I have recently noticed that on the 'Top Games' section of 'darkspyro', that The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is the highest rated Spyro game ever, being just .2 points ahead of Spyro: Year of the Dragon have a 90.8 rating. Now don't get me wrong, I do like this game alot but why is it considered the best? I thought (nearly) everyone on this website didn't even like DoTD, and prefers TEN much more. So why is DoTD rated highest? What do you think?

Fans who adore DotD rate it the best Spyro game ever. In my opinion, the game is highly overrated.

But yeah. It DEFINETLY isn't the best Spyro game. Far from it. In fact, if you ask me, it's the worst of his console releases. And that includes, if you count it, Skylanders.

I didn't know that this is game it's a bit "overrated" lol. Anyway, I like DotD just like the other ones but for me GtG/RR it's the best, just my opinion...

But, getting back onto the actual topic itself, I for one would not call Dawn of the Dragon one of the best Spyro games. I did enjoy it to an extent, but it failed to have a lasting appeal for me and I've hardly even touched it since I completed it almost two years ago.

Well I only like four Spyro games in the series, so I thought to myself that I may aswell add in the last one.

Far from the best Spyro game ever, in fact it's probably my second least favorite. I also must mention how disappointed I was at the "free flight".
Not too bad of a game though, I'd still play it.

I don't think I ever want to play this piece of rubbish ever again now.

I think that the TLoS series by far the best, it had a much deeper plot. I still love the originals, i don't think anyone couldn't like them. Going back to TLoS, it's gameplay was good, it's characters were developed quite thoroughly and it was need game considering that all the previous games were pretty much the same thing. I for one am just happy that skylanders is no where near the top.

To be honest, Spyro - Year of the Dragon would have to be one of the best in my opinion. I did like DoTD, but it was very rushed and more could of been done to it to make it better.

I'm currently borrowing Spyro 2 and Spyro 3. I've played them tonnes more before though. Nearly completed them both.

I think YOTD is the best of the Spyro games. DOTD, though fun to play, I feel lacks the plot and character strength of the other two games in the LOS series - TEN is the best of the three, I think.

DotD isn't overrated. The vast majority of the gaming world, myself included, was indifferent toward it: not awful, but not good by any stretch of the imagination. The only reason it's rated so high is because of the massive amount of LoS fans this site had attracted at the time who refused to believe the game was anything but "amazing." >____>

It's a good game for SpyroXCynder fans - that is, if you like your ships to sail themselves.

So why have the majority rated DOTD as number one then? And in my personal opinion, I think that TEN is the worst of the three.
