They won't. But, if you want a collection of all of the "official" Skylanders (and by that I mean characters that look unique in the game), you should buy them.

I'm sure I will buy these, but the problem I have is with Gnarly Tree Rex. I'm not buying a PS3 just to get one figure.

Maybe you need another "blu-ray player" that just happens to come with a Gnarly Tree Rex?

Gnarly Tree Rex is really a thorn in my side. Get it?

Anyway, I remember people complaining that the 3DS version were too expensive just to get one exclusive figure, but it seems to many are willing brush aside the real price tag of Gnarly Tree Rex. I'd rather drop $75 than whatever the Gnarly bundle will cost(I think I read it was $340). And did they ever say why Gnarly is only a PS3 item? Xbox and Wii seem to sell more units.

How to see the new sidekicks?

Does it have Gnarly Rex in the life section? If no then he won't be needed for 100% completion. If yes, then damn

Don't know what he or it looks like, but its a magical item, which means it could be a sidekick, battlepack item, or something like that.


For anybody freaking out about finding all 100% complete collection stuff. Tough luck. What it looks like is even the non-important variants like the GITD characters are being labeled as "Special" characters when they are loaded into the game, and show up seperately in the collections compared to their regular styles. At the same time, some of these characters may not be required for completing the highest accolade in the game. However, you will need to buy a lot regardless. I recommend anyone trying to buy them all do a reality check and make sure you really want to hunt these down for the next 6 months of your life and spend a fortune doing it. You can still have fun with the game, even if you don't buy any of the new characters.

Go into your Collection menu and find the Magic Items. The person who posted about saw the new sidekick's names. I logged onto Universe, and I saw it, too.
