up almost an entire part of a wall.

Stay tuned for any updated pictures, after I sell my variants or when I get wave 3 in.

So I saw your collection on sale gamemaster...don't you think it will be worth a lot more money in the future?why not keep it for your children?

It's sort of odd, really.

I am selling them, because despite being worth money, I don't think they are. I also say this as someone who has bought 3 of everything, including the Wii Skylanders Bundle tomorrow.

Thing is, all of those were gotten at cost and would be covered for their cost if something happens to them. If something happens to these ones, they are covered for 9.99 each. I figure they will be in better hands with someone who can find someone willing to offers insurance for collector's items.

Plus, they way overdoing the amount of variants. If they had one per wave, per game, that might be different. Heck, not even Marvel Universe has that many variants.

Plus, people locally, who have seen my collection, state that some of them are downright ugly and kind of ruins the look of my collection. I've always thought the silvers, golds, and glows looked ugly. I like vibrant colors, but that's not the only reason when it all comes down to it. I just think I'd rather focus on the actual collection, rather than everything else.

I mean, if you notice, I even took down my preorder card from the first game.

IF I get rid of these, then I can make the wall look better in my eyes. People have already stressed my collection won't look bad if they're missing. That got me thinking, I still have a massive collection for this franchise, seeing as I'm probably the only one in the world who owns 8 copies of the first game, 11 copies of the second game, bought 3 Wii's for a 15 dollar Giant, and 3 of everything else.

However, in the event they don't sell, I will simply keep them up on the wall, and if I lose them, I lose them. People thought I was too obsessed with Skylanders, I couldn't let anything go. Placing that auction up, proves me right and them wrong, that I control Skylanders, it doesn't control me *twitches*

Do variants count as sidekicks cuz i want trigger snappy how much but i am not paying 100 pounds for a little thing that only follows you around

You know, I would wait till Christmas to sell the variants, because they will sell for a lot more then. In fact, I think the reason we aren't seeing more scalped/variant listings up now is because of that, everyone knows around that time that the figures are gonna start getting paid a lot more for again.
