Well, considering we have virtually know idea what any of the new characters can do outside of a few videos, it's hard to say what paths would be best for them.

I hope with Alchemist they have some sort of cool variations on his potions. We know he lobs them, and one allows him to transform. So, maybe a bigger transformation, and a more powerful lob?

Why not make a topic before the game comes out? You didn't just ask that did you?... Ok, let's put it into perspective;

For a topic to be on the first page of the forum (or, somewhere it will be noticed) it will have to be frequently posted in. This means you'll have to keep making unnecessary posts on this topic to keep it alive. If people did use this as the main topic for upgrade paths, then they would have to look through various pages and posts until they reach the point where the game is actually out.

Now, don't get me wrong, the topic could be stuck when the game comes out - but if that happened how is it any different than someone creating a new topic when the game comes out instead?

Pointless topic is pointless.

These are my picks so far. Keep in mind I haven't tried their other paths.

Pop Fizz: Best of the Beast!
I'm fairly happy with this choice because it really helps Beast Form last and makes it ridiculously powerful yet satisfying. The final upgrade abilities are also pretty neat even though I only use the fire side of it. The time shifting into Beast Mode, though, is still a big problem on this path... It's not interruptable but does make you totally vulnerable. But I expect it's more fun than Mad Scientist in the end and it's very balanced as well.

Chill: Ice block path
There wasn't really much contest choosing between hers for me since the javelin path basically makes her attacks split and have extra damage when they're fine as it is. The ice block path is very satisfyingly tricky to use... A bit reminiscent of the experience with Flameslinger. Chill gets a very unique moveset down this path that pretty much nobody else can match, and it's also very fun and meaningful. And I can imagine in the right hands it could be used seriously well in either mode.

Fright Rider: Jouster Jockey
I chose this path since it seemed more fun. Sir Lance A Lot is without a doubt the superior path for those who want pure power, though. I'm quite satisfied with it since it has a good mix of risk and reward with Fright's somewhat middling HP and bad Armor and has excellent combos. The standard attack is also still helpful. The spin combo has good area attack and is useful if you need to hit something around you, while the slam combo is incredibly powerful boasting a hundred and twenty something in its hit and great against single opponents, yet not spammable.

I'm planning to pick Packeteer for Jet-Vac.
And hammer path for Crusher cause I WANT HAMMER DADDY.

How much damage does Jet vacs suction gun do on packeteer and on the blast path? I'm considering Packeteer although I will give bird blaster a chance since you can switch paths?

Here is my PVP path recommendations for all orange base Skylanders after testing out both Upgrade Paths on the 360.

Spyro - Blitz Spyro (even though Stun Charge gets taken away by the Wow Pow, the ability to hit opponents multiple times per Charge puts out more damage faster then the other path can)
Wrecking Ball - Ultimate Spinner (was always the better path, and the Wow Pow just makes it better)
Double Trouble - Channeler [same for Royal] (best Magic Skylander again, but the Wow Pow is useless)
Pop Fizz - Mad Scientist [same for LightCore and Punch] (spamming those Potions makes for a good offence and defense, while on the other path his Beast Form is just an average melee attacker with a timer)
Ninjini - Swords of Might [same for Scarlet] (the upgrades for the Wishblades are far more useful then the slow moving Bottle that doesn't even hold for long, and the delay for going into the Bottle is awful)

Drobot - Master Blaster [same for LightCore] (the Wow Pow's small loss in damage output is worth it for the upgraded Mega Blasters)
Trigger Happy - Golden Money Bags (barely useful Wow Pow on a barely useful Skylander)
Drill Sergeant - Megadozer (best Tech Skylander, awesome Wow Pow)
Sprocket - Operator (triple deploying Bouncing Betty Mines is what she does best, while the Tank is just to slow to do anything but take major damage)
Bouncer - I-Beam Supreme [same for Legendary] (out of all his attacks on either path, Shoulder Rockets are his least useful, when the I-Beam and Fingerguns will be used regularly)

Bash - Granite Dragon (was the better path by a smidge, but the Wow Pow just makes it better by a mile)
Terrafin - Sandhog (best Earth Skylander again, with a great Wow Pow that benefits his invaluable underground immunity)
Prism Break - Crystaleer [same for LightCore] (combine the Wow Pow with the Triple Crystal Shard drops for great damage output that covers a wide area)
Flashwing - Super Shards [same for Jade] (although barely, the defense she looses is worth it for the damage output she gains with her Shooting Shards, and Healing Crystals are somewhat decent)
Crusher - Rubble Master [same for Granite] (the Crusher Hammer is just to slow of an attack, unlike the fully upgraded Rockslide which makes him much more versatile)

Whirlwind - Tempest Dragon [same for Polar] (Tempest Clouds were always her main attack and the Wow Pow makes them even better)
Sonic Boom - Medea Griffin (damage output really adds up with all those Babies)
Lightning Rod - Typhoon Titan (this path use to have a major problem with range attacks, making it a bad choice, but now the Wow Pow fixes that very nicely)
Jet-Vac - Vac-Packeteer [same for LightCore and Legendary] (Super Suction Air Blaster and Piercing Winds are absolutely useless without multiple enemies)
Swarm - Barberous Avenger (best Air Skylander, shooting Barb Blades and Butt Stingers while in Flight is what he does best)

Ignitor - Soul of the Flame [same for Legendary] (best Fire Skylander again due to the awesome Flame Form, making the Wow Pow a nice perk)
Flameslinger - Pyromancer (the Wow Pow makes him the best keep-away Skylander, and really helps making the Supernova)
Eruptor - Volcanor [same for LightCore] (the Wow Pow finally gives this path a nice damaging medium-range attack)
Hot Dog - Burning Bow-Wow [same for Molten] (all the upgrades on this path are great, when the upgraded Wall of Fire just is not as helpful)
Hot Head - The Burninator (FlameFire Bursts and Oil Blobs are his main attack on either path, also the Meteor takes too long to get charged)

Zap - Tesla Dragon (this path used to be a bad choice, but not any more since the Sea Slime Slide has been seriously downgraded, and the Wow Pow is built for this path)
Gill Grunt - Water Weaver (the Wow Pow is kind of useless)
Slam Bam - Blizzard Brawler [same for Legendary] (the Wow Pow gave this great path just what it needed to be awesome)
Chill - Ice Lancer [same for LightCore and Legendary LightCore] (Triple Ice Javelin is a nice attack to spam, and being able to do it while moving at full speed makes this path great)
Thumpback - Anchor's A-Yay (best Water Skylander, Thumpback Combos have amazing damage output with a wide range)

Stealth Elf - Pook Blade Saint [same for Legendary] (the Wow Pow helps out the other path allot, but not this one at all, but still this path is better)
Stump Smash - Nut Crafter (best Life Skylander, that Wow Pow has insane damage output)
Zook - Floral Defender (awesome path, useless Wow Pow)
Shroomboom - Paramushroom Promotion [same for LightCore] (Paratroopers damage output adds up fast, when on the other path its hard to have any decent damage output at all)
Tree Rex - Lumbering Laserer [same for Gnarly] (spamming the Photosynthesis Cannon can pull off great damage from a safe distance, when his Sequoia Stampede damage output is lower and puts him in harms way)

Cynder - Nether Welder (the Wow Pow doesn't do much for her, but at least the game made her Ghosts amazing)
Chop Chop - Undead Defender (best Undead Skylander, the Wow Pow does extra damage on this path, making him go from the worst Skylander to one of the best)
Hex - Bone Crafter [same for LightCore] (that Wow Pow is the most powerful attack in the game)
Fright Rider - Joust Jockey (all the upgrades on this path are awesome for being so versatile, when on the other path he is going to be out-damaged often)
Eye-Brawl - Eye for an Eye (this path's damage output adds up fast, and is safer to play, when Eye-Brawl Combos are just average for melee attacks)

decided to post my list hear for anyone looking in the first few pages for path recommendations smilie

I just tried Vac-Packeteer on Jet-Vac.
It's pretty disappointing. The Corkscrew does a measly 30 damage if you get it to hit, and the jetpack's durability is still waaaaay too low to warrant picking this path. Infinite flight time would have fixed it a lot more, but as it is, the only worthwhile thing about this path is The Mulcher which brings the vacuum power up to 36 a hit, but on its own the vacuum is too risky an attack to use seriously anyway. A poor choice for Story and probably not a very good one for Battle either. Bird Blaster is probably much, much better.

Actually, I think I might reset him tomorrow after I play around with Shroomboom a bit. I'll let everyone know what I think. It's a shame the path I picked is so bad, because the corkscrew does look really badbutt and feels good to use... It's just hopeless as an attack.

The damage and usability. His flight feels very fake and is difficult to control, and the corkscrew's damage doesn't pay off enough for this.
