Here is the first video, which is the opening of the 3DS game.

That is so cool! It is nothing like the console versions, though. It is weird that they seem to kind of "shove" you in to the story so quickly. By the way, I can't understand the name of the "bad guy" either. But it is definitely Captain ________. Maybe Captain Frightbeard... I can't wait to see more! More importantly, I can't wait for my 3ds pre-order to get here! This is going to be great! smilie

What do you collect (as in, the first game, you had to collect Radiance) and how do you level up (and what bonuses do you get from leveling up, the same)?

Gamemaster

Love the videos thanks so much for posting them. I absolutely loved the 3DS version of Spyro's Adv and this one looks even better. How is the gameplay? Only seen one video that Nintendo put out a few months ago and it looks like a cross between the first 3DS one and the console versions. Would love to see a little gameplay video if possible.. Looking forward to Sunday/Monday when I get to pick up my copy and play it. Checked with my Wal-Marts this morning and they told me they were trying to sell them and their system is now locked and they can't even do an override code. They tried and it still wouldn't let them. Thanks again for the awesome videos and I look forward to hearing some about the gameplay. Dude, you are awesome!

I will make a video of gameplay in a minute.

You collect coins instead of radiance. I don't think the coins have value other than to complete an objective. I will do a run of the first level and show everyone. Bear with me.

You unlock upgrades like you did on the first 3DS game, by leveling up.

You still find hats inside of present boxes and do smash chests for more treasure. You can get 3 stars from every level from meeting the objectives.

So far, this game is far better than the first game. The levels are bigger and it just feels less boring. It feels like it has a story going on, whereas the first game was just to rush through the levels.

I will be uploading the intro level soon. The first level of the Tiki Village was far bigger than the opening level of the game.

So this game is part 3DS, part Console then (with the stars and the objectives)
And it has no time limit right? 'Cause that annoyed me so much!

Yeah, no time limit this time.

It does feel more like the console games this time, but with a different story and levels. That is not a bad thing at all.

Did they add the ability to reset characters in the 3DS game? Also does Punch Pop Fizz show up as red in the game or is it just the normal look?

He shows up red in the 3DS game and the home console games. I didn't see an option to reset characters, but it could be in there. I will check and confirm after lunch.

I also forgot to mention something. I never tried them in the first 3DS game, but I always assumed the magical items didn't work in that game. Well, the magical items work in this game. You put whichever one you want on the portal and it will allow for use of said item ingame. You can activate the magical item anytime you want by pressing the R Button.

You could do that in the first game as well (except you had to use up like 15 radiance for it), never tried it though

My two big questions are

a) Can you reset character data on the 3DS game?
b) Is this game as fast paced as the previous game? Or did they add in a bunch of stupid block pushing to slow things down?

There has been no block pushing thus far.

It feels like the first game on 3DS, but with more open areas like the console games. I can't stress enough how much better the game is compared to the first game on 3DS. I can see myself beating this one, whereas I can't bring myself to finish the first 3DS game.

The levels are very long.

You sure about that? Can you list them, because I can't tell for sure if a LC counts.

I did register series 2 Chop Chop to the game and now there are two pics of him next to each other.

We know all 99 only if the 8 LC do count as it would seem that they would considering S1 and S2 are different characters and it has been confirmed that the main game treats LC's differently due to the once per level light bomb

Once again

The 37 from S:SA, the 8 Giants, the 8 LC's, the new 8, the 24 S2, Punch Pop Fizz, Gnarly Tree-Rex, Granite Crusher, Jae Flashwing, Scarlet Ninjini, Polar Whirlwind, Molten Hot Dog and Royal Double Trouble.

That gives us 99 in game variants for the 48 characters

I think it's wrong to ask people to collect 99 Skylanders, but one of those may be exclusive to the PAL regions (Gnarly Tree Rex).

I've been playing it and I'm on the third level so far...

Hate it. The gameplay is laggy, the new character sets feel uninspired, the graphics are worse, the level designs are very boring, the cutscenes are awful... No. Hate it. Wouldn't be so bad without the CONSTANT lag... But the game does constantly lag and the game seems very mediocre anyway. smilie

Mine runs fine. I've gone through the first world and the first level of the second and this game is beasting as a platformer.

The first game was just about running down narrow passages and jumping the same way over and over. It didn't encourage exploration in the slightest. This game, however, has some excellent platforming sections, while also encouraging exploration.

I have to keep myself from getting too far, because this copy is going to my kids come Sunday.

I didn't freak out when I talked to TFB about employees taking mass stock early. You're just blowing my actions out of proportions.

The fact that you bothered TFB with it in the first place is equitable to "freaking out". Notice none of the auctions got pulled down?

Quote:
Putting words and actions onto other people is just stupid. The site doesn't deserve ignorance. You're going to sit there and act as if I harassed someone to sell it to me?

Well....
Quote:
At checkout one person had a manager come and they have me the recall excuse and they took it. Then I went back and talked to a lady in electronics and told her how they're just sitting out and others were able to buy it at their Walmart.

Two different employees told you no, so you went to the other side of the store and guilt-tripped some lady into selling it to you. Now, she stands a chance of getting a coaching because she tried to help you. Just because she didn't know any better and you were obviously knowledgeable about the subject. You abused your knowledge to beat the system so you can get a game a few days early. Congrats.

Considering you mentioned more than once about how stores can get fined for selling the products early, let me assure you - if there is ever *any* talk of this individual store getting fined, you can sleep easy knowing that the lady who trusted you and was just trying to be helpful will be written up for putting her trust in you.

Okay, so I played more last night.

Again, I have to stress that the platforming in this game actually made me fall a few times, and that's hard for me to do seeing as I'm pretty good at platforming games.

This game, like I said, encourages exploration, as I was able to walk on multiple vines in one of the levels in the first world, and they would take me to places that had chests and hats. The game has much better variety in the types of gameplay it throws at you. What I mean by this, is that one moment you're walking around expansive areas, the next the view changes to a 2.5D view, or the next you're dealing with cool platforming elements, as platforms shift left and right, or up and down while others move north and south.

I am going to do a run of a level today, to show everyone how cool one of the levels are. It might be broken down into segments, but showing off one to two levels in this game should show everyone how fun this game can be in terms of platforming.

Oh, and I did run into Cali, so she is in the game as well. The story is much better. Infact, the first didn't have that great of a story at all. Oh, no. Hektor is terrorizing the Radiant Isles. That's it. During missions you never had any other objectives than to get to the end before time ran out. There is no time limit in this game, and there certainly isn't any running forward only, while only jumping on small islands. This game has missions which play off of the story. For instance, the first world is being terrorized by Frightbeard's Pirates. So, by the end of the world, you're fighting one of his minions, Captain Squidbeard in order to find clues as to how to locate Frightbeard, but not before you were to find a Tiki who would give said clues in a level before it. Like I said, it actually has a story unlike the first game.

This game isn't just level > waves > level > waves > level > next world > level > waves > level > waves > level > next world > rinse > repeat.

In the sand world, my first goal was to find Cali, as she would probably have clues as to where to find Frightbeard. This game feels like the console game, in that it is a road trip of sorts.

The upgrading is just like the first game, in that levels give you health and stat boosts, while hitting certain levels will give you new moves. The moves seem more varied than the first game, as a character like Shroomboom can shoot mushrooms or charge shoot a mega mushroom, or he can burrow in the ground to create a barrier while hurting enemies. It just seems based on this character so far, that moves are more varied than in the first game.

I still haven't explored any elemental gates throughout the levels, but seeing as how the levels are big, that will only make the levels bigger.

Trust me when I say that this game is way better than the first 3DS game. It feels like a miniature Gauntlet on a handheld now. I will upload some videos soon. I was going to the upload the first level, but I just ran through it. I will make videos for 2 specific levels in this game, showing you everything that level offers, and you will see how it plays like the console games while retaining elements of the first 3DS game, encourages exploration, and is just a much better game.

I will run through the levels after I am done writing today and post them. It will be multiple videos for the same level, but that's so it's easy to upload.
