I got the game today and I'm very impressed.

1. Some of the cut scenes are epic!

2. The characters aren't as annoying

3. The graphics seem Crisper. Maybe it's just me. *Shrug*

4. Longer levels.

5. More modes like arena nightmare mode.

6. It's a lot more polished.

7. Most of the new figures are amazing! Toys for Bob have done a great job with the character design. It's also (somewhat) fully voice acted. A nice small touch.

8. It is growing up slightly. Plus I'm actually laughing sometimes.

So what are your thoughts? I'm enjoying the heck out of this game.

Play Team Fortress 2 and then you can talk about lots of hats
Anyways,I love the game, memorable moments, new NPC's,a shop so that fully upgraded Skylander's cash won't go to waste, longer levels and much, much better bosses (Chompie Mage)
The only thing I don't like is how Ermit replaces Hugo smilie

I won't be playing the console version for sometime but I can tell you that the 3DS version is SO MUCH better than Spyro's Adventure 3DS. The level design is much more massive, the soundtrack is better, and the best of all: No freaking Hektore challenge.

The console version
Where do I begin... Everything about this game is better. I'd go so far as to say the only thing that isn't better in the sequel is the Adventure Worlds, because those are, as we all know, the same. The cutscenes are better, the story is better, the dialog is better, the NPCs are better, the new Skylanders are better, the levels are better, the sense of exploration is better, the challenge is better... I don't want to stop saying how much is better in this version of the game, but if I don't, first of all, I'll go over the post limit, and second of all, peeve off a lot of you. Unlike the first game, this has serious viability as a single player experience, too. You don't need to scrape the bottom of the barrel for replay value.

The 3DS version
The 3DS version chose to focus on some extremely bland, badly designed, boring platforming. As a result, the action side of the game suffered. And in turn, the whole thing just becomes boring because there really isn't anything to make up for it. The NPCs and cutscenes are sickening, the levels drag on instead of being fun to explore and are pretty generic, and the whole thing is overly easy with low health enemies and generously predictable platforming. It doesn't help the whole thing lacks any level of polish which, in my opinion, is one of the flagship things about Skylanders, an immensly enjoyable attention to detail.

Basically, I think the console version is over 9000 times better than the original, while the 3DS version is the opposite. I never expected the 3DS version to actually be good this time since n-Space were developing it, so I can't say I'm disappointed, though. But I'm loving the Wii game as both a sequel and a title on its own!

They REALLY improved. The first game had a repetitive story: You go through a level or two, you get an eternal source, you fight a boss that is the same EVERY time.
This has a unique story, the dialogue isn't repetitive, it gives the option to be much more compelling and difficult, and I could go on.
The only time where you really need to keep switching to a Giant to continue in the level is the first level, making it a lot less tedious than I thought it would be. The quests add extra incentive to use certain characters, and the Arena battles are INCREDIBLY entertaining. Worth the money.

I figured out Quigley's method of play and can now beat him every time. Trouble is that after the first time you beat him (and he gives you one of his stones), he gives you third or fourth rate stones on his subsequent game losses. Enfuego Chompie, seriously Quigley? Very disappointing. I was hoping to get more of those stones that he is using...

You must have 4 points on one side of a stone to win because he always goes first so you have to take one of his stones...

As much as I appreciate the thought that went into the new one, yeah, the enemies are seriously lacking, I'm at the end of the sand world and I still one or two hit KO all of them(using a Level 5 Jet-Vac). One of the things I loved about the first game was how challenging it got in the last worlds, but this one just seems much too easy all round and it doesn't seem to be getting any harder or more interesting. In fact, the only thing that seems hard is leveling up, due to the lack of enemies to beat and get experience from.

Well, most of the game is brilliant - an improvement on the first game. There are some things I wasn't really... Well, satisfied with;

The final boss was kind of disappointing and very, very easy... I think it would have been better if Ermit and the machine ghost didn't show up... At all.

Another thing was the constant reference to the Dread Yatch being 'cursed'... But (as far as I can tell) there was no actual explanation of this... I was kind of hoping it would have some importance in the end of the game.

Also, I want that Spyro hat the Molekin are wearing! Not a complaint, just an observation.

Nope, not even in a cutscene like last time. They didn't have any normal Skylanders in any of the cutscenes, only the Giants near the beginning

I like that the levels are longer, the characters have more personality because they actually comment on the hat you put on them, or about certain things they find, and do. The graphics are a huge step up from the last game, very crisp and smooth, the cut scenes are funny, i find myself laughing out loud. skytones was a nice added touch, as well as the stores for buying extra items. I love my new portal, its a bit distracting when it changes color, but it looks way better. I like how stuff is a bit harder to find.

I dislike that there are less chapters than the first game. I dislike that the characters have to say their lines everytime you switch them out. I find the acheivements a bit too easy. and i dislike that you do all your traveling on flyns ship. I found it fun to have an "area" that you could swim and run around a bit more. Oh, hard diffaculty is not challenging enough. I hardly see a difference. I guess i'll have to see what nightmare is like...

over all its a good game, they did pretty good for it being a sequel.

Oh, somehow I expected this. Well, maybe that's because of the angry fanbase of the last year. Maybe they said: "So, you didn't like how we introduced Spyro? Good, you won't see him in the next game".

But I will give a chance to this game when I have time and money. For now, I'm looking forward to Epic Mickey 2.
