Well, we spoke to someone who said they'd allow us to buy it at midnight. Not sure if it stands for everyone, though.

Just spoke to my local Asda. The member of entertainment staff was utterly clueless, asked someone else who said they wouldn't be doing a midnight launch at this store. I asked what time they'd be on sale from and she said "err.. Should be any time on Friday, assuming they come in on the delivery the day/night before".

Supermarket entertainment staff really are appalling. So, my options are....

Game - no chance, too expensive and an awful company to deal with.
Gamestation - same price, slightly better than Game
Asda - clueless, pot luck as to when they're put out
Tesco - see Asda
Sainsburys - haven't contacted them yet but not 24 hour so 7am is possible and do have staff discount
Morrisons - lol
HMV - see Game
Toys R Us - 25 miles away from me, dodgy car at the mo so that trip is unlikely, shame as they'll have plenty of stock. Do need the Legendary figures tho.
Play.com - pre ordered all required figures today but not holding my breath until I see a despatch confirmation

I only got one Skylander from play and the packaging was in a very poor state by the time it arrived.

I'm aiming to get to TRU and Tesco Friday morning for the Legendary and Granite figures, then leave things a while as I'm probably not getting the game until Christmas!

If Game and HMV aren't an option cos they're too expensive, ebay is most definitely not an option.

If anyone is interested, Topcashback and Quidco are offering 20% cashback on iwantiwant.com. Just ordered all characters in wave 1 for £164. Works out £131 after cashback. For 15 figures, I'd say that is pretty good...

About time, although I'd rather go instore because sometimes the prices are cheaer (and there's no delivery charge as I bus it to TRU with ma free 16-18 Oyster Card)

They know it's a popular franchise + Christmas = Massive ammounts of profit (and considering UK has probably got the most expensive end of the stick when it comes to giants...Ouch)

EDIT: @kiroq (below) I saw tha Play.Com and saw he £12.99 giant prices so I pre-ordered them, hopeflly they wont be cancelled or raised in price (although the second one is unlikely)

Play.com had the figures up yesterday but today they were taken down also they were cheaper than everywhere else I've seen them

Cashback tracked in 20mins. Just a midnight trip to Tesco and 9am to Toys r Us needed on Friday.

No mine is still at Picking Bay but they use a next day courier for delivery so I'm not worried. They're normal procedure for in stock items is to post same day if ordered by 3pm so would imagine they'll get processed at some point today.

Toys R Us hold them for two days, so in this case end of trade on Saturday. You'll probably be able to buy them from the site tomorrow, but I believe that it will have a £5 shipping charge.

Just received a call from TRU saying I could collect the figurines from tomorrow. They are in stock today but obviously are adhering to the street date.

I've had nothing yet and I'm assuming I put an order in before you. I don't mind getting them tomorrow. At least I've got them reserved and I don't need to rush there in the morning.

EDIT: And its now been 30 minutes. My Toys R Us is terrible at anything anyway. I'll just wait until tomorrow when I should get confirmation of my reservation. I'll ring them up at some point today to confirm that they've got it though.

Just got a ring from my local Toys R Us. They told me that the reserve and collect were put up by mistake. She did tell me that they haven't got the legendary triple pack in stock yet, which is a bit of a worry, but they do have L-Bouncer in. She did say that I could go and buy L-Bouncer now but then rang me back 10 minutes later to say that they won't be on the system till tomorrow.

Looks like I'll be heading to Tesco tomorrow morning to see whether they'll be getting any Granite Crushers in.

My local Sainsburys have got the figures in, prices start at £8.99 so they might be in line with Play.com. I get staff discount too
